"A Chinese social media influencer who came to Thailand to do a hatchet job on the kingdom’s foreign tourism industry, particularly Bangkok’s Nana nightlife district, has found herself summoned, charged, fined and warned off by Immigration Bureau police who informed her she could be facing potential deportation for breaching the kingdom’s strict labour laws."

Correct. obviously they knew and turned a blind eye for a few brown envelopes, so will the local cops get reprimanded for 'breaking the law'? -
Some do, ask Bill Britt, sadly he has passed away, but he made a lot!

You are correct it is NOT a pyramid scheme and the products do what they say and are good quality!

You said 'clowns' and that is being euphemistic!

" Its like she killed somebody?? Was sarcasm! From the attached article: "The legal action against Ms Wang has stirred controversy, especially as it appears to signal a departure from the typical response to negative portrayals of the country. Senior police officials explicitly stated that the cause for the legal action was the production and distribution of content deemed harmful to Thailand’s image abroad."

Address Reporting Surprise!

Yes agreed or 90 day reports in person etc, but why on Earth did they revert back to this and why is it only at some immigration offices? -
Address Reporting Surprise!
Smokey and the Bandit replied to whophant's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Quite so, but in 2020 they stopped the requirement for a new TM30 if you re entered Thailand on long term, visa, permission to stay, with a re-entry permit, if you were staying at the same address? This has apparently now changed at only some immigration offices, Jomtien being one and they are fining people for not filing a new TM30 within the 24/72 hr window. It also seems that this reversion has not appeared in any advertisement or the Royal Gazette! Hence my previous comment! -
Another question, if you don't mind. So you go to immigration after the 72 hr window has passed and you ask for a new TM30 and they say the fine is 1,600 baht? But you would be traveling out of Thailand in the next few day, so you say no thanks. You come back from your trip to Thailand, enter with your re-entry permit go to immigration within the 72 hr window for a TM30, you will not pay a fine?

Address Reporting Surprise!

It seems they are trying to make up for lost money during Covid by fining people for anything! -
So a question, lets say I have been in and out of the country several times on a re entry permit and NOT completed a new TM30 on return to Thailand. So If I went to immigration to do some business, say a 90 day report I would be required to supply a TM30, which I don't have so I be fined 1,600 baht for not doing one within 24/72 hrs of returning? So even if I go out of Thailand for say 2 days, I would still still need a new TM30?
-
I just did my 90 day report, 2 days ago, online. I am registered at Jomtien office and my last TM30 was around 5 years ago. I have been in and out of the country on re-entry's several times. My 90 day report came back within 24 hrs, Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been approved. So is it only if you turn up in person you need a new TM30?

Totally agree. Whilst this woman was obviously trying to gain 'followers' because she is an 'influencer' and that was her intent. Now this will get international attention and make immigration/RTP look worse than they already are? I mean OK tell her to careful what she is saying etc, but fined, possible deportation and blacklisting? Its like she killed somebody??

"Bloggers beware! Police in Bangkok say a Chinese influencer who posted “negative content” about the capital could face legal action. But they’ve also admitted they’re not sure what form any legal action would look like – given that they acknowledged the woman “has a right to post what she likes about Thailand”. So anyone who 'Blogs' a negative comment about Thailand could face legal action? Isn't this taking thing a bit too far?? Not everything in Thailand is perfect?
