Why does McDonalds cost so much in Thailand?

I found Burger King to be cheaper than McDonalds, but they don't taste as good (at least the burgers, the fried chicken tastes better at BK), can get 2 burgers at bk for the price of 1 at McDonalds. Surprisingly it's mostly thai nationals in the American fast food chains, I rarely see foreigners eating there. -

I could understand if someone came on holiday and got McDonalds or KFC, but if you live here I don't know why one wouldn't eat fast food. I didn't come to Thailand for the food. I can't really say I've had any thai food that was amazing, it tastes good but it isn't something I'd eat everyday. The only Thai food I have found that tastes great is mookata. I am asian though so a lot of the thai food is just a repetitive version of another asian dish so I've been eating it my whole life (even mookata). It's a convenience as well, you have McDonalds/Subway/KFC everywhere, it's actually hard to find good thai food unless you live in central bangkok, it's usually hit or miss where I live now and the quality/cleanliness isn't great (yes fast food is going to be cleaner just ask trump). Most malls have more international food than thai food and I live by a mall so choices tend to be non-thai food. Probably due to overeating more so than the food itself. Thai food isn't very healthy to be honest, it's one of the reasons I don't eat it daily. Lots of sausages/ processed meats as well. Usually when I do it's mookata or som tom now, the other dishes have too much oil. Curious what do you usually eat in Thailand? -

actually stuff like Burger King and KFC (both owned by yum brands) is on par with north America prices, in some cases cheaper, i.e 3 piece chicken for 150 baht, usually closer to 300 baht in can Yea I remember when they were still around last year but they exited Thailand. You could get like 5 grilled chicken burgers for 200 baht. -
McDonalds is kind of expensive here, the cheap sandwiches like a cheeseburger 100 baht, translates to $3USD, even in USA a McDouble is like $1 no? Is it cause the beef?

if you just skip drugs and alcohol you'll be pretty healthy, probably should not overeat, keep a BMI of 20 or less and you'll be fine and maybe 2-3 workouts a week will keep you healthier than most. this is coming from someone who studied dietetics in university, theres no real special diet or food that is going to change much in the long term

Sure, if you buy tops and do valuations, kind of like if you bought amazon in 2000 you'd be down 95% too before making 45000%
-
Not really when you're buying great companies at undervalued prices, typically s&p500/nasdaq returns 100% in 5-7 years. 900/1200 = 50%? I said to buy stocks a month ago or so while most were saying sell, now that people are getting enticed into the market again I am selling my positions for 50-100% gains and should be all cash by this week and I'll sell out of the money puts until Sept fomc ????

Over 100 Thais deported from South Korea’s Jeju Island

interestingly I found out a lot of thai nationals that go to Japan/korea to work (no work permit) -
How do border runs usually go in terms of being allowed entry with a visa exempt? Does immigration tend to be hit or miss? Right now I am most likely going to go back to Canada for a few months, I'm thinking maybe 3 months would be enough for me to do everything I need, finances/business/medical/seeing friends/family. I wonder if I'll have any issues coming back with a visa exempt since I stayed in Thailand for about 12 months with covid extensions?
-
Yes you're right it was the 90 day nonimmigrant visa followed by 12 month extension, was 30k for the 90 day and 60k for the 12 months. Any idea if these 90 day + 12 month visas have the same issues with "volunteer" visas being under the table or giving people issues in the future? I don't know if I'd stay another 15 months though so might not be worth it to go that route, I think elite visas are almost that expensive too so was curious if anyone had a different extension, I think I recall someone getting an 8 month or 12 month education visa. Actually when I went to a hospital (won't mention the name just incase it's something they don't want public) the doctor asked me how long I am staying in Thailand and said they can extend my visa for medical treatment, said lots of people do it and it would be no problem, maybe I'll pay him a visit if I decide to stay a bit longer. I think I recall someone telling me though if I did that then it would be my "last" extension for the trip as you can't get extended after medical visas' that.

it went up 50%, many stocks did even mega caps which rarely have huge moves like that. Some stocks up over 100% not common movements. Those who missed on investing at those prices will never get that chance again. Easily 1000% returns in some stocks for the years to come.

How could it be down 50% when it's near all time highs? If you know how to invest you made money, its a zero sum game

lol even the nasdaq is up near 20%, plenty of stocks are up 50-100%, Tesla, apple, amazon, growth stocks are up near 100% Roblox, Affirm, Coinbase, etc. I am up near 50%, but sold too soon, would have been up 100% at least.

because bitcoin produces nothing and is worth nothing stocks are rallying 50-100% up the last month because they are actual real assets
