  1. Can you sleep on the step outside a 7-eleven enjoying the aircon blasting thorugh the sliding door? When you can do that withiout being kicked, then you've attained your rightful place in Thai society.
  2. They probably respect the tourists. It's just these long-time, low-budget or broke-assed farang squatters, digital pikeys and pension refugees without the proverbial pot who they're rightfully dismissive of.
  3. Actually I was acknowledging the opinions of the 'nobodies' that do appear to know what they are talking about. Then there's this.
  4. They've been meeting with business leaders from all sectors of Thai industry, attending rallies and other events and gladhanding with all sorts of entities so what's stopping them showing some concern here?
  5. About a week or more late. What's a "week or more" when the election was 86 days ago? Anyway, it's great to see Thailand's future PM doing the needful and looking truly statesmanlike while he's at it. BTW, has anyone from the Pita Platoon or the Srettha Syndicate bothered to visit? Platitudes offered maybe? No?
  6. Loving the forum's nascent construction expertize on this thread.
  7. The starboard side of the vessel allided with the port wall, ie. the vessel's hull hit the wall of the port. No mention of the vessel's port side at all. Maybe you need tutoring on basic nautical terminology from your sailor girlfriend?
  8. Committee findings will reflect that the port wall was in the wrong place hence causing the collision.
  9. That's why the are going to carry out a "thorough" post-mortem. The regular ones tend to miss broken hearts.
  10. Damp course. Check. Rainy season. Check. Wallpaper?
  11. So now his family (and anyone else in Spain who gives a fig) will know he pimped himself into a homosexual relationship as well as committing homicide. Here's hoping there are no more damning revelations to sully his family's name such as claiming to have two girlfrinds at the same time or driving a scooter without a license. What's the Spanish word for muppet?
  12. Exactly. There have been several posts here by "experts" saying immigration don't care when the reality is they will care when a red flag from a court order pops up in their immigration database that tells them to. Yes it will cost the landlord money but the OP (who seems to have vanished anyway) has no idea if his 'bad vibe' landlord has the money and/or connections that make pursuing it in court worthwhile. Over in Malaysia, the authorities are clamping down on their own nationals who work offshore or overseas but are delinquent on their personal tax affairs. They find themselves being denied exit at ports and airports by, wait for it... immigration officers, who refer them to the revenue department. No passport seizure needed as the red flag makes it as usefull as a bank passbook.
  13. Where do the credit agencies get this address information on ANYONE from? Now back to the hypothetical customer who now lives overseas and has successfully opened an account at the SDFCU with NO home address information requested or given. What would show as his credit score when he logs in?
  14. That's your account login where you have an address on file with them? I wonder what shows as their credit score when a new customer who has not supplied an address logs in?
  15. Thanks for that clarification. Nice quirk if you qualify! Don't the credit bureau's need an address(es) in order to assess one's credit history? In the UK, if one registers on the voter's roll (confirms one's fixed abode?), it apparently works towards enhancing one's credit rating.
  16. This suggests that if you already have an account in good standing with a SDFCU you may be denied. Did any of these people suggest why it was declined? May not have been a credit issue. What address do you have as your SDFCU account address? AFAIK, the closest that any bank card issuer came to having a global view on credit worthiness were those that subscribed to HSBC's 'global' account malarkey and moved around. Does SDFCU allow an account with a Thai address? Most US banks, same as UK banks, want a domestic 'home' address. The only people that seem to get a break on domicile are those wishing to open 'wealth management' accounts with the likes of Citibank in Singapore where $200,000+ assures that you can live anywhere and not have to worry about credit checks.
  17. So you keep saying but it's funny how you've missed how the police have to buy the way up their promotion path. That's why all the top ranks are stuffed with the most honest, professional and capable officers ensuring that law enforcement is number one. At my oldest lads last school, the head of their English Department notably couldn't read or write the language. I wonder how she managed to get that position?

Storm in a noodle bowl (again).
  19. Ah, OK. You're a Thailand neophyte after all. No worries and thanks for the clarification. "we".... LOL
  20. You serious? In Thai local government? In ANY Thai government work? They only hire the most qualified people? And there was me thinking that you've been around Thailand for a while. Sheesh...
  21. Don't be so harsh on yourself. It's OK not to be a lunchtime lush.
