    that is sad and disappointing to hear. I truly believe the Thai psyche have been conditioned and basically brainwashed to believe that The Chinese can do no wrong. Thais envy the work ethics, family dynamics, business acumen and ambitious nature of the Chinese and regard them as saviors of their country's economy, political system and wealthy elites.

    This is one of the truest statements ever made on this forum. My Thai wife fits this bill. She and most Thais have always something negative to say about Khmer, Lao, Burmese and Malays from the southern provinces, but she rarely has anything bad to say about the Chinese in LOS.

    the irony here is Thailand can't even guarantee safety for their own people. if the gov't, RTP and local officials just exercise a bit more of their assigned duties, the difference would be very noticeable.

    We are visiting France this June, I don't know who has more arrogant bravado, the Arabs in France or the ones in Thailand. my Thai wife can't them with a passion.

    Da Nang in about 10 years' time will rival Sai Gon and Ha Noi as the major center for business, technology, and tourism in Viet Nam. the gov't has put forth a concerted effort to transform Da Nang into a green city that is livable for both locals and ex pats. It's a clean city considering its growing size.

    Not true. Bookings.com, Hotel.com, Agoda as well as lesser-known booking sites have options to either pay online/in advance or reserved the room and pay later (either closer to the arrival date or pay at check-in.) I rarely pay in advance unless the deal is too good to pass up.
