You live in Isaan or 100km from Chiang Mai. That's where most delusional expats live

Are you seriously comparing a house that you don't own in the middle of nowhere to a house in a 1st world country? Here is a price of a house in the middle of nowhere in a 1st world country. Canadian dollars. Plenty to choose from too.
-
Ok, let's try to be a bit realistic here. As a matter of fact, you can find many houses in 1st world countries for cheap. They are not in NY, London or Vancouver. They are in the middle of nowhere, just like where your house is. Try buying a house in Bangkok and then let us compare. Even better, compare the 26 square meter influencer condo in Bangkok with nice amenities and a room where you can't even swing the cat. Then compare it to the average condo 60 square meter 1 bed condo in the big city first world country. Here an oven, dishwasher or God forbid a bathtub is a luxury. To rent or buy an equivalent condo you'd have to rent at Shangri La

What Would You Do If You Had More Money
Celsius replied to KIngsofisaan's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Health is indeed the most important thing. If I'm healthy I can make money . All the money in the world won't help if you live with disability or pain -

Honestly, I would start my OnlyFans page. I know a lot of people do it for money, but I would do it for attention. -
Considering Condo in Thailand
Celsius replied to nexus99's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I posted a picture of my 2 year old hiso Bangkok condo in another thread. Condo warranty is non existent in Thailand. Insurance does not cover or will cover only cosmetic issues (think water pipe burst, they will pay to paint the wall). Good luck with your investment. -
Recommendations for expat health insurance?
Celsius replied to PadPrikKhing's topic in Health and Medicine
258 a month at 60 is a normal price in Thailand for a so-so coverage, Healthcare in Thailand is not cheap and is certainly more expensive than a private healthcare in some European countries. -
There are a few things missing in this article if you don't watch Thai news. She shooter is "important" person hence the reason why the name is not released. The resort owner just opened after a long covid shutdown. He had to close and refund 500,000 baht to customers because of this incident. Oh well....

Buying Condo on Tourist Visa
Celsius replied to Eddie45's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Absolutely the gold standard now unless you are buying Shangri la I guess. My wife asked some of her friends in real estate about this. The reason is the materials and quality of construction are worse than ever. The absolute rock bottom is being used. As for buying the older developments Thai are experts in beautifying the ugly things. As a matter of fact I'm about to do the same with this wall. Insurance is refusing to pay for it and address the root problem. So I'll just mask the problem and sell it to the next.... preferably Farang sucker. Before and after pictures coming soon. -

You can always buy it and sell it in a few years for a 30% loss. -

I also have to add something. I am a bit of a toy collector and I ordered a few things from Amazon UK and US. Shipped directly from Amazon, not a 3rd party seller. 80% of my orders arrive in criminal condition due to extremely poor packaging, Toys literally arrive in carton envelope without any protection and most of the time they look like someone sat on them. Amazon UK makes international return very difficult. They require you to pay shipping for yourself and they will reimburse you when they receive it. However, they want your postal receipt to be in English and once they denied the return because it was sent via Thailand Post even though tracking and country name was clearly visible. In over 1000 packages I ordered through Shopee and Lazada all sellers took extra time to properly package their items. Amazon has truly become a Mickey Mouse company. They treat both their buyers and sellers like garbage. When I say buyers do you ever notice the condescending and arrogant prewritten emails they send to their costumers about how they want to delight you with their service while completely ignoring issue at hand? The message is full of woke terminology and BS that makes you puke. Appalling.

Well it may be rubbish for Farang, but for Thai market it works extremely well. Their mobile app is superior, they release money to the seller only after you confirm everything is ok with the order and their voucher program is more appealing. I have started using shopee food over grab now as I can get some incredible deals. The only problem is that unlike Lazada shopee does not accept foreign credit cards and I like collecting my points. However bigger savings more than make up for it,

Foreigner Kills Two Teenage Girls In Songkhla Crash
Celsius replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
No one killed 2 girls. The motorcycle was driving at ridiculous speed and slammed into a truck making a turn. -
I have done it. I even registered as seller on shopee. You have to contact English speaking department through messaging app as they have special people who deal with foreign clients. You will need your passport and of course a Thai Bank account.
-
I don't think you understand and perhaps this is the reason why you got scammed and Lazada is not taking any responsibility, You did a transaction outside Lazada. You paid the seller directly, not Lazada. Hence he is not a Lazada seller.
-
If you buy from LazMall they will sometimes send it in their own branded box as it comes directly from the warehouse. Anyhoo, the op got scammed doing a transaction outside lazada. The "seller" used a Lazada box to seem more legitimate. Lazada will not cover this as it was done outside of their platform, something they warn about on their pages more than once.
