As much as I agree, CM air is bad, the vid is exaggerating, when it gets to the 'stats' part, and I stopped paying attention after I started typing. States AQI over 300 often, instead of stating rarely. Over 200 yes, over 300, no. And imply vehicle exhaust add a bit to it. As much as I despise diesel and ICEV exhaust, comparing BKK AQI to CM, and it points out, vehicle exhaust is far from the main issue, though if downtown along the sidewalk of bus & trucks routes, you'll be sucking in diesel fumes. Suburbia Krung Thep and you won't notice that as much, unless behind a trucks and diesel ICEVs on a scooter. Premise is true, but no need to exaggerate, as it's bad enough.

Seems they are definitely feeling the squeeze from Neta V & BYD Dolphin pricing. Cheaper and guessing better car than than overpriced Mazda 2 and other entry level ICEV made TH, or even imports from JP, since all about the same price now. Seriously don't know why anyone buys an ICEV now, unless you can't charge at home. At least people should take them for a test drive. Stop listening to the troll types, on or offline, spreading the endless negative BS of EV. As stated earlier, and the reason why some of us even reply to the trolls here, to give EV positive, real life experiences they deserve.

Daughter is in the need for a new car, in near future. I want to get her a Neta V or BYD Dolphin, as that's all she needs. But she wants to hold on to her Mazda 2 till it dies, which I think will be sooner than she does, as needed a few repairs already. Pretty sad for < 200k kms. On the Ciaz, seems they aren't selling well, as I've yet to spot one, since the discount was announced, new or older, and that's kind of strange, as I've been looking. Then peek on google, and seems other countries have discontinued producing, so maybe Suzuki TH is just going to follow suit and blowing out old inventory. That's a pretty inexpensive sedan, and doesn't have the ugly Celerio box look to it.

Rainy season is my favorite time of year, almost. Clean, clear skies, if not raining. Though overcast a lot of the time, and welcomed, as it blocks the sun & heat, that being the favorite part. Hua Hin & PKK provinces is actually one of the drier provinces in TH. So less rainfall than most of the country. A good time to visit, especially extended / 3 weeks. You'll have a bit of rain, usually afternoon spritz and or overnight downpour. But don't expect too much to ruin your stay, unless very unlucky. Rare that we get a full week of daytime downpours, as we live just 100 kms south of, and pop up to HH quite often.

Do agree the visa vetting system is broken, especially with the computers they have today that aren't utilized. Non-expunged records should be accessible to all Imm offices of all countries. As rare someone's felony record is expunged after conviction, unless part of the plea agreement. And wouldn't happen for a repeat offender, keeping out the worst of the worse.

I avoid going above Hua Hin 4-5 months of the year. Even here/PKK, an hour below Hua Hin, I limit my time outside for a couple months a year, and AQI is rarely above 100, although PM2.5 can be 5-20X the WHO's guidelines of healthy. AQI is 55 now, but PM2.5 is 17 (3.4X unhealthy) Hua Hin is 84 AQI & PM.2.5 is 27.9 (5.6X unhealthy), and only 100 kms away, mind boggling. My brother & wife were suppose to come to TH in a couple weeks, and I told them to don't bother. CM part of their itinerary. Canceled, and now thinking about reschedule in Oct/Nov. Stay South

This is the first roast beef I've done in over 24 years. Bit more done than I wanted, at the thin end, but made a tasty sandwich. Used a Picanha, which started at 1.7 kg, and ended up at 1.1 kg, after all the fat trimmed. Actually the impression I get, not much has changed, except they closed the one loophole, for Thais mainly, of folks transferring money in from overseas, and avoiding the tax on it, as it wasn't reported to the Thai RD. That just exposed the lax enforcement of tax code on expats. Main difference is, now foreigner may realize, they may possibly have had to be filing tax returns in the past on income produced overseas, if here 180+ days. Think most didn't know or even think about income taxes when moving to TH. I know I didn't and if had known my income wasn't exempt, and a 20-25% (when unmarried) would be required, I probably wouldn't have come to TH. Thankfully it is exempt (Soc Sec), so no need to consider moving, although with the deductions allowed, I'd only get hit with 10%, if I couldn't burry the rest with some loophole.

You missed my point, as every car seemed to have the same boring grills, whether black oval to add contrast & highlight badge, or worse, metal/silver/chrome. MG ZS one of, if not first (in TH) to do away with 2022 facelift. Which I actually thought was too plain & ugly. But after seeing a few driving towards me, really warmed up to it's uniqueness, and quite like it now. All the other EVs from CH, seem to eliminate the 'grill work' also, and very minimalistic / aerodynamic, with maybe an illuminated strip across the front. Much better than the ol' standard unstylish designs we've been trained to accept. ZS's is very practical also, having the charging port in the front. When using CSs, no worries or hassle of trying to plug into the side, when someone is parked too close to you. Convenient for the wife anyway, not me, as she's in control of charging when O&A.

Personally, since a Yank, and Soc Sec not taxed, and only thing transferred into my Thai bank, I'm going to just wait & see, and not really file anything. I extend visa Oct/Nov, so will ask then, if Imm will be requiring a new form to be completed/shown, for 2025 extension, concerning TH tax filing. Guessing Imm won't know the answer, but I'll ask anyway. Not going to try to fix what isn't broke, especially since I have no tax liability in TH. Let them tell me, as long not reading about any penalty for not filing. THANKS

I'm surprised people are still confused & asking questions of strangers for their taxes. Info has been out for a while now, and if you can't figure it out, just use a tax advisor. 3 months in, and people still haven't sorted if they will have a tax liability. Nothing like planning. The one link kind of explained everything one needs to know. Why does anyone need to ask questions after reading their DTA, and the excellent translated Thai tax code that was provided. Both are fairly straight forward, and easy to understand. Guessing these same folks didn't do their own taxes in home country, so just do the same here, use a tax consultant.

Yea, my wife refused to go to the USA, as the govt signage isn't in Thai script, and a sign like this just wouldn't be able to be understood. From the vid, still not seeing how he was "driving careless, which may pose danger to others", as nobody was near the car or had to move. Though not the most intelligent thing to do. Beach looking kind of empty where he was, and actually the whole beach is a bit deserted. Only other person on the beach is the "Karon" tell him not to ... go figure.

Night market ... simply walk there after sunset, as most people if 'in town', and less than 1 km away, if not much less. 'In town' isn't that big. Baht buses are quite convenient, but stop running at night fall, I think.
