Just wondering where you live. Usually in Rayong area the cars/motorbikes start moving only AFTER 2/5 seconds the green light ! Probably because they are used to have many people passing with yellow/red on the other sides (seems the case of this accident). Seems more and more people don't want to stop and wait 5 or more minutest for the red. Maybe time to adopt westener traffic light rules, meaning the green on 2 opposite ways in the X intersection, instead of 1 green at each side, so you get only 1/3 of time waiting

Ste78 replied to KhunBENQ's topic in General Topics
I ordered recently and got the new tax applied. Actually it was around 15% value of goods instead of 7%, but how to complain? -

What can be done to make Thai Roads safer?
Ste78 replied to Scott's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
usage of lights at night would be a good starting point: with my daughter we alway play the game at night time to count how many motorbikes/car don't have light and we count at least 10 in 5 km in Rayong area. another point would be to use correct line, especially in motorway: when 3 lines, also the police escort tourist busses in 3rd lane, makes no sense. then 1st line usually empty so fast car use it which is dangerous observe a MINIMUM speed. most of the time it's not necessary for Thai the speed limit, because also in motorway they go slow. a minimum speed or 80/100 dependending on the lane would help, because sometimes you get cars going 60/80 in faster lane, which cause traffic. helmet is a big question mark. they use the mask but cannot see how dangerous or lethal can be fall down from motorbike? -
1 exact year we have Neta V in the family, made 18k. around 50km daily plus some extra in the weekend, we charge every 3 days with slow charger at home (have plenty of time...) just to keep in the optimal range 20-80%. service was done at 10k , for free we only had problem with the SW slightly inclined probably due to a hole on street: fixed quickly at mechanic paid by us. had a proximity sensor not working recently, waiting to get it replaced in warranty perfect for short distance, when you stuck in the traffic consumption is very low. In the highway at 110kmh, the estimated km becomes half ! i am 1.88 tall, my wife 1.55 and both no problems to drive the car (she used daily but I like to drive it much more than our big SUV diesel). being the at the same price of entry car ICE, I see no reason not to buy it, considering you will save at least 3/4 times for pretrol (6x cheaper than my SUV which doest 10km/l)

In fact, I was in wondering when an EV Pick-up would hit the market. Since it's a very common type of 'car' in LOS, in particular in small towns and coutryside, they could have big sales wihout other direct EV competitors

I went to Bangkok Bank yesterday: I have been living and working in Thailand for years, but they said I am not entitled to buy the bond. Since I don't own an house/apartment here (resident Visa), I am not considered resident (I have working Visa). Even if I have an actual resident certificate and pay tax here !?!

what was the original meaning of this ban? not buying alcohol outside already not drinking hours... I don't see the point. is it actually prohibited 2-5pm at the bar?! never understood why during shopping at Big C in the afternoon I could not buy some beers to drink during the next days. that's not the 7/11 that you usually buy small quantity and possibly drink immediately

I need to park the car for 20 days. A couple of years ago the operator at long-term parking told me there is some kind of 1 month ticket, cost 1000b. Anyone know about it?

rent a house purchased through a company
Ste78 replied to Ste78's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I thank everyone for useful suggestions. @sungod so I can rent, provided that I remove this house as the official address for the company. For extension, one can have several houses and rent them all? @YaDongImproved The problem setting up a new company, you need to create the business as well; but your comment is clear ^_^ I would also start looking for accountant in primis -
Current speeding fines and punishment in Thailand.
Ste78 replied to notrub's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
got fine at automatic camera, fine always 500b regardless of speed when the limit is exceeded -
I hear some lawyer / accountants may sell the company already running a business, which would be the best because only necessary to change some ownership name

hello, I've been living and working in LOS for a few years now, tired of waste money on rent 25k month. Found a nice villa in a small city, so I ask for advice on where to go to open a company (or take over an existing one) and then buy a house. I know I can only get 49% stakes, that's why I need a reliable lawyer / accountant. thanks!

I asked for this during last holidays to several operators which have advertising along the beach: I was quoted 3500/4000b ONE WAY. 6000 if return

terrible experience. my mother with assistance had been brought to the wrong gate in Jedda and lost the flight. Big confusion from Saudia and no one gave her a phone to inform me. Only later an employee gave his phone with Whatsapp but not even working properly. In the end she was brought to hotel and caught the flight 24h later! I had to call directly the hotel because it seems it did not have wifi

Suggestion apply comprehensive insurance for tyre
Ste78 replied to Ste78's topic in Car Insurance Options
the insuranse guy came, took photos and said it was covered, even if damage by hitting a sidewalk. but we have not contacted the other number he gave us to proceed with the claim -
Hello, I got a tyre cut on sidewalk for Neta V (the car came with full insurance from shop) I have replaced 2 tyres with Michelin (8400b) but they would refund just 1 tyre for the original chinese, meaning only 2000b. Do you think it makes sense to get this amount, or this would increase too much the insurance price next year? thanks
