  1. I do not appreciate you quoting my post to get on your soapbox quite frankly. I am never bored. I partake in all points you raise above 1-6. I haven't smoked a joint in over 35 years and never touched any other drugs. Your final paragraph is poorly worded. You should have been more general in your target rather than using the word "you" 4 times. Perhaps the word "people" may have been a bit more appropriate? You might want to give this some thought prior to your next patronising post.
  2. Fair enough, taken out of context. My apologies.
  3. That old boy has that look on his face where he's thinking "hold on, is that a pair of b*llocks?"
  4. Not everyone is solely reliant on UK state pensions. People have private pension, equity in houses, savings etc.
  5. I'm with NextG on that one. Incredibly sad. Possibly lacking in imagination or just very tight?
  6. I thought it was just my computer and I had mistakenly clicked on some c*ap. Very annoying. It's covering the new notifications on threads I'm looking at. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if someone comes up with a miraculous solution.
  7. Good on you. Your son is lucky to have a father like yourself. Must have been a very distressing time for you. Of course you will be bitter. Who wouldn't? You seem to have come through it well though. Onwards and upwards and all that b*llocks. Good luck to you both. Is there a new lady in your life if you don't mind the question?
  8. It was said rather tongue in cheek. I'm certainly not condoning it. Each to their own though. I'm not personally a believer that smoking weed leads to harder drugs in the vast majority of people. Some people, yes, but a minority. I smoked weed in my younger years, didn't lead to anything else and don't touch the stuff now despite the easy access that Thailand allows.
  9. Sadly, a lot of the topics seem to head that way eventually.
  10. I've got the taste now and you were spot on. Sadly, it was me. And, you were spot on! Another 3! That will be me done for the night. Got to hit the bar tomorrow to see England beat the Aussies at cricket.....😉
  11. After that, you wouldn't want to be eating your Mc'd's without washing your hands first.
  12. I hope for your sake she has the voice of an angel 👍
  13. Her ears must have been burning. She's just returned from a food shopping expedition with 3 large Singhas for me (didn't ask for them but delighted anyway) and hasn't (yet) asked for the cash 👍
  14. I do get what Kenny202 said above though. In the past I have carried out/given small gestures of kindness or gifts and the Thai has looked at me like I'm completely mental or with disdain for the nature of the act. Not often, but it has happened which can be a bit demoralising. You do think, why do I bother?
  15. I gave my GF some packing cubes/dividers for packing hers clothes in her suitcase for when we travel. It wasn't a gift, just practical as I use them myself. She thought they were an absolute revelation! One for her t-shirts, one for her knickers etc. She was genuinely pleased with them which surprised me. She's also happy when I bring her cotton traders polo shirts or lightweight blouses from Marks and Spencers. Small, inexpensive gifts but she does appreciate them. Never buys me anything in return though 😂
  16. Stay permanently stoned then?
  17. I've been taking it in capsule form for over a decade. It was suggested to me by my hospital consultant for a long term inflammatory health condition alongside prescribed medication. I also occasionally drink turmeric and ginger tea. It has certainly helped with my condition (although it could of course just be the medication). Both items are purchased in the UK from reputable retailers but don't know where the turmeric itself is sourced from.
  18. Not talking about the big ticket items eg house, car, motorbike, gold, money etc. Something more modest but meaningful.
  19. Or your own pants
  20. I often use this tactic. I then find the nearest water source, froth up some suds, throw them on the floor and they are on their arse in no time. Then beat a hasty retreat after robbing them of all their worldly belongings. It works for me. 👍
  21. That's like telling someone Santa isn't real. Disgraceful behaviour...
  22. That's Bob Smith f*cked then......
  23. Good advice, totally agree.
  24. Wise words indeed Mr Miyagi👍
  25. I didn't think you were that old! I believe you are still gainfully employed in BKK and living the life of a youngster? I would have been surprised if you were still working at 79 (although I know some do).
