  1. I think some posters assumed I live in Thailand with my response to this OP. I should have clarified that my home is in California and my lifestyle is different than the ex-pats in LOS. I'm happy for those who have EV in Thailand and it's working out for them.
  2. you are right, I don't live in Thailand. everything else you posted has nothing to do with my lifestyle. I'm glad it works out for you.
  3. If I never hear sandbox and Phuket in one sentence ever again, it would be too soon!!!
  4. I am the last guy to defend Chinese products, but in China you can buy a solid EV for 10k USD. Japanese and American EV are better quality, but they are too damn expensive for what you get. they tried to justify the price with all these hi-tech gadgets you don't really need. until the mileage range on EV increase, more charging stations become available, and prices come down to reasonable levels, I won't entertain the idea of buying one.
  5. that would hurt the pristine reputation of Thailand. 🤣
  6. Thai basher?? Far from it. I'm married to a Thai and have beautiful mixed Thai children. On top of that, I'm of S E. Asian descent. I guess you can't detect sarcasm in my original post. It's ok. Have a pleasant day.
  7. Who would have thought cheap Thai laborers were vital to Finland's berry industry. S. Korea's manufacturing or Israel's agriculture. Thailand has lots of problems, chief among them is the lack of entry level job opportunities that can provide adequate pay for its citizens to survive without having to leave the country to look for low paying jobs elsewhere.
  8. Thai police bever missed a photo opportunity!! You would think they were involved in arresting a dangerous gang with that many staff in the picture
  9. Ypur typical Thai usually settles disputes or disagreement with violence. It's in their DNA.
  10. Thailand, the hub of falling off balconies. It's like an unspoken epidemic for natives and foreigners alike.
  11. In other words, " let them eat cake!!" , right Tony?? You can tell with each passing day, the man is becoming more emboldened. It won't be long now he'll be the face of Thai politics.
  12. Lol!!! Thier votes don't matter. It never did. Look at last year's fiasco and election farce! Democracy in Thailand is only by name Period!!
  13. These tourism articles come out daily which makes me believe the tourism sector is more vital to their economy that we are led to believe. I don't think I've seen a country put all their advertising and marketing eggs on getting vistors to come to their soil as much as Thailand. It's quite funny and alarming at the same time
  14. Don't forget Viet Nam. Heck, Myanmar would give them a fight for their money especially with their arm forces battling rebels for the last four decades.
  15. Phiphat claims most came to S. Korea through legal channels which implies the rest arrived illegally. With that said, he wants S. Korea to grant amnesty for every Thai across the board. He's got some nerve. The veracity and hypocrisy in this scandalous regime is mind blowing
  16. The only thing Thailand can claim as a powerhouse in anything is the P4P industry.
  17. I expect a visit to Bangkok's finest soapie massage in short order to show us all his health is indeed back to normal!!
  18. Improving economy???? Every other day, a new article comes out talking about how the stalemate economy is going nowhere and jet setter Sretta flying around the world begging for investments to kick start the slump Thailand is in.
  19. Next thing they want will be the pre fight ritual in Muay Thai to be on the Unesco Heritage list.
  20. Agree 100 % , but this is Thailand. They just can't stand having a bad reputation. Heaven forbid that their perfect country has a bad mark regarding any matter.
