  1. Huge difference between sitting and soaking suds versus teaching/learning in sweltering heat. Sorry, that dog don't hunt.
  2. I offered to pay for aircon installation in the classrooms I teach in that don't have it, and the parents replied they don't want their kids in an air conditioned classroom. They are STILL living in the middle of the Covid scare. Love my job but often have to shake my head.
  3. Anyone remember "Penthouse Forum?" Starting to wonder if we're headed in that direction.
  4. Broke my heart when they had to pull his character from the last season of "House of Cards." He WAS the show regardless of how hard the rest of the cast tried to pull it off.
  5. I use an HP Pavilion with touch screen and have a Wacom drawing tablet as a backup. Of course the HP is much more expensive having a dedicated touchscreen but it's much easier to use. The Wacom takes some getting used to, hence the delegation to backup only. Keep in mind, those pens can get expensive so don't lose them. Also, look into Krita software. Free, legitimate open source yet extremely powerful.
  6. They used to have you go through security (it was a joke). I just did the SFO-TP-BKK trip April, no security this time.
  7. I usually fly EVA, tried China for the shorter layover in TP. NEVER AGAIN! EVA all the way.
  8. Perhaps it's because 45 is SUCH a LYING LOSER?!? Hillary was just a weak candidate and as much as I can't stand 45, Hillary would have been even worse for the world. Look up the details of her hand in TPP.
  9. I didn't watch it, I've heard her detestable cackle too many times. She was merely an affirmative action vp and it's her enormous hubris that will force her to run for potus in 2028. Certainly SOMEONE or SOMETHING better will knock her out of the contest.
  10. It's all part of the dumbing down of the American populace which has now spread across the globe. The laugh track was one of the WORST inventions in the evolution of "entertainment." People can now completely zone out and shove deadly garbage in their mouths while the screen dictates their thoughts and emotions.
  11. There is another article that explained how a blocked oil port (or something like that) added to the problem. Yes, motorbikes aren't going to start going all "Spinal Tap" around the country.
  12. China Air once gave me a business class upgrade. Like they say, "the first one's free." Can't every go back now.
  13. I returned from a trip to the US on 10 April. I went to Chanthaburi immigration and they said no need for the TM-30 since I went back to the same condo in which I live full time. A week later I spent 3 days in Pattaya. They required a TM-30 to report my return, and they went over that sumbitch with a fine tooth comb.
  14. The thing about aluminum vs aluminium - years back, Alcoa Aluminum became a household name and aluminum became synonymous for aluminium, the same as Xerox went from a noun to a verb. Yes, the element is aluminium and the foil is aluminum.
  15. Watch Jodie Foster's movie "Nell" to REALLY understand how to speak.
  16. When searching for Lazada items, I go the the Google machine, enter what I'm looking for, then add the word Lazada at the end of the search. MUCH better than the native Lazada search engine.
  17. I sure wish they would fix their website. YES, they also do American passports. VERY proficient and great folks to deal with. Just off of Soi Buakhao.
  18. Just think of the millions of gallons (or litres if you wish) of ink saved by dropping the "u" from words like color, flavor, etc. Also: The first recorded use of the word "soccer" to refer to the ball was in 1486, and the first use as a verb in 1599. The word "soccer" originated as an Oxford "-er" slang abbreviation of "association", and is credited to late nineteenth century English footballer, Charles Wreford-Brown.
  19. I used these folks last year to renew my US passport: https://thaivisa-express.com/ I cannot speak highly enough about their service. They caught a mistake (f***ing photo shop sold me UK photos vice US photos) that would have been costly. To me that was WELL worth the small added expense and the girls are quite fetching there to boot.
  20. I've been living in Chanthaburi a few years now. I just came to Pattaya to see friends, and GODDAM the traffic is horrendous!!! I doubt I could ever move back now. Nice place to visit but . . .
