  1. Thank you everyone for the comments so far.

I was reading this part in the Non-O requirements:

    Quote

7.2 A letter of guarantee in Thai language from the commercial bank in Thailand (Attention: Immigration Commissioner) and copy of all entries of the applicant’s passbook showing that the applicant has a saving or fixed deposit account of not less than Baht 400,000

** (Documents under 7.1 and 7.2 must be issued and updated to be the same date of the Application and all documents must be in the Applicant’s name.)

And have a few further questions:

    1) For anyone using the Bangkok Bank, could you ask for the letter of guarantee from any branch or you must go to the branch where you opened an account at?

    2) Should I ask the bank to use the date of my appointment at CW in the letter of guarantee then, since it says the letter must be issued and updated to be the same date of the Application?

    3) Could someone suggest the best/easiest way for me to get a copy of all entries of my passbook up to date so it is the same date of the application?

  2. Hello everyone,

I'm going to apply for a Non-O based on Marriage soon and have some questions about the bank requirements. If anyone could help shed any light on these, it'd be much appreciated.

    1) THB 400K in the bank, does this need to come in from overseas, or I can ask my wife to transfer money from her account into mine?

    2) Any recommendations on which bank branches to open an account with, or which agent to use, for someone on a Tourist Visa?

    Thank you in advance.

    Edward

  3. I'm a US citizen going to Thailand next month to get married with my fiancée.

While research I noticed that apparently, the Amphur (District Office) wants to know how much I earn from my job. However, I noticed the Marriage Affidavit form provided by the Embassy website does not include this information. I know for certain that in the past it used to be in the form, but not anymore.

My question is, does the Amphur accept it? I'd love to hear from anyone who recently got married in Thailand please.

  4. I am actually getting married in Thailand (while I'm gonna be on TV), so our marriage certificate will have been issued by a Thai authority.

@pagallim You're saying 6.3 is only for people who registered marriage in a foreign country (outside of Thailand)? Checking the list of docs again my impression is yes, 6.2 is for people who got married outside of Thailand, but 6.3 is required for every applicant regardless of where they got married?

  5. Hi everyone,

I plan to apply for a Non-O visa based on marriage from inside Thailand soon (I'll arrive with a Tourist visa). Checking the list of documents I'll need to prepare now, I came across one that I have no idea what it is. From reading around the forum, my understanding is this is a newly added this year.

6.3 Letter from a government office, embassy or consulate, certifying that the applicant is a member of the referred family

Anyone have any idea what exactly this is? I'm a US citizen, if that helps. I know I might need to make an appointment with the US Embassy in Bangkok, but I don't know what doc I need to request from them.

    Appreciate any suggestion!
