the very fact that this case is reappearing a decade or more later is a travesty, but it's the Thailand justice system we're talking about here. unfortunately, this latest development with all defendants fleeing will not garner much attention from the media and the country as a whole because at its core, most Thai people remembered this tragedy as nationalistic issue. bottom line, it's a Buddhist vs Muslim battle for the control of the southern provinces. Thai will view the defendants as heroes doing their job to protect the sovereignty of their kingdom.

it's never enough. I posted something a while back in regard to tourism and the GNP. it seems at the moment the government has hit a wall on to stimulate a stagnant economy. tourism seems to be their only golden goose at the moment so therefore all the eggs are piling up in one basket.

very true. most Thai women that hooked up with East Asian men are usually of Chinese descent or Thai /Chinese mixed. You have the occasional luk kreung type that also preferred East Asian men too. If you ever patronized Bacarra on Walking Street, you quickly noticed most of the go go dancers all have the same plastic surgery which consist of the more or less Korean style image (diamond shape head, fake enlarged eyes). The majority of the girls are white, or light skinned. Anyway, the place is a magnet for Japanese and Korean customers who are there to bar fine Thai women who looked like East Asian women. It's the best of both worlds for the two parties.

In all seriousness, whenever the topic of Indian men and Thai working women come up, the most likely response from this forum is Thai women in general do not prefer Indian or South Asian men. That stereotype is simple false. Not only do they go with them because money is money, quite a few wind up marrying them as well. Marriage between the two groups occurs with non-working girls too. So, stop with this nonsense about Thai women's preference and such. If Thai women are hitching up with questionable Nigerian and African men, all bets are off on their " selectiveness".

I flew Condor for the first time last summer to France. The first leg to Frankfurt was a new Airbus A330-900 Neo. It was nicely equipped, and the crew were wonderful. The flight back from Frankfurt to SFO was an older Airbus and it was below par in terms of amenities and latest tech etc. Other than that, the tickets for a family of 4 was reasonable for an overseas vacation. I will fly with them again if the opportunity presents itself.

What is it to know about Pattaya that hasn't been already discussed on this board and various Pattaya boards over the last 20 years?? Furthermore, YouTube has more videos and vlogs on Pattaya than pretty much any city on Earth at the moment. I believe at this point and time; the Thai gov't and its private sectors are at a loss on what to do to enhance or generate revenue for the stagnant economy other than to put all their collective eggs in the tourism basket. It seems everything they report, and implement is all going to tourism.

Honestly, no country worth their salt takes Thailand's political apparatus seriously anymore. If she is ousted, it just confirms even more so what a joke Thailand is when it comes to political stability. In the long run, DFI and any businesses interest in LOS will undoubtedly pull back or pull out. Ultimately, it hurts the average citizen and the growth of this struggling economy. Of course, the HiSo and the monarchy are not affected one bit!!
