  1. Depends what it is and where it is. If you go to a concert you expect loud noise. On the other hand in a restaurant low level background music is appropriate.
  2. Why not set up reciprocal agreements between countries? That way payment would not be an issue.
  3. Castrate the guy, without anaesthetic then jail him for 20+ years
  4. It hasnt changed except that the Chinese think their laws apply to every country. There is also a few good follow up videos regarding just who those Chinese people are and what they do. None of it would possibly as it seems for the video at least in terms of the Chines people.
  5. How about some context? Are the people affected suffering from bad health before getting Covid? What is the age of the people infected? This could end up as a cold is looked on as a killer disease which it isn't. The post seems overly dramatic. This time of the year people catch colds.
  6. Hacking your data, password etc. If you have it on your phone it can be hacked.
  7. You are correct it is but it doesn't alter the security it offers
  8. I did ask a couple of the companies and both said the same thing "We don't take such things into account any more" and they want us to consider them as professional?
  9. Thailand does have a dog problem no question about that but many I think are the result of unfit owners. Anyone who has a dog should have to take care of the animal not let it run around. Should have all the vaccinations required and anyone ignoring the requirements have aa heavy fine imposed on them. No excuses to be accepted. I see many dogs, some in bad condition due to neglect of their owner, with collars on and it is not a good thing to see. Until the owners are made to take reasonability for them then I cant see any way other than putting them down. A very sad option yes but possibly better for the animal.
  10. Yes they are but that only suggests more awareness of a customers conditions before they agree to insuring them.
  11. There are many issues related to this sort of incident and I am very sorry for those that are caught by these thieves. If the money, and presumably it was , paid through a bank then the bank can take action and they can get the police involved since there has been a physical loss i.e. the money. I dont know how the messages came for this scam but if email look at the email address in and report it to the email company. Can you clarify as to what information you have regarding this scam? It may be easier to gather some information from it. In the mean time I would report it with all documentation you have to the bank and register a fraud with the police.
  12. Scanning and cardless (using your phone) can be subject to hacking as well. NFC commonly used is well known for being prone to data theft.
  13. With talk of a cashless society and the wide spread use of credit and/or debit cards the question of security is bound to arise. In the past a very simple protocol was used to connect from your ATM or Card Reader to the host server for authentication and approval of the transaction. In the past RS-232 was used but now the protocol used is ISO 8583 a much more robust protocol for handling transactions. So, does this eliminate possible theft from transactions? Well, no it won’t. Granted it will be harder for hackers to gain access to the information on your card but hackers are considerably more intelligent than banks and especially governments. They may hack into the network and download all your information which many hackers have done on many so-called secure links. Once in the data can easily be harvested by them and either used by the hacker or sold on to others who will access accounts and do the nasty for which they are famed. Before we want to obliterate all hackers lets step back and see the type of hackers that exist. There are essentially 2 types (there is a third type but they fall between the two I will list here). Type 1. The white hat hacker – these people hack systems to find vulnerabilities and pass the information to the originating company to the whole can be closed Type 2. The Black hat hacker – these are the bad guys. These people will hack a system for personal gain either by using the information themselves or selling it to others who will use it for themselves. So, how will this affect the “Cashless Society”? Simple the more information that is in digital form the more incentive for hackers to gain access to it. With a cash society it is difficult to hack a person. Credit cards can be stolen and “skimmed” which is a nice word for reading all the information embedded in your credit card. The devices used for this can be found in the darker corners of the web. Word of warning do not go there. A lot of people you would not invite for dinner hang out there. Countries, and governments in particular, are proposing cashless society. This is not a great idea. At present there are serious problems with hackers in every country of the world. Surely, we don’t want to give them a bigger field to play in by going cashless, do we? Every day you read that someone lost money to a hacker accessing their phone or computer and emptying their bank account. My opinion is yes, by all means use your credit card but also use cash. As the saying goes Cash is King and it should remain as such for the foreseeable future
  14. I would encourage them to question anything they are unsure of. Maybe you prefer being a member of the sheep family, in which case baaaaa
  15. Impossible to know too much but it is a problem to know too little.
  16. Part of education is challenging the teacher, unfortunately they are not encouraged to do this. Until challenges can be made by the students little progress will be made.
  17. It is reasonable that they should know any existing conditions before agreeing to insure you.
  18. You think so? You should be paying a fair price based on your situation i.e. if you have a chronic illness or if you have 100% illness free. These prices should not be the same. For me I consider the insurance companies are adopting the stance that they will decide if they want to pay out in the event of a claim and will no doubt say the insured should have made them aware the they have liver problems and a bad heart when they took the policy out, hence will not pay. This bordering on criminal. No initial checks upon which a assessment can be made but having received your money decide later if they want to pay or now. The only risk management is on the part of the insurance customer.
  19. She needs to start thinking if this is what happened. Who in their right mind would put expensive items in their check in luggage? I can believe she is an actress as they are almost all entitled brats. Of course nothing like that happens in Thailand except I remember when a lot of airport employees in baggage handling were sacked for stealing from checked in bags.
  20. A friend of mine recently asked me if I could help as he wants medical insurance but is not great using computers, so I agreed. I went into this thinking the Insurance was basically Risk Management but was I wrong. I had several insurance companies send me application forms having explained the situation of my friend. Not one company had any interest in knowing if he had health problems, drank, took drugs, smoked etc. Can anyone explain how you can perform a Risk Management assessment when, and they made this obvious, they are not interested in your current habits or current health status. It appears you could be 5' 6" weigh 300 lbs, smoke 100 cigarettes a day, drink 20 pints and never exercise, yet if you are 30 you still have the same premium. My opinion is Insurance companies have no interest in your health but base everything on age, and the chances are if you claimed for anything they would find a way of getting out of payment. Like to hear others opinions on this.
  21. Just look up what you want to know on the internet there are lots of sites for Windows 11 tips available.
  22. Dont you think a Thai would have to pass their exams in the Thai language? Would sound normal to me.
  23. Thanks for confirming my understanding
  24. In order for a foreign doctor to practice medicine in Thailand, from what a doctor has told me, is that they have to pass the medical exam in the Thai language. This may not be correct but that is what a doctor told me.
