Aw, c'mon, Steve. You should know how it works by now. If WE do it, it's democratic. When THEY do it, it's subversion.

Ummmm.............Greenland is in NATO, within the Kingdom of Denmark. As of last year, they have diplomatic representation as part of the Danish delegation.

Not random at all, it seems. Busted! Trump’s Greenland Supporters Were Homeless and Socially Disadvantaged People Bribed With Hotel Dinners ...DR News reported on others who were able to identify individuals who traded support for a nice meal at a hotel. Trump's team found one of the men living under a bridge. This isn’t the first time Trump has staged events. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/busted-trump-s-greenland-supporters-were-homeless-and-socially-disadvantaged-people-bribed-with-hotel-dinners/ar-BB1rboRT

Ah, large remittances but no tax return or (like me) filed but not declared? The remittances are in the system, so you are in the system. I suspect they 'might' look at total remittances, match anything over an arbitrary limit, perhaps 5 million baht annual total, to find a matching return. That would be a separate office looking for potential money laundering, and would kick suspect records out for further investigation. They know about DTA's, they know about non-assessable income. Unlikely they'll bother with non-reporting foreigners with remittances totaling under a million or two.

If you receive Thai-source income and have tax withheld, you ARE in the system. Income paid and taxes withheld are reported. TRD simply needs to match your name/ID number on your return to the information in the database they receive from BOT, compiled from the reports they receive from banks and brokerages and employers. If your records are in the database, your data can be confirmed and your return approved quickly. If not, supporting documentation will be requested.

Googles was helpful. Looked into valve replacement in India, Thailand, Singapore, and a few others. Plenty of websites to get started. Some offer complete packages. And you can contact hospitals direct to avoid agent fees. Thailand was much more expensive. Cost was a factor, as I was paying out of pocket. My costs are out of date (2008), but my total for hospital fees, test, surgery, valve, airfare from China, one week oceanfront resort to recover was US$12K. A quick googles gives prices of US$4-7K currently for the operation. I also went with the beefsteak valve to avoid lifetime warfarin.

Not likely access to the actual bank/brokerage accounts. They would have access to annual/semi-annual reports filed with BOT/RD from banks/brokerages detailing name, Id number, income, tax withheld. When I filed 3 returns late last year, 2023 was approved immediately, as TRD had the annual data available. But bank withholding statements were requested for 2021 and 2022, indicating prior years (and actual bank/broker databases) were not readily available.

I filed my 2567 return online last Saturday, using the Thai forms of course. Only income listed was Thai-sourced interest and dividends. Remittances were non-assessable, so not declared. Requested full refund of all taxes withheld. Return was accepted, printed out final copy and tax receipt. Checked online status this evening, status is "approved and refunded." Once the refund letter is printed, I should get an SMS notifying that a refund has been mailed. Expect to receive that in 2-3 weeks. No upload of documentation required (bank withholding statement, dividend receipts). TRD appears to have access to bank and brokerage databases to confirm my submission.

If you visit the Ark Encounter (full size Noah's ark replica) Museum in Kentucky, you can see displays of how early Xtians were sentenced to death by being forced to battle dinosaurs in the Roman coliseum. According to the Answers in Genesis film "Paradise Lost," before the fall Tyrannosaurs coexisted with Adam and Eve and ate watermelons. Gosh, whodathunk the Flintsones was a documentary!

Assume that's a valve replacement, not a stent? Have you looked into surgery in India? I had my aortic valve replaced at Apollo in Chennai, at the time was much more affordable than Thai hospitals. From your price quote, that doesn't seem to have changed. If you shop around you can probably get the whole package, including flights and recovery time at a resort there for 'bout half the price.

These forms are not same-same! I have my receipt copies of 2023 an d 2024 Thai forms submitted online. I've noticed one change so far on page 2, No.3 Assessable Income under 40(4). 2023 #5 Income from sale of units of SSF (super savings fund) #6 other 2024 #5 Income from sale of units of SSF (super savings fund) #6 Income from sale of units of ESG (sustainable growth fund) #7 other The English version of 2023 PND.90 does not match the Thai version. #5 Income from sale of units of SSF (super savings fund) #6 does not exist. Wonder if anyone has gone line-by-line comparing English and Thai hardcopy tax forms to see what other discrepancies exist.

Gosh, maybe even as much mineral wealth as Afghanistan. You think Trump will sign a surrender treaty that goes into effect under his successor, like he did last time?

What a great plan! Kidnap a (semi) famous actor/model to work in your phone scam center, calling Chinese speakers who would know that the (semi) famous person calling them to sell crypto timeshares has been kidnapped. Somebody needs a new publicity agent. -

What difference, at this point, does it make? Biden has already set (p)recedent for keeping a drooling, senile, depends-filler as leader of the free world. Make America Geriatric Again!

Does Trump completely lack decency and compassion?
NoDisplayName replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
Well, it is Trump's fault, in a way. The offal discharge from millions of liberal skulls exploding is apparently inflammable, one of the many 'mostly peaceful' rioters/looters must have sparked the current conflagration, possibly even sparks from an illegal alien drive by shooting could have set it off. But it's all okay, we "need to give them space to burn." -
Call TRD helpline #1161 for clarification. TINs are for humans without Thai identification numbers, or companies and juristic persons. Your pink ID does have a Thai identification number, one which you use for tax filing. The TRD person at Sathorn Rd is misinformed. What's the need for an "expat desk", besides offering (hopefully!) English language support? Many of us have visited TRD offices and filed in person just like ordinary Thai citizens.

You are quite obviously wrong about Trump. He's a very smart man, and most definitely not unstable. He said it himself, so it must be true! In a series of tweets, Trump defended his mental fitness and boasted about his brains, saying he is “like, really smart” and “a very stable genius.” https://apnews.com/article/2bb960fda0264c488d454632628cb193
