the amount of change that would need to happen if this tariff was implemented is huge. it's almost an entire overhaul of the system. the data that would need updating is astounding really. not something that can easily be done. mfn would need to be thrown out which effects so many other countries as well. then you have USMCA formally NAFTA which is not as simple or clear cut as people think. the rules and regulations within the agreements would have a huge effect on imports as well. in my professional opinion its just talk from the republicans. or you could bring manufacturing back and avoid these silly issues. which i know would take a long time but it is a much better long term solution.
