  1. No problems. Thingamabob. I tried to find a collar and bell today, but no luck in my local stores. Other cats I have had did bring "presents" for me, but he really did enjoy eating that bird! Tonight he had some Top Cat "Tuna in Aspic" and some Friskies "Surfin' Favourites", so maybe he won't be so hungry tomorrow!
  2. The poor critter was waiting on the front door mat this morning for his food and started meowing as soon as he heard me in the house. So I don't think he's as dumb as some posters are think he is.
  3. ???? I don't think I need to buy catnip (which is available from pet stores, I read). Half an hour ago he was meowing so loudly outside my closed patio doors that I had to go out and give him some food. Maybe he didn't manage to catch a bird today. ????
  4. It just crossed my mind that maybe they have stopped the SWIFT service FROM their bank and not TO it. They talk about closure of the service on "ktbnetbank.com" which is where I go to check my money, but it is not where I go to do the SWIFT transfer - that is done on the Nationwide site.
  5. After my failed Wise transfer followed by the pathetic "Now that you have confirmed the transaction as genuine, I have removed the block" excuse from Nationwide, I did decide that the next time I did a WISE transfer, I would send them a message the day before to warn them. But while this was being sorted out and before I received the pathetic "unblock" message from Nationwide, I did do another SWIFT transfer. After that one worked, I got a message from Krung Thai bank that I couldn't believe: How can they stop using SWIFT after all these years? So yesterday I went to Krung Thai in Central Festival Phuket. I explained that I wanted to transfer money from England via SWIFT but as soon as I stopped talking she gave me this piece of paper: - which is just the SWIFT code for the bank that I've been using for nearly 20 years. So did nobody tell her that the service was now closed? Maybe I should send a secure message to my UK bank and ask them if they know what's going on. If it's true and Krung Thai want me to use their "Next" phone app, I'll just use another bank in Thailand to receive the money.
  6. This one enjoys his kill. Cat Eating Bird Rotate End crop 400.mp4
  7. For 96 baht I might as well give it a go! ????
  8. The actual remote supplied by Pulse-TV has a lot of buttons and they all light up the little red LED next to the green button at the top. But a lot of them have no effect on the set top box that I have found, e.g. the coloured ones at the bottom! So I don't know how many buttons a new learning remote should have! The "OK" button in the middle is flush with the direction buttons around it, so you can't feel where the "OK" button is, and often hit a direction button at the same time. Stupid design! ????
  9. Interesting: https://www.avma.org/resources/pet-owners/petcare/spaying-and-neutering Surgical alternatives to traditional spaying and neutering The procedures described above are the surgical procedures routinely used to spay or neuter dogs, but some pet owners opt for one of these alternatives: Hysterectomy: the uterus and part of the fallopian tubes are removed from a female dog or cat. This makes her unable to reproduce, but her ovaries remain and will produce hormones. This may not eliminate the dog or cat’s behaviors associated with the breeding instinct.
  10. Exactly what I did to try "Wise" after using SWIFT for 20 years. The first test amount of £50 went through very fast. The second test amount of £1,000 got blocked by Nationwide: After several 8 messages to and from their useless help desk staff who blamed the block on Wise, I eventually got this: Hello, Thank you for your message. Now that you have confirmed the transaction as genuine, I have removed the block from the system; this will allow you to use the card as normal. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Kind Regards, Your Nationwide Financial Crime Team I had to send them the above image of the block to show them that THEY blocked it! Makes me think they did this on purpose to discourage me from using Wise.
  11. I couldn't do it. He looked up at me, meowed a lot because he was hungry, so I fed him. I've added a collar and bell to my shopping list. It might give the birds a bit of a chance.
  12. Reminds me of the system I worked on that was sold to British Telecom - had to be dual redundant with each redundant half housed in buildings further apart than the wing-span of a jumbo jet. ????
  13. Me too! In my "laundry room" (spare bedroom with washing machine in it, and furthest from the router) my tested phone speed was pretty bad and intermittent, so I changed to 2.4GHz band because "it goes through walls better". I've left my phone connected to the 2.4GHz WiFi band from the router, rather than the 5GHz band.
  14. Now THAT is a perfect little remote! Pity I have to pay 1,300 baht extra for the Android box.
  15. Good grief! Sorry to laugh, but that is one hell of a BIG remote! I just want a simple 21 or 25 key remote that I can hold in my hand! But thanks for the idea - I might use that for one of my computers. ????
  16. I was looking at replacing the remotes that I have because the buttons are too close together and it's easy to hit the wrong button or 2 at the same time. As you say, they're only a 100 baht or so for a learning remote on Lazada. In fact, the ones supplied by Pulse-TV are the learning type - they still have the learning instructions on the back! Please can you say which type you bought - there are dozens of them!
  17. Hey, Tippaporn! How about you start your own thread called "Tippaporn's Videos" and let the rest of us get a word in edgeways?
  18. I first heard this at the end of the film "The Sure Thing":
  19. And this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8088823/ Conclusions: Meta-analyses based on 18 randomized controlled treatment trials of ivermectin in COVID-19 have found large, statistically significant reductions in mortality, time to clinical recovery, and time to viral clearance. Furthermore, results from numerous controlled prophylaxis trials report significantly reduced risks of contracting COVID-19 with the regular use of ivermectin. Finally, the many examples of ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality indicate that an oral agent effective in all phases of COVID-19 has been identified.
