  1. On international transfers. Why not? Do you also lol when you pay 200 baht using a foreign ATM card?
  2. Why so angry? I am giving my opinion on what the outcome of this taxation may look like. I may be entirely wrong, but withholding tax on transfers looks like something entirely plausible. Did you sell everything back home to live the dream? Well, that was a mistake.
  3. Like I said, if they implement the withholding tax, this absolutely won't matter. It will be up to you to prove the money was already taxed back home.
  4. I think it is a great business model. Transfer money, get taxed 15% on the gross amount and get 2% interest (if you are lucky).
  5. It is not my logic, this is what I see when reading the childishly written original post. Of course it is not an income, but a Thai bank may see it as an income and it will be taxed accordingly. It will be up to you then to claim back the withholding tax and go through all the BS to get your money back.
  6. This is actually very clear. I don't know why so many seem confused. If you make a wise transfer to Thailand, transfer money to purchase a condo, transfer your pension or transfer money to your bargirl du jour it will be taxed at 15% - just like the interest you earn on your Thai savings. It will be then up to you to claim a refund. This will, of course be an automatic withholding tax. Best to use your foreign ATM card. Best to not own any property in Thailand. Best to not have any business whatsoever in Thailand. Best to always keep the low profile.
  7. Not my type, as my 43 year old super white Chinese wife is much hotter than her. I'm kidding.
  8. You make a fair point, but also miss an important one. Isaan girls could be making 100,000 baht a month working 7/11, but the Thai currency will most likely be worth the same as 1 Korean won. Farang sex tourist wins even more.
  9. And ideally I want Pattaya to be a sleepy little fishing village
  10. Not on my dime you won't. If you want me to be tax compliant I expect nothing less than a PR status in Thailand.
  11. I think you win the most expensive colonoscopy on Aseannow.
  12. Yea.... as per my follow up post what I meant to say that extra charges were capped at 6000 baht.
  13. About a year ago. Edit: I think you misunderstood. The extra charges were capped at 6000 baht. The colonoscopy was around 16 thousand baht.
  14. And why those 3 hospitals only? Any hospital can do this procedure it is not exactly rocket science. Medpark would probably have the latest tech as it is the newest hospital. I had an endoscopy there and it was pretty smooth. I also had it at Vejthani.... also smooth. When I phoned Bangpakok and Vejthani about colonoscopy their prices were capped at 6,000 baht for biopsy and polyp removal. What is exactly special about these 3 hospitals? The lobby?
  15. Exactly. I pay a very high 25% non resident tax to Canada Revenue Agency on my Toronto rental. What business it is to Thailand with what I do with my leftover money? Are they seriously expecting me to hire a consultant to deal with this and other issues when I am not even a legal resident of Thailand while doing my 90 day reports like a common criminal? Can the OP remind me as the when did I receive my PR card in the mail? HAHAHA!!! I have never read anything dumber in my life. Thanks OP! If I stay next year I will be complying a big fat zero. In other countries you have certain benefits for tax compliance.
  16. I am just shocked how many men cum to Pattaya for sex
  17. My ex wife is Australian. And I like Australia, but the ones who choose to leave usually try and make every excuse under the sun as to why Thailand is better. The OP's friend seems to be literay crying to get out of there. Primed for being ripped off
  18. So the guy works his entire life in one of the best countries on the planet to earn a wage and only has to show AUD 1 million and only after he sells a house that probably appreciated 500% since he bought it. I come to Thailand at age 39 with barely 200k CAD in savings and 11 years later I have close to 1 million CAD while working 2-3 hours per day. Yes, I am gloating because I spent my working life in Thailand while he was slaving away on the prison island and for wot? Yes, he will absolutely and utterly fail here because guys like him end up with a first hooker who will separate him from money. After kids auntie and a bro are taken care off after the obligatory house in Isaan he will be back with a tail between his legs.
  19. That guy is above average YouTuber in Thailand. I don't eat 7/11 food, but if I was in my 20's I probably would.

That thing is still there. I guess they couldn't cram it into one of their tops or central stores. I hope someone pops it out of its misery.

Correct closing for "renovations" because it is already so old.

Today is the last day before "closing for renovation". Yeah right..... more like bankrupt due to insane prices that Thais can not pay. Came in for Pizza, but even that wad closed.
