Filipina's Viral Video Criticising Thai Women Sparks Backlash
Keeps replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
These days I'm more interested in a good meal rather than getting my balls wet so I'll happily stick with Thailand over the Philippines. -
The bookies have Trump priced at 1/80. Harris 33/1. All done and dusted then?

Wasn't in Lamai on Samui was it? -
You are spot on regarding Vicario. Some of the saves he makes are outstanding. He has been found out though regarding set pieces. Players crowd him now and he automatically thinks he has been fouled and doesn't react as he should. VAR finds him out time after time. Wouldn't swap him for anyone else though due to his shot stopping .

As Spurs are already deep into the EFL cup I'd certainly take that one although they will probably have to play Arsenal or Liverpool to lift it. I'd hate to lose to Arsenal in the semis or final. Small matter of getting past Man utd first...... Be nice to win the Europa League. I think that gives you automatic entry into the champions league? I just think Spurs are too inconsistent to actually win enough games in any one competition to actually lift the trophy. You get a performance against Palace one week then the performance against Villa the next. Very frustrating. Might have to wait until 2031 for the FA cup....

Backlash as Popular Sandwich Chain Cancels Franchise Locations

Getting back to Subway. I was always suspicious of their claims on the foot long sub. I had my own quality control method in the shop by lobbing out my knob and making sure the sub was exactly 4 times the size... -

I did get one from pizza company years ago under order of the Mrs. It was a seafood monstrosity where the sauce appeared to be mainly jizz. I ate the box and let her have the rest. -
My Nigerian Prince mate's offer is probably not looking so attractive now.

The green one is pizza company that is really crap. The red one is pizza hut that is marginally less crap. Or is it the other way round on crapness? I get confused. -

I recently went to one on Latkrabang, ordered, got all the fillings then they told me no cash. Only had cash on me as cards were in the hotel. Agree that not all outlets are like this but this one certainly was. Left without my Sub. -

How many times do you need telling that the guy you are referring to was German? Are you really that dim or have you got Alzheimer's? -
I totally agree. It sounds harsh but give them the merest of sustenance etc. I doubt they were feasting where they came from so it's not a step down. Apparently, and it is widely reported, as soon as they are put somewhere after processing, they are provided with takeaways from various establishments (pizzas etc - no doubt taking into account their religious beliefs and dietary requirements - (nah, I don't like mushrooms on my pizza). Stop making it appealing to come and perhaps the word might filter through to others. It shouldn't be enjoyable - it should be parity with where they have come from without the persecution and violence (supposedly)...

Legal migrants often work in agriculture. They seem particularly happy to do so. Often Eastern European. It's not the best paying manual labour but they work hard and send money home to their family and by many reports, improve their lifestyle in their country of origin for themselves and their families. Sadly, a lot of UK residents would view this work as 'too back-breaking ' and would prefer to be receiving benefits. This enables them to sit on their sofa all day, smoke tabs and drink 2 litre bottles of 'tramp juice ' (strong cider to those who don't know). That is equally as sad. The benefits system makes work very unappealing to many people. The illegal immigrants however get free housing, fed, watered, benefits, phone top-ups (so they can phone their mates and tell them how easy it is to get to the UK and just what they will get) and then fornicate like rabbits so they can double up or triple up on the benefits). That's the main difference.

My Thai Mrs understands sarcasm perfectly well. She often punches me violently in the face when I am sarcastic towards her.

Did you know that Norman Wisdom was a comedic and cultural icon in Albania? Boring but true. 555 He was one of only a handful of Western actors who was allowed to ply his trade whilst Albania was under the rule of the communist dictator Enver Hoxha. Norman's tag line was 'Mr Grimsdale' who was a bit pompous and Norman's nemesis in the films he starred in as 'Pitkin'. I did warn you it was boring. But still true.

I've got a mate who is a Nigerian prince. Just had a word with him and he said he'll transfer you $1,000,000 if you just send him the ticket. Interested? That aside, I've just won £100 for the second month on the trot on the UK premium bonds. Hadn't had a sniff though for 18 months prior to that.

If they are truly escaping persecution etc then they should in theory be 'happy' with their first port of call that will accept them and provide relief from their persecution. The vast majority are economic migrants who have heard that the UK is the land of milk and honey. They hear 'free money, free food, free housing - what's not to like?' I'm not saying other European countries have not accepted their fair share. There are massive problems in the likes of France, Germany, Sweden and no doubt many other European countries. How on earth though can they make it all the way to the UK? It's an island that shouldn't be easily accessible by illegal means. The French border force have a lot to answer for. All the while that the UK is giving them millions of pounds to prevent the influx. There has been plenty of recorded evidence of the French border patrols casually puffing on a gualoises whilst allowing the traffickers to launch their boats. Why don't the UK border force boats escort them back to a beach in France? Instead they escort them to a beach in the UK and every day hundreds, if not thousands arrive to be another burden on the UK taxpayer. If we say there has been 30,000 land so far this year. There is a website (sorry, don't have the link to hand but easy to find) that provides the estimated population of cities and towns in the UK. Look it up, look around the 30k mark and find a City or town near where you live or come from. That will provide you with a far more accurate size of the influx during ONE year. You will be surprised and most probably horrified.

Wow! That must have been a right PITA. If you can't even get a family of BIB to sort it out or even care then what hope have you got? I notice that you used the past tense - DID live there....

I certainly wouldn't have let the guy peel off the protective film from the screen. That is one of life's greatest pleasures.

I agree. A friend of mine shops there for his business of restaurant/bar. His card is scanned so he can obtain the detailed invoice to provide to his accountant for tax purposes etc. I don't know whether the accountant can reclaim any VAT/tax/write-offs or similar on his behalf when preparing his annual accounts. When I shop there as a non business customer no membership card is needed. I haven't even noticed if they scan a card at the check-out as it is makes no difference to me. If somebody else does get benefit from it then good luck to them. Up until around 4-5 years ago I would get a temporary member card when entering the store which they insisted on. Now no need.

BA flights from London Gatwick to Thailand starting operating a few days ago. 3 days per week each way. Only initially scheduled until the end of March 2025 at this moment. Prices seem to be higher than the EVA and Thai options from London Heathrow.

50,000 baht stolen. Should I call the police?
Keeps replied to Smilin in Thailand's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Didn't happen. Reeks of Bob Smith putting in a return although Bob would have made it a round million baht plus a Rolex.
