He got a 30 day visa exempt entry not a 15 day visa on arrival that requires a 2000 fee be paid for it.

He could apply for a 30 day extension at immigration for a fee of 1900 baht.

The overstay fine is 500 baht a day and is paid when clearing departure immigration.

If caught with a overstay he could be taken to the Immigration Detention Center and the be deported with a 1 year ban from entering the country.

so it would not be smart not to just go get the extension

    That's very good.

Does Emirates state whether you can request to extend the period of insurance once you have commenced your journey or whether you need to request if before travel starts?

dont know but i would do it before travel starts as if u got covid on day 29 ,  they might suspect someting if u extended it then

I don't think AIG will extend the Emirates product beyond the 31 day maximum policy period. This product is what is called a NAC (No Additional Cost) product that is developed and co-branded with another company which then includes the cost into a product they sell to the consumer. The end user usually can't request modification or extension of coverage.

If you are contemplating travel insurance, it needs to be taken out before travel commences and coverage inception is tied to your initial departure date. This would rule out getting a second travel policy during your trip. Your best option is to get a proper travel policy that includes Covid-19 cover prior to your initial departure and have it cover the entire period you plan to be away from your country of residence.

You email the insurer (details are on the EK website) and they will send you personalised details of your cover.  If it's good enough for TP is another question.

can i piggyback on this topic.  what if i stay more than 30 days .,  maybe i just call up the insurer and pay for the extra days insurance. or another company?  not sure if 2 companies and two policies for lets say 2 month trip is ok.  noting that the free emerites insurances is only 30 days

I tried to buy a 70" Hisense TV from Shopee (B20,500) but couldn't find a way to pay.  No COD, the VISA/MC approval system was down as it often seems to be.  Though I have the Bangkok Bank mobile app, I do not have the Bangkok Bank online account and without that, one can not transfer to Shopee.  I even drove a mile to a BKB ATM but no joy there as well as Shopee's ATM payment instructions did not match the ATM menu. A frustrating experience to say the least! (It was an expiring promo price, thus the frantic payment attempts.)

Later, found the same exact TV on Lazada for B400 more but with a Hisense dorm size fridge tossed into the deal. Never knew I needed one but it's turned out to be handy.

My niece was then able to find a further B1000 discount so net 19,900 including fridge. Delivery was free.  Payment was 2 clicks and done.

Delivered by seller to Jomtien the next day. They brought it up to my apartment but no unboxing or set-up.

Unboxing with 2 people was easy as the carton lifts off rather than having to pull the set out of it. I does leave a LOT of cardboard and styrofoam to dispose of.  Usually, I keep TV boxes but even flattened, this was too large to store anywhere.

Set-up was pretty easy, took about 15 minutes.  If one has a Google account on your mobile, it does practically all of it.

I've had the TV for three months now and I'm very happy with it.  The picture quality with the big display is incredible, great for watching sports and movies.  Sound quality is so-so, not bad but not great either.  No faults yet found.  The Android system is easy to use.

I would never have considered the usual B50,000+++ for a extra large TV but for just shy of 20K, quite an amazing price for the big screen experience.

My ex trained near Wat Worachanyawas on the river. Take a boat there and head straight through the market and you will find many traditional massage shops all together. It used to be 200 baht per hour in fan room - more for AC room.

i think thats the area i mentioned in my intro.  its a long boat ride but thier must be like 15 shops all together in a quiet area.  its so far away though.  oh well maybe a moto taxi i can take to get thier . i will see if grab has moto taxis to that area.  this area is the reason i posted.  nice to see a bunch of shops all together. i heard chinatown had some shops but i went their and nothing stood out to me

  8. ive been going to bkkk for over 20 years.  i stay near ko sarn road and up until a few years agoi have gotten decent massage thier.  but since a few years its getting difficult to get decent massage thier.   what other areas of bangkok have good massage .  when i say good i dont mean sex massage but  someone that actually knows how to do massage.   i used to take the boat on the river all the way down to the last stop and  their are multiple shops right thier at the pier but its so far away.  their must be other areas where massage shops are concentrated and i would like to know the areas to avoid if they are just sex massage

in related issue  i just bought some nike shoes on central online.  i think central is a big mall company in bkk?  anways i was shocked on how fast the item arrived. but the question is would a company like central sell a fake nike shoe.??  came in no nike box  but they were sandals..........did come with tags attached,,,,,,,,,,,,,but hey we are in thailand so fake nikes might be around  .  would central sell fake nikes?

tags were on the shoes but the plastic string attachement was tied not zip tied on.  someone had put th platstic string in a knot to secure the tag on.  makes me skeptical
