Thai rainfall faces below-average levels as El Niño prompts dry spell
Quick peek and last year/PKK, was as wet as I thought. With Oct being extremely wet. Maybe another 300mm added on. "October has historically been the province’s rainiest month, and during the first nine months of 2022, Prachuap Khiri Khan has already exceeded its full-year precipitation (10-year) average, which was about 1,113 mm. According to data from the Thailand Meteorological Department (TMD), from January 1 to September 29, 2022 the province received 1,138.5 millimetres of rainfall, which is 44% higher than the 1995 baseline year-to-date “normal” value of 790.1mm." 2022 Although their 1995 baseline year is a silly low one to pick, when yearly average is closer to 1162 m. In Total, 64 Deaths in 4 Months From Phuket Road Accidents
If ever driven around Phuket, and seen some of these tourist on motorbikes, I'm surprised we do see a lot more 'Go Fund my Stupidity' threads. Inexperienced, unconfident, shaky, all over the road novice driver's, obviously unlicensed and without helmets on. It's mind boggling. Luckily the locals are well experienced in avoiding having accidents with them.

Thai rainfall faces below-average levels as El Niño prompts dry spell
Was out yesterday on the scooter, and notice a few more private 'reservoirs' dug by residents, not the govt. Haven't been out to the local lakes/reservoirs lately, but they were a bit low last time out there, April/May maybe; Pranburi, Yang Chum & Khuean Khlong Bueng

Unregulated lithium ion battery charge/discharge management
Really haven't a clue, as not exactly a lot of specs available. The dead/dying battery was complete false advertising, and TBH, wasn't surprised. Only that it died as fast as it did. Neither are name brand, although the 2nd one (10Ah) is quite impressive for the price. The comparison of the 2 is obvious. Dead one is 1/3 the size of the good one, but spec'd 3X better (30Ah vs 10Ah) ???? It was damn cheap though, and hindsight, now damn expensive per kms ????????

Thai rainfall faces below-average levels as El Niño prompts dry spell
I guess we're upper southern or lower central, but all seems about normal here. Late start, end of May. The telling point will be late Aug/Sept/Oct. Last year I noticed very wet, and longer season, up to Nov.

Unregulated lithium ion battery charge/discharge management
Have 2 batteries for my ebike, one inexpensive, and not surprisingly, and expected, I got what I paid for, and I believe it has already died. And a quick death at that. I've taken it off the bike, (as I don't trust it) and will test one more time, but not optimistic.

79 yrs old ... no wonder some countries can't move forward and nothing changes, as a bunch of old geriatrics at the helm.

gasoline price
Our last ICE car got 14 kms/L (MG ZS) and seems about the ballpark kms/L for using 91, in a 1500cc motor, as matches the kms/L for the Vios & Mazda 2 we had also. Doing the speed limit of 90 kph +/- Using ฿35 per L, so about ฿2.5 per km Our EV, same MG ZS, but BEV, cost about ฿1 per km, using charging stations when out & about.

My marriage is heading south. Dont know what to do.
Reads like you've made your mind up to abandon your son, and just want someone to agree that it's a good idea. Good for you, maybe for him, as you seem to be out of the picture anyway.

It's called defensive driving. Been here 20+ years, and nobody has hit me yet, although I've had to move and get out of their way more times than I can count. Sh!t happens, but somethings are avoidable if paying attention ... and doing the speed limit.

In Total, 64 Deaths in 4 Months From Phuket Road Accidents
It's really simple ... Speed Kills Drive the speed, and you realize, it's almost impossible to have an accident (fatal), along with watching all the idiots blow by you. Oh yea ... wear a helmet ???? You'll never be able to fix stupid Has nothing to do with the 'Thai system', people are simply irresponsible idiots, and pay the price for it. One can only hope they kill themselves.

Why ... simply because it's easy, and they may have problems self entertaining. On the subject of Nan, headed that way very soon, anyone know what # road this actually is:

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
Definitely, and I'd take that over any ICE at that price point, if you can find any that inexpensive. Low cost to operate & maintain, all and added plus, adding to the value.

As do the Dems, as it seem to be a mandatory running platform. Stop making it sound like one party is better than the other, they aren't ... IMHO

Correct ... and a good thing IMHO As long as criminals have access to them, you may want one if in the USA And I won't debate, been done already.

Baltimore shooting: Two dead and 28 injured in mass casualty event, police say
Technically, true 'assault weapons' don't cause any deaths, at least not for almost 100 yrs. Think 1930 was one of the last incidents using. People confuse 'assault' with 'semi automatic' weapons. And yes, handguns kill considerably more than long rifles. I've posted the FBI stat links way too many times go bother. Just search forum for 'FBI' surely the threads will pop up.

Leave the ol' guy alone. He's only got 2 more yrs to go, and besides, he's doing a fine job ... ... for expats If he runs, no way he's getting elected if he gets the Dem nod. Especially if he keeps Cackles as his VP, as nobody wants to see her as Pres. Well, maybe expats again.

Three drones intercepted while 'heading for Moscow', according to Russian state media; War not over until we have Crimea back, Zelenskyy says
Almost all of Europe & SEA (WW2) ... is a bit different than the simple regime change of UA, that many were unhappy with, and prefer to not be part of any more. Along with inhabitants of the districts wanting out, mostly having Russian heritage. Many possibly not even happy to be part of the UA at all for the past 30ish yrs, since that other referendum & independence. As always, who to believe. Been lied to too many time by my govt, so I don't believe anything, and again, it's a regional issue. But meddling in other's affairs is hugely profitable. Morality has nothing to do with it ... IMHO Believe what you want.

I can say the same about anything coming from UN or NATO. Still looking for them WMD ? You'll never know the truth, and it's a UA, Crimea, RU issue. Shouldn't even affect the rest of the world, and yet, how much did petrol cost or electric prices rise since last year or so. How many energy/fossil fuel/oil companies reported record profits. hmm ... go figure
