Open a fixed account with the minimum 2000 baht at the same bank you have 400/800k in savings. Once you get your fixed passbook, hand both to the nice lady at the desk and ask to transfer 400/800k from savings to fixed. You'll have two passbooks showing evidence of the transfer on the day. The transfer is immediate, with no break in maintaining the required balance. You'll need to provide letters and statements from and copies from both accounts next extension.

Yes, you can....but why would you unless switching account sometime during the year? Multiple amounts multiplies the risk of one of the multiple accounts falling just short of the required amount. And then you get to request bank guarantee letters and 3- or 6- or 12-month statements (depending on IO office) for each account.

If you're going to CW for retirement extension or certain other extension services, you can make appointments both for extension and re-entry permit. If you don't want to bother with the appointment system, get a queue number for re-entry just before your extension number is called. Re-entry desk works pretty quickly. Odds are your re-entry number will be called as you're rushing back upstairs with the photocopy of your new extension.
