  1. Keep looking to buy one......must do it!!!
  2. ....the power coming from those buses is incredible...you can hear them from miles away. When I die I want one contracted to play 24/7 for a week.
  3. We have they joy of living not too far from four temples and villages.....the temple furthest away is the loudest??? Plus we get four lots of morning music and endless waffle from the village heads.
  4. The only time I've heard any complaints where we live (and the noise can be horrific), was when the monks in the temple hired one of those ******* stupid music buses and drove it round the village at 3am for an hour.....?????? Un*******believable.
  5. Good idea. Not leaving till April....so I'm in line for a good few lung fulls.....
  6. You're 'avin' a tin barf mate.
  7. Yep. Sugarcane stations are open, lorries and tractors are hauling their loads all day long. No burning yet, but only a matter of days. I checked the AQ about a month ago.....it was five times worse than central London then!!!! God only knows what it will be end of January.
  8. Played pool with two girls in BKK who I've seen in movies from a certain genre.......I was fascinated by them. That was many moons ago.
  9. Buddhists value the intention behind the gift more than the gift itself. A small, thoughtful gesture, given with kindness, will be deeply appreciated. A handwritten note or card expressing your gratitude and love can be just as meaningful as any material gift.
  10. The fool element, I guess, is getting shafted at the end when the relationship turns sour. Prior to that you are living the dream. I was engaged three times before taking the plunge......and I can honestly say I was living the dream for 10 years or more. Even now I find the gf experience exhilarating........and I know exactly what the girls are doing and why.....555
  11. Father was a director of ICI.....a huge chemicals company in its day. By the time I was 32 I was a main board director for a group of companies operating in the fluid power market sector. I 'retired' at 40 to work for the MOD as teacher of advanced physics. Retired (again) when I was 60. I would never claim to have been 'rich', but have a natural tendency to live within my means, so certainly never short of money in that respect. And now I live mainly at my wife's expense.......
  12. She’s a politician and like ANY politician she will paint a picture that she thinks will put her in a good light…..Claiming (truthfully or otherwise) that she was brought up by her GP father and University lecturer mother in abject poverty is up to her. What the electorate shouldn’t do is simply accept was she says as fact……nor should the electorate accept claims of this nature, by any politician, as fact. Jonathan Aiken “If it falls to me to start a fight to cut out the cancer of bent and twisted journalism in our country with the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of British fair play, so be it.”
  13. Expand…..I’m already pushing 86 kg!!!! What relevance has "she wasn't not a politician when she was 16 and first came to the UK" have to the topic of what she is now claiming?
  14. Surulere is a very beautiful place with lots of attractions. It’s located in Lagos State, Nigeria. Different people have given different opinions on why they like or dislike Surulere, but whatever your reasons, there’s no doubt Surulere has a lot to offer. https://realestateinlagos.com/surulere-review-everything-you-need-to-know/ The hell hole Kemi grew up in…..???
  15. She’s a politician trying to second guess what the public might like to hear….no great crime as far as politicians go.
  16. Her father Femi Adegoke was a GP who later founded a publishing company in Nigeria and became an activist for the rights for the Yoruba people. Her mother Feyi was a professor of physiology in America and at the University of Lagos. Her family lived in the middle classneighbourhood of Surulere and she was a student at the private International School of Lagos. Badenoch has described her background as "middle-class" but said in 2018 "Being middle class in Nigeria still meant having no running water or electricity, sometimes taking your own chair to school" Mmmmmm……father a GP who founded a publishing company, mother a professor in the US, lived in a middle class area………but had no running water or electricity……doesn’t really add up methinks.
  17. You can’t make statements of this nature (on this forum) without providing evidence. Please provide links to support your statement.
  18. Seriously, no one is interested in what kids you had or where you lived…..fella…..555
  19. Where do I suggest, claim, indicate she was lying about her employment record? *Upon what are your claims based? *’On' is a preposition….you really should try to avoid ending a sentence with one.
  20. Just weekends…..yes, apart from the school and college holidays, then I might get more days. Private company building bespoke houses so we worked weekends….cheap labour. Were you working for your dad?….No. Father died from oesophageal cancer when I was 14. Mainly mixing cement…….for some reason by shovel…no cement mixer??…... Ditch digging, pipe laying, soak aways. Don’t tell Brian you are asking these questions…..you’re not supposed to be interested.
  21. No, it’s not her experience…..it is just what she said was her experience…..she’s just being a politician……much the same as Starmer…..I’m not a fan of either. I laboured on a building site, weekends, for three years from 16 …..I wouldn’t be arrogant enough to claim I know, empathise, or understand working mens lives on the back of that.
