  1. It’s not just one block, but a complex of six buildings. Any other stupid questions?
  2. That’s the real issue. That most don’t have that kind of relationship with their partner and cannot even conceive such a relationship.
  3. Less than I. So now we can move on to discussing the variety and quality. I ate a lot of carp there claiming to be what it was not. Chorizo being but one example. That’s why we have quality designation in Europe. To stop the outrageous claims and absolute degradation of quality standards.
  4. A lot of perhaps there. In other words, perhaps just nonsense that you have created that has nothing to do with me. How many times have you visited the USA? Tell me about the variety and what you know about them. I don’t think I eaten anything from McDonalds in twenty years.
  5. Makes me laugh when I read Americans thinking their versions are the best… Hot Dogs… German. Hamburgers? Guess where?
  6. I’m not sure you really know what you are writing. There are decent hand made products here. Dry cured as opposed to brine cured. Nitrite free in some cases. American standard is not necessarily the best standard. You can find decent German made products here. That’s what I would choose if making a hotdog, a high quality locally made product.
  7. Erm no… more like 2 baht per MB these days. So as you suggested, you can switch of cellular/mobile data. Though a better solution for AIS may be to apply an ‘always on’ package, giving 30 days of a 128kbps connection for 33 baht. Good enough for text based communication with the added bonus of no credit leakage. A faster connection can be applied as and when if needed.
  8. What possessed you to write such nonsense? ???? It’s not even a hotel, but a condominium complex.
  9. No… Though it seems that you do.
  10. ☺️ You really believe that ????
  11. On the balcony with a glass of beer and a ‘victory’ sign: https://www.thairath.co.th/news/local/east/2716948
  12. Have you considered that not all food deliveries go to homes. Have you not seen food delivered to people having a picnic at the beach? Of course if you are writing about low quality food and low quality people, you have inadvertently included yourself in that description, since you are queuing up for exactly the same food that you criticise. What a sad character you project.
  13. I’m not interested in the local women….
  14. ‘She can’ and ‘she is’ is not synonymous. There is no rule stating that she needs to be in charge of the household. I have no issue with the sharing of responsibilities and deferring whenever appropriate. Your situation suits you. I don’t need to pay for my women. They have their own. What works is what works.
  15. That happens to many who hook up with the ‘wrong’ woman too.
  16. Yes. You think wrong. In fact when I was younger, they would often pay more. If I had more I would happily pay, but it wasn’t an issue in any of my relationships. I wasn’t joking when I wrote that your experience has skewed your thinking. But that’s not a big deal. We are all shaped by our experiences. Thank goodness we aren’t all fighting over the same woman. What works is what works. If you are able to sustain your relationship when others cannot, who is right and who is wrong? I have my way and you have yours. But when you make definitive statements that are waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy off the mark, they need to be challenged. I’ve had girlfriends who used to buy all of my clothes and jewellery etc I didn’t ask, they just did it. I doubt that I’m the only one.
  17. Indeed and that works for you. But what about the women who have a full time job? Not a ‘decent Thai woman’? Your statements are obviously in regard to your situation and only yours.
  18. As you stated, every situation is different. You cannot state ‘a decent Thai woman’. That is really nonsense. Tradition can even differ from region to region. What works is what works. I am used to controlling household finance myself. If in Thailand and married to a Thai woman then of course I would need to satisfy myself as to her competence. It’s great that your situation is working for you, but do not presume to dictate to others how it must be.
  19. Sad… that you actually believe that.
  20. No… and I’d thank you to not insist on telling me from which viewpoint my perspective might be. Have you more experience with Thailand than myself? You haven’t the slightest idea, yet you make these pronouncements. It’s different for foreigners, simply because you are not in line to inherit anything. For example, a Thai husband might move into property inherited by the woman, since it was often women who would inherit land etc. His sinsod to ‘compensate’ for marrying into property and subsequent inheritance. So in effect, she would be running her own household. But that does not speak to her competence.
  21. So, theoretically, you could understand the point bignok was making even if you didn’t like the way that he stated it. That in a normal long term relationship there are more options. On the other hand, there is a lot on nonsense being bandied about by certain members pretending that they are sleeping with high quality girls for free….
  22. Erm… no. You just made that up ???? Of course it’s nice to have someone who can make good choices financially, but that doesn’t correlate to a ‘decent Thai woman’. Some men may prefer to keep control of the main choices and spending and some women will be happy with that, with some leeway for things for which she can be trusted and for spending on herself. Though this is not a scenario that I have faced in a relationship, since the women have all had their own source of funds.
  23. Would you be happy using condoms throughout a long term relationship?
  24. Just out of interest… why do you think someone would continue to use condoms in a long term relationship?
