I know one of the admins personally. He told me years ago I should try not to put people on my ignore list; even the dregs can occasionally offer a valuable perspective. I respected his opinion until recently when I put one member into Lala Land, and my forum experience has been MUCH more enjoyable ever since. I guess he was the exception to that rule. Even when Xanax was elevated in drug level of seriousness, all it did was bump up the price by 5 baht a pill.

Those documents are for Thai business needs. If you got one in English, most recipients would shake their heads and say, "Nope." I have to imagine there are smartphone apps that would do a rough translation for your own purposes.

I have been making coffee, sun tea, and cooking with tap water in Bangbon, Jomtien, Pattaya, Chanthaburi, etc. etc. since 2006. It's fine. For plain drinking water, I do use one of those "reverse osmosis" dispensers.

They were probably upset cuz I didn't snap to attention and come running at their call for me to heel. Eff them! I comply, and do my best to wear the "Thai smile" when dealing with them, but there are limits.

If you admit there is a trust issue then dig a little to find the cause. You won't have to dig far, it's right there on the surface, EVERYONE is aware of it.

She said they asked her why I was in Chanthaburi. "No foreigner comes to retire in Chanthaburi!" they claimed. She was very distraught after the meeting with them. She told them I like to ride my bicycle which was true. Chanthaburi has some very beautiful riding trails. I have not been impressed with the lack of "customer service" attitude at Chanthaburi immigration. I've done one extension so far, and even though I brought in copies of my entire bank book for the 800k as well as the actual bank book itself, they demanded I get an annual statement from the bank. That was an additional unnecessary, annoying step and 100 baht. Never had that happen at Jomtien. I also have never been given any TM-30 paperwork to attach to passport though the front desk gal went to immigration to register me. Heavy sigh, if the women weren't so damned cute . . .

I had three (!) Immigration Officers come visit my rented condo in Chanthaburi about two months ago. I wasn't home. I got a call from the gal at the front desk saying these arrogant <self deleted> demanded I return immediately. I told her to tell them I was half way to Jomtien and I wasn't about to turn back around on their say so. She told me later they grilled her for about 30 minutes. Thankfully, I had treated her very well, giving her free English lessons whenever I could, and she told them I was "very jai dee" (her words). I haven't heard from them since.

Yeah, another boondoggle. The school I worked at received a number of these useless tablets the first time they tried it. I KID YOU NOT - there was a picture reading exercise that showed a fat old foreigner at an ATM, and the point was for the student to enter the correct pin to receive money to give to a young Thai woman.

I've always done extensions by myself and they have always taken my picture right after I had all my paperwork approved.

I apologize for all the snarky comments. Too many people wished they were stand up comics and, for lack of ANY talent, missed that boat and wound up on this forum. There are many broke, desperate folks in the world (NOT just Thailand) who would jump on the opportunity to snatch a laptop. Even if you lock the software down, thieves can remove the hard drive, access all your files, then sell the hardware (drive, ram, etc.). Take it with you, don't let it out of your sight. Chances are you have too much sensitive info on that machine.

Yeah, I fail to see the association as well. I ALSO see the association for, at a minimum, castration. I TEACH that age and can't understand the sexual attraction. Boys and girls are basically the same with different genitals.

Have you tried https://shopee.co.th/ ? Any time I have trouble getting something from Lazada, these guys almost always come through.
