  1. Please, somebody tell me about an alternative to TrueVisions!
  2. I recently upload an image and a video: They are both 200 pixels wide and about 300 high. I made them that wide deliberately, so they would appear about the same size. But they didn't. Here they are again: - 200 x 297 200 x 282: Sparky_10_200.mp4 Is there a way to specify the displayed size of the video or adjust it after upload?
  3. Looks like I had better get my Wise transfers sorted out - Krung Thai bank stopped the S.W.I.F.T. "service" on August 1st. How can they just "opt out" of it?
  4. Maybe take a pic of the transformer: ...and a video of what it looks like - and sounds like - at night: Sparky_10_200.mp4
  5. ? I don't think being vaccinated stops you "getting" the virus (i.e. becoming infected with the virus), but it does stop you suffering from the worst outcomes. After all, vaccinated people can spread it to others.
  6. I expect to pay double that, but that would be a first payment, i.e. no history of payments, and I'm the wrong side of 70! ????
  7. I don't think TransferWise was around in those days (2013), but I did try them a couple of months ago and successfully transferred a whopping £50 - just as a test. Then I tried £1,000 and got this: I couldn't be bothered to phone them as it was midnight here, and I haven't bothered trying again. Maybe I should, just to have an alternate way of transferring cash set up.
  8. Chalong is where I tried to open an account. I doubt it is different at any other branch. I would certainly like to hear from any unmarried retiree with an account at any GSB branch.
  9. Yes you are correct. It's also not a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket either. So it's back to plan 2, as I'm not married (legally) or have a Work Permit. Hmmm, but which 5? I currently have: Krung Thai, Krungsri, SCB and Kasikorn. Maybe Bangkok Bank? Not much point worrying about the interest as it's pitiful anyway.
  10. Application rejected at Chalong GSB. Looks like you have to be poor enough to have to work with a permit or daft enough to marry a Thai. Sorry
  11. I used to do that. Until about 3 1/2 months before my next extension, I got a serious leg infection which needed intravenous drips of antibiotics every 6 hours in hospital. My 800K was running out so fast I had to discharge myself so I could S.W.I.F.T. more money over from England. Now I keep a lot more here for emergencies. You never know when a mountain dog is going to lick your leg and infect it.
  12. "getting the virus" ??
  13. Excellent info! Thanks very much. ????
  14. I searched for "solicitor" "Everywhere" - and got two results - your post and mine! ???? I don't think searching for "Will" WILL give what I want. (I did it anyway and got 74 pages!)
  15. If I go to SCB in Chalong, can I take out money from my SCB account that I opened in Central Festival? (That would save a trip to Central.)
  16. Not sure where to post this, but as I live in Phuket.... I want to make a Thai Will using a Thai solicitor and a UK Will using a UK solicitor. My financial adviser reckons that would be the best way to get my finances sorted out when I'm dead. So, has anyone made a Thai Will and did you use a Thai solicitor to do it? Thanks for any information you can give.
  17. And yet, you know about it.
  18. Thanks for the info, guys. From GSB web site: "Details of Interest Rate 1. Less than 30 Million Baht 0.925 % per year". Looks like I'll be paying my SCB lady bank teller a visit soon. ???? (To take out some cash.) But first I'll visit the GSB in Chalong - quite handy as I live in Rawai!
  19. Can somebody explain in layman's terms what it means? Is the below true?: 1. If I have 5 million in one bank, I'll get only 1 million back if the bank goes bust. 2. If I have 1 million in 5 banks, I'll get 1 million back from all 5 banks if they all go bust. ????
