Had a bout of E. coli recently. The pain wasn't too bad, but there was never any relief, it just never let up and it wore me down over a few weeks. I can certainly sympathize with what you are going through. Hope you get it sorted!

Kind of, but that is like comparing paraffin with rocket fuel. PPI's block the stomach wall from producing 95% of the acid it would normally produce. If you take them and the pain subsides or disappears it might at least give you an indication as to what is causing the pain. PS I have no medical training whatsoever!!!

Try a PPI.....omeprazole, 40mg to begin with. Take one in the morning with plenty of water, half an hour before you eat anything.....might alleviate the pain. If it does it could indicate an ulcer. I've been on them for over 14 years.
