I think he knew there would be a monumental backlash in the case of Gaetz......a classic case of OMG look over there.....and his other picks now, whilst many might still consider to be controversial, start to look almost normal (not RFK of course).

Kash Patel's "Government Gangster" Hit List
Will B Good replied to Walker88's topic in Political Soapbox
That feature a certain King Donald Kash Patel’s children’s book The Plot Against the King features a character called “King Donald,” a fictionalized version of Donald Trump. The book is a satirical retelling of the Trump-Russia investigation, presented as a children’s fairytale. It portrays Trump as “King Donald” and Hillary Clinton as “Hillary Queenton,” who allegedly plots to undermine King Donald’s rule by fabricating a dossier accusing him of colluding with the fictional “Russionians” A must for all children's libraries I imagine in the US now......WT...? -
UK Pensioners in Thailand Face New Scrutiny Over Pension Fraud
Will B Good replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is not being posted as a statement of fact by me.....I am posting this in order to gain some clarification regarding the UK state pension and whether or not the Secretary of State (or whoever) has the power to suspend said pension. From what I can see the State Pension is classed as a benefit and presumably comes under this Regulation 16. Prescribed circumstances – Regulation 16 2001 Benefit can be suspended in the following prescribed circumstances: where there is a doubt as to whether a person receiving JSA is available for or actively seeking employment where there is doubt whether the conditions for entitlement to benefit are (or were) fulfilled if a question arises over whether a decision to award benefit should be revised or superseded if an issue arises over whether any amount paid or payable in connection with a claim is recoverable if a customer is not residing at the last address notified to you where an appeal is pending against a decision of an FtT, UT or Court where an appeal is pending in a different case (the “lead case”) and the result of the appeal might affect the case you are considering (the “lookalike case”) 2002 If serious doubts arise you can suspend the award immediately, before notifying the customer, but the customer must be notified as soon as possible afterwards that benefit has been suspended https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/suspension-and-termination-of-benefits-staff-guide/suspension-and-termination-guide#circumstances-when-payment-can-be-suspended -

Since Elon Musk is a foreign national and primarily conducts business in the US through companies like Tesla and SpaceX, he would not meet these criteria.

UK Pensioners in Thailand Face New Scrutiny Over Pension Fraud

Interesting that a FOI request is required to see what action, if any, has been taken to catch and prosecute expats claiming their pension increases from abroad.....wonder why?....maybe few and far between???? -
Elon Musk, or any foreign national, cannot legally donate $100 million to Nigel Farage or any other UK politician or political party under UK electoral law. Here’s why: UK Laws on Political Donations The UK has strict laws governing political donations to ensure transparency and prevent undue foreign influence. 1. Who Can Donate to UK Politicians or Parties? Only the following are permitted to make donations to political parties, candidates, or campaigners in the UK: • UK citizens or individuals on the electoral register. • Companies registered and carrying out business in the UK. • Trade unions and other registered organisations in the UK. Since Elon Musk is a foreign national and primarily conducts business in the US through companies like Tesla and SpaceX, he would not meet these criteria. 2. Foreign Donations Are Illegal Section 54 of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) explicitly prohibits foreign donations to political parties or campaigns. A foreign national, like Musk, cannot make a donation of any amount to: • A UK political party. • An individual politician. • A political campaign or referendum. The purpose of this law is to prevent foreign interference in UK politics. 3. Donations to Third-Party Organisations If Musk tried to give the money indirectly—say, through a third-party organisation or a think tank that supports Farage—that organisation would still need to comply with UK laws. If it operates as a political campaigner, it would also be restricted from accepting foreign donations. Penalties for Violating Donation Laws Violating UK donation laws can lead to: • Fines from the UK Electoral Commission. • Criminal charges, potentially resulting in imprisonment for those involved. • Political consequences, including reputational damage for the recipient. Alternative: Non-Political Donations Musk could legally give Nigel Farage a personal gift or donation for non-political purposes (e.g., a business venture or charity) as long as: • The money is not used for political campaigning. • Proper tax and financial reporting requirements are followed.

True...not an aristocrat...... John Blanke, a Black trumpeter in Henry VIII’s court, is one of the most well-documented Black individuals from this era. He is depicted in the Westminster Tournament Roll (1511), an illuminated manuscript, where he is shown playing the trumpet during royal ceremonies. He is also recorded to have petitioned Henry VIII for a pay raise, which was granted. -

1. Global Comparisons: • Brazil (Bolsonaro, right-wing), the U.S. (Trump administration), and the UK (initial Johnson approach) faced criticism for delayed responses and high death tolls. • In contrast, New Zealand (Jacinda Ardern, left-wing), Denmark (Mette Frederiksen, center-left), and Finland (Sanna Marin, left-wing) implemented early lockdowns and had relatively lower death rates. 2. United States (State-Level Data): • Research from U.S. states showed that COVID-19 death rates were higher in Republican-led states compared to Democratic-led ones, particularly in the later stages of the pandemic (after vaccines became available). • A study published in Health Affairs (2022) found that Republican-led states had a higher cumulative death rate and lower vaccination rates than Democrat-led states, even when adjusting for population density, demographics, and healthcare access. 3. Europe: • In Europe, right-wing populist governments like Hungary and Poland initially struggled with high death rates, while countries like Germany (under Angela Merkel, center-right with a science-driven approach) performed relatively better, though later waves were more severe. • Sweden (a social-democratic country) took a controversial hands-off approach, resulting in higher death rates than neighboring countries like Norway and Denmark. -

When Payments Could Stop or Be Affected: While it is unsanctionable, there are a few scenarios where the UK State Pension could be delayed or stopped: • Fraud or Misrepresentation: If a pensioner provides false information (e.g., incorrect residency details), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) can investigate and potentially suspend or reclaim overpaid pensions. -
