  1. Not trying to send you on a wild goose chase, though a faulty alternator could be the culprit. Run the engine and turn on the headlights and have someone rev the engine while you’re looking at the headlights. If the headlights brighten when the engine revs up then the alternator is the problem. If you have a voltage meter, check the battery voltage with engine off, voltage should be ~12 volts. Then check again with engine running. The voltage should increase to ~14 volts with engine running.
  2. You should be able to find Teflon spray at a motorcycle shop such as Chang Moto or Shanghai Panich parts shop or homepro might have some. While on the subject, wondering if anyone knows if LPS lubricant products are available in CM?
  3. Yes, you need two copies of everything. Don’t worry about the stamp on the photo, they’ll have the original along with it. Yes you can do both at the same time. Never mind with the appointment. Arrive there early just before 8:00am when the doors open. Go up to the 2nd floor to the foreigners window, can’t remember if it’s window 26 or 27 or? but it has a foreigners sign. Put your papers in order for each license, including your license’s and passport. Put the paperwork in a clear envelope along with your passport in one of the clear 8”x11” envelopes that is available there. Put the envelope containing your paperwork in the basket at the foreigner’s window and wait for them to call your name after 8:30 when the window opens.
  4. I have a few friends in Padaet CR that did not get the vaccine, not a single one caught Covid, yet many in the area that did get the vaccine caught covid, nearly everyone I know who got the vaccine caught Covid in one form or another. Leads me to believe the vaccine compromises the immune system.
  5. It may be the a/c compressor causing the vibration, check the belt. Possibly corrosion in the clutch pulley, spray teflon lubricant on the clutch pulley.
  6. Like it or not @bob smith offers a unique flair of entertainment here and I’m sure the Thai folks find entertainment value as well 😃
  7. Would expect nothing less from an antisocial individual
  8. Generally most of the complaints I hear and read from Thais are about rude and insulting people
  9. Tough? No. Challenging, absolutely yes. The kind of challenge that one lives for. Though retired, still have a level of interaction, input and involvement in my profession.
  10. Chinese kitchen off Mahidol Padaet area. Don’t know if it’s still open, haven’t been there in a few years but it’s pretty good food.
  11. My home is where I was born and raised on an island in the mid pacific where my remaining family lives, though I haven’t lived there for nearly 50 years. The rest has felt somewhat nomadic, even when living in the same city on the continental US for decades. I consider living in northern Thailand de-facto home for now and probably die here, though my true home is where my first memories reside.
  12. This thread is a cross section of the general mindset of expats here. Good information and reaffirms my general observations over the years.
  13. Though keep in mind, from the extremest left perspective, anything towards the center is extremest right. Their delusion even cuts into RFK Jr
  14. Protons wrapped up in the nuclei of atoms, stardust pre solar grains, hydrogen etc… That info is classified.
  15. The sukhothai, shogun, golden and tangerine varieties here are good, no need to look further.
  16. Of those having a rough time of it negotiating and navigating their time here with Thai folks, then it certainly must be either due to the choice of location and/or how one projects their demeanor. I haven’t experienced negativity with the locals, there’s been misunderstandings that takes a little patience, though never anything that wasn’t resolved amicably and ended with politeness. Though I’m never in a hurry, I’ll stop and talk to a Thai stranger until they’re done with the conversation. If one is living here other than working, then what’s the hurry? Take it easy and enjoy and get out more.
  17. English: “what? No it’s orange”
  18. I see, got it👍. I imagine there’s quite a few now. If I recall correctly, the only member I’ve ever searched for was UbonJoe🙏
  19. According to all my Thai friends, no difference, everything is som, I say tangerine, they say “arai na, mai som”
  20. No hate projected. From this perspective, anymore, this site is for the most part for entertainment purposes. It’s difficult to take most of what individuals put out here seriously, unless of course we hear about other members unfortunate fate. Personally I don’t have interest on viewing other profiles here, it virtually has no value for me here in digital land given that people here are diverse and have different perspectives and backgrounds whether true or false. No misery here😃 life is too much of a joy. And from here on out is all a bonus. Wish you a pleasant day as well and don’t forget to smile and d-krup to strangers
  21. The previous profile is long gone and lost in digital land
