  1. Bandying the left and communism about as if they are the same thing is no different to saying the right and the NAZIs are the same.....oh wait.
  2. No, Mexico did not pay directly for the construction of the border wall, despite former President Donald Trump’s repeated campaign promise that it would. Instead, funding for the wall came from the U.S. federal budget. Here’s a breakdown of how it was funded: 1. Federal Appropriations: Some funding came from congressional appropriations specifically allocated to border security, which included funds for new fencing and reinforcement of existing barriers. 2. Military Funds: In 2019, after Congress refused to allocate the full amount Trump requested, he declared a national emergency to redirect funding from the Department of Defense budget toward the wall. Around $6.1 billion from military construction and counter-narcotics programs was reallocated for this purpose. 3. Customs and Border Protection Funds: Some money also came from the budget of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which included funds earmarked for border security enhancements. 4. Tariffs and Trade Policies: Trump argued that renegotiating NAFTA as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and imposing tariffs on Mexican imports indirectly “paid” for the wall by benefiting the U.S. economy. However, this was not a direct payment from Mexico to the U.S. Treasury for wall construction. In the end, the U.S. taxpayers covered the direct costs of building the wall along portions of the U.S.-Mexico border.
  3. And the aging, senile hypocrite is now an immigrant on St Kitts......almost akin to a Python sketch.
  4. He hasn't really stuck his neck though......he is quite relaxed about spewing forth any old rubbish....remember the wall and the mexicans paying for it?.....just more of the same......he has lied, cheated and conned for so long now people are just inured to it.
  5. Bit of a mixture for me.....married for 14 years, 'became' a single dad of four youngsters. Single for 13 years whilst the kids grew up...then kicked the a**e out of being single again until I remarried.
  6. He is doing what he has always done.....whatever is best for him.
  7. Many Americans view Trump as fundamentally unfit for leadership due to his behavior, record, and divisive rhetoric, which they believe far outweighs any policy positions he claims to support. Critics argue that Trump has repeatedly disregarded democratic norms, shown contempt for constitutional processes, and fostered an atmosphere of hostility and misinformation. The accusations against him are not merely media invention; they’re supported by documented instances, such as his role in the events surrounding January 6, 2021, his multiple impeachments, and ongoing legal challenges. Kamala Harris, by contrast, is seen as a steady, experienced public servant who has spent her career advocating for justice, equal rights, and practical reforms. Many Americans appreciate her stance on critical issues like affordable healthcare, police reform, and education, which are geared toward creating a fairer and more equitable society. While Trump’s supporters might characterize these policies as radical or harmful, Harris’s supporters argue that these policies are designed to build a stronger social safety net and to correct inequities that harm the country as a whole. The critique of Harris as a mere “anti-Trump” candidate misses the larger platform she and the Democratic Party are offering: a commitment to governance that respects diversity, tackles climate change, enhances social and racial equity, and addresses economic inequality. Harris’s policies reflect a vision that emphasizes unity and progress, as opposed to Trump’s often inflammatory rhetoric that, to many, undermines social cohesion and marginalizes vulnerable groups. Furthermore, the trustworthiness of the media is a complex issue, but the vast majority of reputable media organizations adhere to standards of journalism that include fact-checking and accountability. While bias exists in all media to some degree, dismissing the entire press as “liars” undermines the role of the fourth estate, which serves to inform the public and hold leaders accountable. Trump’s continuous attacks on the press may be viewed as a tactic to avoid scrutiny and accountability, creating a culture of mistrust that’s harmful to democracy. In short, for many who oppose Trump and support Harris, this election isn’t simply a choice between two candidates; it’s a decision about the values America stands for. They see Harris as a candidate who champions inclusion, progress, and integrity—qualities they believe are essential to effective, democratic leadership. This argument centers on a fundamentally different view of what constitutes effective leadership and governance and reflects the perspective that policies supporting equity, democratic norms, and trust in the press are crucial for a healthy society.
