I have been buying data sims on Shopee and Lazada now for 3-4 years. The sim will be shipped to you. It will have an expiry date before which it has to be registered. It should be way in the future 6-8 months (and date is usually including in the listing from the seller). When it arrives you can register it in your name via online chat with the seller. They will require that you upload a photo of you holding up the sim so they can see the barcode on the sim packet and a photo of your passport. This will then register in a just a minute or so. Then you put it in you phone and you are good to go. I have used True, AIS and DTAC data sims. True is good in that you can get 12 months UNLIMITED data at speed of 10mbps. But you need to check first that your area has a good signal from them. I have been using the above mentioned sim for years but recently bought a house in another area. I was still using the True sim but the signal was not very good because I am out of town. AIS has better cover here but their marathon sim (6 or 12 month) are not unlimited and have data capped at 100GB which is not nearly enough. Fortunately just last week I found the AIS SIM promotion (link below) I bought it and it was delivered in 2 days. It has unlimited data for just 200baht per month valid for 6 months. It states that speed is limited to 10mbps but I have been getting up to 20mbps. The sim is already registered by the shop (in their name) so you just take it out of the packet and put it in your phone and it is good to go. It costs 200baht but includes first month of data free. The shop I have linked to below has good service with quick reply to chat enquiries and they understand and reply in English. 5 stars from me: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i432334117-s9533932748.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1&spm=spm%3Da2o4m.order_details.item_title.1

Just braved a few days with the Mrs family

It is always much more fun just to plow into your meal and they will also. Often ordering the "Lobster" dish or equivalent on the menu. Then when the bill comes just look at it, tally up your share, and hand that amount back to them with the bill and leave. -

What do you find weird about Australians? -
Problem here is that many of the places that do include service charge in the bill do not pass it on, in full or in part, to the staff. Especially if they are Burmese. So on many occasions it is a scam. Even where staff do receive a monthly service charge amount on top of their salary, that amount is often fixed, for example, an extra 2500 baht on top of their salary. If the service charge is fixed then obviously there is plenty of opportunity for skimming. The contrary argument of course is that a fixed service charge allowance is like a minimum wage guarantee...but would you trust the accounting of your Sino Thai business owners?

I’ve never seen a Thai person reading a book

What is the point of reading when you already know everything? -

If you don't feel like they have your back...can you really refer to them as family? -

Oldy but a goody... -
Water tower is a waster of time. You need a ridiculous amount of height to get a decent head.

Yes your observations are very astute. I shop extensively online here. There used to be a huge gap in favour of prices on Shopee. Not so much nowdays. But I find Shopee has a much better range of local stuff of real utility (not just consumer junk from China). A good example is if I want to buy stainless steel nuts and bolts and similiar hardware. Or long tail motor parts...or new bearings and armature to repair my grinder. Shopee also has much better refund system. Just deposited directly into my registered account. Lazada requires copies of passport uploaded a while back they required a copy of your bank book as well but I noticed just this week when I requested a refund they have modified (improved?) their system a little.

This is good advice. ALL brands always fail at the wheels and then the gas shock. I would also recommend a fixed chair like the one in this posters photo. Before he was squeezed out of Thailand due to tightening up of Visa I had a neighbor who had a job spinning up new servers for Phillip Morris (spelling?) the tabacco giant. He was on 250K USD a year. He worked from 600 baht fixed kitchen chair. But to throw in a wild card. Why do you not ditch the chair on sit on a good quality yoga/gym ball. I injured my back surfing many years ago and then ditched the chair in favor of a ball. It is difficult to sit on at first because you have to consciously correct your balance all the time. But after a while this become reflex. Every time you correct you exercise your core muscles to build strength. I promise you it will be the best move you ever make for the ongoing health of your back and abdomen. Also ditch lazada and use shopee. The link you posted has lazada listing the Furinbox Cooper for 3990 baht. Here is the very same chair listed on Shopee for 1490 baht. There is a saving of 2500 baht right there....you're welcome: https://shopee.co.th/Furinbox-เก้าอี้สำนักงาน-รุ่น-COOPER-(สีดำ)-i.266339377.4337066718?sp_atk=2a83b9f6-3321-4b82-8b45-e6121d214d00
