Wise to Krungthai
NoDisplayName replied to Gecko's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Krungthai fees: Fees for receiving money from overseas transfer The Bank fee charges at 0.25% of the total amount transferred, minimum rate at 200 baht but not exceeding 500 baht You were charged the Wise fee, the SWIFT fee, the international transfer fee, and received the lower Krungthai currency exchange rate. Next time have them send baht to your Krungthai account. Small Wise fee, no swift fee, no overseas transfer fee (the money comes from Wise local Thai accounts), and better exchange rate. -

If they used Wise to send a SWIFT, then they have a Wise account, so they could have simply sent the money to your Thai bank using Wise. Wise would deduct a ~ 3.50-pound fee and then convert pounds to baht using the market rate. Then baht would have been deposited into your Thai account from their local account. 500 pounds = 22,750 baht https://wise.com/gb/send-money/ -
Water tank empty daily, no visible water leaking anywhere
NoDisplayName replied to how241's topic in DIY Forum
That's strange. The line from the tank splits......one branch goes to the pump then to the house, the other goes into the ground to unknown? With the pump on, does it cycle for all faucets and toilets? If you turn the pump off, do you get any flow anywhere? -

He's on a 3-wheel e-scooter, not necessarily a disability device. Those can move upwards of 40 km/h. He blew through the intersection without stopping. Idiot. White line/no white line..........no matter. Bicycles and trikes and e-scooters should never assume right-of-way. -

Digging under the house is the last thing you want to do. Install a cutoff valve somewhere before the line goes under the house, or between the tank and the pump to isolate the leak first. -

Second phase of Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project approved
NoDisplayName replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That's expensive. Over US$9 billion Impressive? The Kunming-Vientenne high-speed rail line is 1022 km long, built on schedule in 5 years with 62 km of bridges and 198 km of tunnels. What's impressive is the total cost of US$6 billion. Hub of "Anything you can do, I can keep studying by committee for decades!" -

Do you have a shutoff valve on the line from the tank to the pump? Shut off the outflow from the tank to confirm water level drop. -

Post a photo of the water tank with piping to the pump and then into the house. The water flows thru the supply line outside the tank up to the top where it enters thru a float-operated valve. The water cannot flow back out to the street. Turn off all taps in the house. Does the water pump cycle? If so, then leak under the house. If not, and the water level in the tank drops, then you probably have a crack in the bottom of the tank and the water is draining into the ground. -

Well, there ya go! They sent Euros via SWIFT to your Thai bank. Thus they were charged the SWIFT fee, AND they got the local Thai bank currency conversion rate, NOT the advertised Wise baht rate. -

Whoever sent you the money deducted 25 Euro. You'll have to ask them why. Did they send a Euro SWIFT from their bank to Wise? -

Least Money in Bank.

I believe you can go below 2000 baht for up to a year with no activity before the account is declared inactive and monthly service fees will commence. You can drop to 0 baht and still have one year before the account is closed. I withdrew all funds from a Krungsri savings account, the clerk would not close it at the time, said it would close automatically. It remained open with 0 baht for two years, no activity, no service fees. -
