  1. How do they think they can get this muck through undetected these days with sophisticated x rays, sniffer dogs and testing substances machines?
  2. Just remembered posting some masks back home last year from the same PO, no ID asked for no address on the back and no form to fill in. Inconsistency is consistent here. Don't recall ever putting return address on items in the UK, certainly never for personal mail.
  3. cockpit told us about 4 years ago they needed doing but Toyota never mentioned it on a service, seems a but rough when the car goes over the traffic humps and rough surfaces
  4. Living the dream ???? hate the place myself and would never go back
  5. Toyota Vios 10 years old only done 54k, but over a lot of rough roads. Feels like time to replace the shock absorbers, but which and all four or just the front, what about price? Want to avoid dealer and places like cockpit as local mechanics and buying the parts yourself is far cheaper, unless you make a mistake with what you. buy. Are TOKICO Standard Shock Absorber Gas Type any good?
  6. Like many other official places varies from office to office and person to person, day to day. You can of course say anything.
  7. If not for a different car could have been my mrs We had a taxi driver years ago of the type who never shut up and tell you thier life story. Before driving his taxi he said he drove for a company- never had a driving licence in his life.. Said he did not need one and anyway why waste 500 baht on a bit of plastic!
  8. What about privacy and security? I don't want an envelope to my bank containing financial details to have my name and address on it, nor to be crossed referenced to my passport with more details.
  9. only one station manned out of 5, normally it's packed with people. I wonder what the process is in N Korea? ????
  10. Second rate cover musician. Thai music is one of the most varied in the world and head and shoulders more interesting than western rock. Thai music is not mostly pop, luktung, morlam, phua cheewit, klikay kantrum etc are not pop. When it comes to Thai playing western rock I have seen some kids as good as Lam Morrison. Good luck to him anyway. Goes to our local school
  11. Simple one sheet letter to bank back home, probably a couple of years since I went to local post office, surprisingly empty today. They never wanted ID here for letters just for packets and parcels, don't have passport so mrs gives him her ID. Then he wants me to write my name and address on the back, I refuse. Mrs signs the back after that a green form is produced, assume customs. He tells me have to write down what it is- a letter to my bank, not good enough he wants to know what about, <deleted> none of their business, so mrs scribbles something on it. Then the cost has gone up from 24 baht to 46 these days. Is Bangkok now the hardest place in the world to post a letter from? If you had the stamps you could just chuck it in the postbox! Not surprised it was empty.
  12. Everyone in the UK is offered screening for colon cancer when they reach 60. They send a test kit every two years. I think it only tests for blood being present, but it might be more than that these days
  13. Thank goodness for Ricky Gervais, he has not caved into the perpetually offended
  14. Gambling, smoking, won't dress up as a schoolgirl or nurse ????
  15. Took the staff at my branch over 2 hours to get it to work a few weeks ago, so not a lot of faith in it.
  16. Was on a visa run bus once when the cops stopped it and looked for something to fine the driver for. As it was a new bus they could not find anything so in the end told him to sound the horn- fined 500 baht for not being loud enough !
  17. Bkk agents more likely use Khon Kaen and other up country offices, all illegal of course if you do not live there
  18. I would starve to death if not, mrs does not cook!
  19. Thought about insuring a few years ago, saved 250k now by not doing so and now the premiums would be about 100k a year at my age. No brainer, don't give your money to insurance companies, who may go bust by the time you need them anyway.
  20. Makes me a far less of a supporter than the hypocrites who don't care about the suffering the CCP are responsible for, and who will buy anything 100% from CCP land
  21. Never heard of them until Tim Newton said he had bought one. Amazing the amount of CCP supporters there are on here.
  22. Mrs nephew did an electrical course at Mongkut then got a job at Mahidol dentistry centre. Now he's working illegally in Korea, on a farm!
