  1. .....and washed away with the rain into the drains.......leaving the air cleaner.....easy to understand with a brain cell. From Chat GTP Yes, rain naturally cleans the air of pollutants like dust, pollen, smoke particles, and even some gaseous pollutants through processes known as wet deposition and scavenging. Here’s how it works: 1. Mechanisms of Air Cleaning by Rain: 1. Washout (Rainout): • Process: Raindrops falling through the atmosphere collide with airborne particles (dust, soot, pollen). • The particles stick to the droplets and are carried down to the ground when the rain falls. • Effectiveness: Very effective at removing large particles and water-soluble pollutants. 2. Condensation Nuclei Removal: • Process: Pollutants, especially fine particles, often serve as nuclei around which water vapor condenses to form raindrops or cloud droplets. • Once the droplets grow large enough, they fall as rain, carrying the particles with them. • Example: Sulfates, nitrates, and other aerosols are effectively captured this way. 3. Gaseous Pollutant Absorption: • Process: Some gases, like sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), dissolve in raindrops, forming weak acids (e.g., sulfuric acid or nitric acid). • This contributes to acid rain, which removes the gases from the atmosphere but can damage ecosystems. 2. What Pollutants Are Removed? • Particulate Matter (PM): • Fine particles (PM2.5) and larger particles (PM10) including dust, smoke, and pollen. • Soluble Gases: • Sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and nitrogen oxides (NOₓ). • Organic Compounds: • Some volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can dissolve in raindrops. • Pollen and Biological Material: • Allergens like pollen grains are efficiently washed away. 3. Limitations of Rain Cleaning the Air: • Not Effective for Gases Like Carbon Monoxide (CO): • Insoluble gases, such as CO and methane (CH₄), are not easily absorbed by rain. • Temporary Effect: • Air pollution may rebuild quickly after the rain stops, especially in urban areas with heavy traffic and industrial activity. • Acid Rain Concerns: • Pollutants absorbed by rain may create acid rain, which can harm soil, water bodies, and vegetation. • Particle Size Matters: • Very fine particles (<0.1 microns) may remain suspended and not be captured effectively by raindrops. 4. Observations After Rain: • Cleaner Air and Fresher Smell: • After a heavy rain, the atmosphere often feels fresher due to the removal of dust and aerosols. • Reduced Visibility Hazards: • Haze caused by pollutants often disappears after rainfall. • Enhanced Plant Growth: • Dust-free leaves and dissolved nutrients can improve photosynthesis in plants. Conclusion: Rain is a natural cleanser for the air, effectively removing dust, pollen, and water-soluble pollutants. However, it’s not a perfect solution, as it cannot eliminate insoluble gases or ultrafine particles entirely. While rain temporarily improves air quality, persistent pollution sources may cause levels to rebound quickly.
  2. Interesting...the staggering strength of Einstein's theories comes from exactly the opposite......totally ignoring human perceptions and experiences and dealing solely with "known" facts......almost all his theories are based one fact......the speed of light is constant. He didn't even accept such basics as Euclidean geometry as being a given.
  3. You're 'ave in a tin barf.
  4. Bearing in mind all these speeds are relative to some other object or frame of reference....there is no absolute motion in Einsteinian mechanics as there is no absolute space.
  5. Unless it extends to infinity...???
  6. Evidence if you ever needed it......flat as a pancake.....555
  7. Ooooo...Schrodinger !! The Vet to Mr Schrodinger, who is sat in the waiting room........Well Mr Schrodinger, regarding your cat.....I have some good news and I have some bad news.......
  8. So you didn't read my post? We lived free, she paid no income tax or VAT on anything.....and yes, the salary plus the car deals and zero outgoings......a little less than a million a year is about correct......although the exchange rate much better rate than currently kind of 55 ish on average. MOD Ministry of Defence
  9. 5555.....no I was laughing hence the single word response ..... OMG she would earn a fortune on onlyfans......thinking, thinking.....
  10. That it is almost spherical.
  11. No. We married in 2006 and she lived with me in Germany, where she worked for the British MOD until 2019. We lived free of rent, no household bills, no VAT,........ I had to pay NI and UK income tax., but she only paid NI. She was entitled to buy tax and duty free cars....one a year.....which she sold back in the UK. I would guess she cleared 10 to 12 million baht. Oh and she is entitled to a UK state pension to boot. Soz to disappoint.
  12. At the risk of annoying people who have heard all this before.....yes....she has footed the bill for.......... Three bedroom house, all ensuite 1,500 sq ft of outdoor living space with pool table, bar, kitchen, veranda Around 40 rai of land A one bedroom, resort type house house ....and she's halfway through building a rustic 'restaurant' and bar. To be fair.....if we go out, I pay for all the food and drink.....fortunately she doesn't drink.
  13. No dog is ever vicious or attacks a living soul.......until it does......then the excuse...."oh well he's never tried to kill anyone before" simply doesn't wash. We keep our dog on a lead whenever there are other people about....even at home he goes on a lead if someone visits.
  14. On a more general note......they just don't care.....plans, if they have any, are no more than a very rough idea of what might or might not happen.
  15. Cappuccino in Isaan is always cold.......they make the coffee hot but either CBA or don't know to heat the milk as well. I have to tell them to heat the milk....same with latte or any milky coffee.....I guess.
  16. Hard to imagine they have the intel on lowly foot soldiers.......even if they knew their 'names'......how would they ever track them?
  17. So targeted killings of those thought to be responsible......but not the footsoldiers, the guys at the top!!!.....cheers.
  18. A concerted effort by the Shinawatras will bring an end to corruption and nepotism in Thailand. Following radical changes in the law, Thais will become the safest and most considerate drivers in the World. Wealthy hisos will push for a significant increase in income tax so they can fund a decent minimum wage. The three Chinese built submarines will prove invaluable in a conflict that suddenly arises with laos.
  19. They are truly (and suspiciously) remarkable.......I wonder over what kind of area they are talking about having enjoyed these improvements? Why would rain make pollution worse?
  20. No thanks....... just the consequences Mr Trump is intending to exact if Hamas don't comply. Thank you.
