    I believe at this point and time; the Thai gov't and its private sectors are at a loss on what to do to enhance or generate revenue for the stagnant economy other than to put all their collective eggs in the tourism basket. It seems everything they report, and implement is all going to tourism.

    Honestly, no country worth their salt takes Thailand's political apparatus seriously anymore. If she is ousted, it just confirms even more so what a joke Thailand is when it comes to political stability. In the long run, DFI and any businesses interest in LOS will undoubtedly pull back or pull out. Ultimately, it hurts the average citizen and the growth of this struggling economy. Of course, the HiSo and the monarchy are not affected one bit!!

    Indeed. the first king of the current dynasty invited Chinese immigrants en masse to settle in Siam. He believed that their business acumens and resourcefulness was needed to develop Siam into a modern nation. He also encouraged the Chinese to freely marry the native population as to enrich and enlighten the Thai DNA if you know what I mean.

    I was not referring to this particular article. I was referencing to the past practice of the Thai government and her people's penchant for claiming all things Thai even though it was created or built by the Khmer culture. the dispute over Preah Vihear is a prime example.
