  1. It’s like the ‘70s all over again in Oz. But what do you do in Thailand? So easy to make your own.
  2. That’s because I’m quoting from memory. No need for me to read the articles again. But anyone needing to make sense of it can actually read the articles for exact details.
  3. It make perfect sense anyway if you actually read the article. From memory the investigation took place in June or July and he was perhaps ordered to be removed before his tenure ended on August the 31st.
  4. It depends on whether you intend to utilise it in the first place. Of course having beachfront/sea view location is an incentive. If it polluted and humid outside, one might be tempted to close the doors and to turn on the air conditioning. But I choose places where I could live naturally without air conditioning. I haven’t turned them on even once, in years.
  5. Studio is not the issue, it’s the size, design, location and price etc that is your issue. If you are going to live there, forget about new builds with their tiny rooms and ‘impressive’ facilities. Smallest studio I utilised was around 40sq.m with an inside kitchen. That was okay. If you have a decent balcony space, that can be utilised for cooking and eating too. A halogen style oven can warm your breakfast pastries and can be utilised for lunch and dinner too. You can even have a hot plate out there. Balconies are indispensable to healthy living here.
  6. That’s just crazy. Without a balcony, you live in a shoe box. My balcony doors are rarely closed. It’s an extension of my living space and at 15 square metres would be a waste to not use it. It also has an East/West aspect, so I can watch the sunrise and sunset from the same place. I’ve rarely eaten a meal inside the apartment. Usually on the balcony. Didn’t have COVID claustrophobia, since I was mostly outside, even when at home.
  7. I think he’s referring to your often yearning for your ‘unobtainable’, on this forum ????
  8. You already did discuss your life story. Thanks for sharing ????
  9. I have a couple in the cupboard that I haven’t used. Now already three years past their Best Before date ☺️ I prefer a slightly more dry curry, slow cooked for a bit longer(up to four hours) and served with condiments(pickle and yoghurt) Beef and potato Madras style on wholemeal paratha:
  10. So not a studio….
  11. Based on Thai baht has nothing to do with the OP. But anyway bank transfer via SWIFT is cheaper than WISE for when it comes to larger amounts. SWIFT transfer from U.K I think is £4 via NatWest.
  12. Is 30,000 baht good or did you mean credit(card) where it is due? ☺️
  13. It’s neither an interesting point nor accurate. You are receiving US$ in a country that has it’s own currency.
  14. Thanks for attending, however late. Perhaps better next time if you checked for a conclusion before posting. The outcome is that the fees are related to RECEIVING US$ in those countries.
  15. Yes. Also confirmed by NND.
  16. It’s what I think and NoDisplayName appears to concur.
  17. Are you sure your link is not with regard to RECEIVING US$?
  18. That seems to indicate sending US$ and receiving in US$. Have I got that correctly?
  19. …if you’re an undereducated idiot. The rest of us understand that we are all on the ‘spectrum’.
  20. Erm… the Dubai transfer also cost less than 0.6%, so you didn’t get stung either way.
  21. Is this a USA/US$ thing? Why not post the whole page or link to the whole page?
  22. Reposting twice IS thrice. People would complain ????
  23. A shame that you didn’t consider it earlier. When there were universal enticing deals on new Prepaid SIM. DTAC had some hidden deals recently but I haven’t checked since the merger. The key thing is that these deals included unlimited calls. For example I pay 150 baht for unlimited data capped at 4 Mbps and unlimited domestic calls. 200 baht for unlimited 10 Mbps and unlimited domestic calls. If I don’t want the package one month, I simply don’t bother to top up. Or if I only want it for one week, I just top up 25% of the full package price. These are no longer available to new customers. But DTAC might still have something of interest to you.
  24. No, it didn’t. It originated from travellers. Typically they would wear expensive clothes, such as Burberry Check, but let’s say they didn’t carry it off. In other words, you can wear the bling, but you’re still a chav.
