Yes. But, I was severely shocked and impacted by this Big New Idea. This is the first time we have had the Chinese Fireworks Finale hit its peak at 11:00PM. NOTE: So, what I worry about is that Thailand will soon be forced to set our clocks by Beijing time. As you know, ALL of China runs on Beijing time. And so, I fear that this is just another way that Beijing plans to dominate my life in Chiang Mai.

I'm curious. Why, this year in CM, was the fireworks finale, all around here, set at 11:00PM? (12:00 Beijing Time) Was this just a salute to Beijing? This has never happened before. Does this mean that we can soon expect the Beijing occupation of Chiang Mai to begin in The Year of the Dragon? My guess is YES. The Chinese are coming. Same thing happened just a few years ago in Hong Kong. How will you prepare for this,.... When they come marching in? Regards, Gamma

One of the greatest pleasures of life in Thailand is our exposure to birdsong. It is rare, especially in New England, to be able to enjoy birdsong in the mornings, especially during the months of January and February. Here where I am, the birds are especially noisy. I am grateful.

Such an intelligent bird, though. One cannot help but love them. I am missing them, over here. I love them. Note: These birds have quite sophisticated ability to communicate with their own kind, such as to warn of danger, in a specific way, and I have seen them attack green and brown snakes much larger than they.... I really love these birds.

Have you noticed that there are fewer common mynas in Thailand, these days, compared to a decade ago? Yes or no.... I say there are fewer, and far fewer. The myna is the greatest of birds. Where have they gone? I wish they would come back. Normally, these birds seem to be most plentiful around here during the months of February and March. Last year, they seemed to be quite sparse. I first watched this film at a theater near my home. I was spellbound by the beauty of Christie in her youth, and the setting and the landscapes of this film. 1967 was a very good year. Lot's of good things happened in 1967. Maybe your recall? Those were the days....
