Am I the only one using (Indian) 'cook in sauces'?
NextG replied to BritManToo's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
All good since the method described can and has been used with jar sauces to make decent curries/stews. My ‘beef’ was the trying to slate someone on their own thread. A bit disrespectful ???? Bygones. -

He is no longer alive… As you can see, most people here don’t even engage the brains even before posting. -
You are writing nonsense… but of course you know that.

He was likely wrong. It’s important if you misinform others because of his misinformation. But not THAT important.

At Unixx? I thought their biggest units were around 62 sq.m. Though I’ve seen some advertisements with 67 sq.m. so they might have larger units than 62.

No argument. I only refer to my taste. Butter chicken wouldn’t be my choice in a restaurant, but that doesn’t mean that no one else should order it. It’s a matter of taste. But anyway if made with good ingredients and love and care, I would eat it happily. -

If you’ve been at it for years, you must have some pictures to share. There’s a lot of boasting about cooking from scratch here, but scant evidence of actual prepared meals. Personally I’m not a big fan of the jars, but I have no issue with some of the kits, as they contain, dried spices, a base sauce and a main sauce. It means that I don’t need to buy a plethora of ingredients for a ‘one off’ curry. I guarantee the result will be as good or better than anything you can produce from scratch. The jars are a bit less sophisticated but can still be utilised to make a decent meal, with a bit of improvisation. -
Arrange it directly with the vendors.

Actually I knew that ???? -
What if you can see the sea, trees and mountains? Would that be better than just seaviee or just trees and mountains? The point is a view and location that makes you feel better. If you are happy with your partial views then accept that some might be happy with what they have. Why do you feel the need to denigrate their preferences? For me it’s not just a view, I choose to be close to the sea as the air is different. I love the sounds of the waves. Also the feeling of looking out over the horizon, with nothing blocking your view. I can see trees and mountains too as part of my view. It’s all amazing and good health promoting. So no, my sea view is not ‘overrated’. The fact that you have lost your appreciation for some things reflects only on you. Get back into the pool. Relax.

What’s the point of smoking cigarettes? They are just smelly and harmful. Give it up ????

Correct. Restaurant chefs will reuse it over and over again. Though I make it fresh each time using a slow cooking process. -

You should get yourself a slow cooker ???? They cook slowly ???? for hours. You don’t need to stay in the kitchen or even at home. You don’t get melt in the mouth beef/lamb or ‘falling off the bone’ by simmering for fifteen minutes. Plus you get thicker sauces with more developed and flavours. You should try it. Sounds like you’ve been eating insipid food. Sorry you didn’t get the memo sooner. -

I know about online recipes. My sauces are slow cooked/simmered for hours to develop the flavours, depending on the kind of curry. I have no interest in butter chicken, as it’s relatively bland and uninteresting to me. But I doubt any of the people here make it properly anyway. None have made mention of marinating the meat beforehand nor do they have even a single example of them doing so nor a picture of any result. -
The girls were following and filming him after they saw his strange behaviour initially. Perhaps they didn’t catch some of his antics once he drove off and only caught up with him after the more serious crash or perhaps it’s been edited out for other reasons.

He drives off and gets into other accidents. Car turns over and he gets trapped inside and “seriously” injured, according to the report.

Which ‘prepared’ jars have you tried? I’ve tried a few over the years. Some are good, some are not so good. Lots of silly stories with regard to making from scratch. That would be viable if it were something you made regularly, but since I make an Indian style curry perhaps once every few months, I would spend hours creating a base sauce alone. So I have no issues with utilising and customising a good quality base product, such as https://uk.thespicetailor.com/ <snip> -
If I do, it’s quantifiable, as opposed to a ‘jumped up’ opinion. You should actually learn the meaning of OCD, rather than utilising the word like a petulant school child.

There you are, doing it again. You have no idea as to what others can see and experience, but you choose to insist that you do and that what you do is better. You are just going on your limited experience.

Understood, but you included ‘sea view’ in your criticism, which I think was unfair. I think a pleasant view contributes to a healthy outlook.
