Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Accident in Chonburi
novacova replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Foreigners on Thai roads in one year: 551 deaths/7912 injuries 78.64% of which on motorcycles. Makes me wonder how many foreigners that live here know this, I certainly didn’t. Maybe near 0% of the visitors know. It doesn’t take much of hit to get seriously mangled and no seatbelts on motorcycles to help save the rider. -

A helmet isn’t necessarily going to save someone from getting killed, though it will no doubt will reduce the chances. -

See this with car drivers much too often as well, some just blatantly ignore motorcycles assuming the motorcycle driver notices them let alone predicting, creating a dangerous situation especially when a good number of motorcyclists are cellphone distracted delivery drivers. Anyway be careful because someone WILL pop out of nowhere right in front -
Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Accident in Chonburi

There’s definitely a safety disparity between the two. “for those who drive well” doesn’t necessarily mean driving with the flow of traffic and lawfully such as competing to get ahead and around other vehicles. If one can’t handle driving behind a woman on a Scoopy driving the speed limit then you’re driving too fast, right? Living life on the edge on the with success to date is waiting for the miscalculated consequences. Every day countless times I see people roll out without looking and seen a few collisions with these occurrences. So anyone justifying their experience by way of their ability to dance around on the road and competing with other traffic is just plain stupid. If driving within the law and maintaining bubble/radius and awareness, then chances are one may not experience a collision. -
Wow sounds like she’s good at her business…you’re already roped in

Good grief, some have no clue of what it is they’re talking about. .44 magnum isn’t for rabbits, it’s for bears and mountain lions, you know…the critters with big teeth and claws. A gun is a security device. I had a liberal minded friend who refused to carry a sidearm and it got him killed by a grizzly bear. So please go for a walk in the northern mountains of Montana Idaho Washington or Wyoming for a week without a firearm and report back when you’re done. Again, the thread is full of such reactionary emotional rhetorical hyperbole most likely from the mental onslaught programming by the hysterics of the media.

I won't wear a helmet, makes me look stupid

Yeah, like I or anyone else with a basic ability to observe most certainly can crunch the observation stats quite easily. But I can understand why someone might feel biased towards being part of a populous. -

See it much too often, individuals exceeding their limitations….just wanting for a miscalculated judgment to happen. -

Per capita, I see more farangs driving carelessly, with or without a helmet. Trying to squeeze a large motorcycle in jammed traffic, driving too fast squealing in traffic packing a holiday chick ext…and another freaky thing is they compete with other farangs so to be noticed and I’ve seen some pretty stupid stunts. So in any case just wear the freaking helmet because chances are whoever is reading this is most likely in the greater per capita population doing dumb stuff on roads that they didn’t grow up on and don’t have the same level of adaptation as if they did. -
Does it have to be made with glass? Why not make one with readily available bamboo. Isn’t that what Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong used when they did the Big Bamboo thing?

And this includes the gammaglob right?

+1 If I haven’t had any coffee before I leave in the morning it’s an automatic coffee tour ???? I’ll try to hit a couple places I haven’t tried before, because I’m always looking for something better.
-
…and there is certainly no shortage of these little shops here in the north
-
Totally 100% agree. If I need coffee on the road, Inthanin is superior to Starbarfs by far any day, just my preference…
-
Yes of course, the thread has many explanations of individual preferences. My favorite coffee isn’t available anywhere in Thailand, a roaster in Holualoa Kona, so I’m left hunting for the next best thing and cost isn’t an issue and ฿350 really isn’t expensive. I’m happy with a good strong smooth cup of kick@ss coffee is all I care about. So if anyone here has any idea of what it is that I’m looking for, please post it, it would be greatly appreciated.

My last Bodonso order was 6kg ฿4200. ฿350 per 500gm. ฿105 for shipping.

Excessive taxation only leads to government squandering and impedes spending. Free market capitalism with limited taxation is what flourishes the economy, more businesses hire, pay higher income, more money cycles through the system, the government receives more money. Simple economics as opposed to shortcut quick fix playing the game of victimhooding & evil rich penalizing polarizing politics. The premise of taxation is government control, not anything to do with lifting the economy and benefiting those with less income. And the idea of restricting oil decimates the economy, everything costs more, everything, pure utter stupidity. Oil companies get richer? So freaking what, then everybody has more money. If anyone is bothered by this then great! Because it inspires a warm fuzzy mood.

A lot of the aftermarket shocks will be stiffer for more stability at high speeds and cornering, considering that a softer shock isn’t necessary a good thing depending on your driving style. So be mindful. Yss G-Racing is a fully adjustable shock and a little spendy. Also if you’re not Speed Racer, you can change the oil to a lower viscosity in the front fork absorbers and it will be a softer ride but the bike will nosedive at high speed breaking. There are pluses and minuses when changing shocks, though stiffer shocks are generally safer.
