  1. Who decided in the Department that ICE agents were ok to be portrayed wearing Stalhelms in 1930s Art Nouveau style artwork published by the Spectator.
  2. Its not the Rose Garden any more, but the Rose Garden Club. Looks like a food court Previously the Rose Garden
  3. There is anecdotal evidence Russia thought the same. Ukraine captured truckloads of packed dress uniforms for the inevitable goose stepping victory parade. Senior Russian officers had also placed bookings at top Kyiv restaurants. Among many of the Russians captured early early on were police or gendarmeries officers. OMON is essentially a Soviet era riot police squad. SOBR is described as an elite rapid response force, so I suppose similar to SWAT officers in the US or London Met Police's Specialist Firearms Command, but reporting at the federal level. This "press conference" is interesting. Of course, there is the propaganda element, and I think these three men have been filled in with "facts" by their Ukrainian captors, because I have seen other interviews with two of these men, where they seem a bit more confused about the sequence of events, and how much they knew was going on (if you recall, Russian units had assembled in Belarus for "exercises", and this included policemen). Whatever you think of the details these men have to say, if you accept their identities (ie senior officers in the paramilitary police), then you have to ask, why were policemen trained in crowd control, part of the spearhead into a major city, if Russia expected a hard fight (Russia expected to quickly decapitate the government, thereby nullifying a divided military). Sure, Militay Police are always needed for traffic management, but these aren't traffice cops. The bearded chap is especially interesting. In other interviews, essentially in his cell, he came over as a thoughtful chap, first and foremost, a copper. He had an ordinary life for a middle aged Russian man (smoked a bit, seperated from wife), but seemed a professional. Russian squaddies, in similar situations, genuinely seemed confused, and apologetic. Captured army and airforce officers generally come over as complete pricks. The second interview with Col. Astakhov Dmitry Mikhailovich, which is more of a factual interview, he confirms the belief that the plan expected Kyiv to fall quickly. He didn't travel with riot gear, and describes himself as a serious crimes officer, which sounds more investigatory.
  4. Nothing new. In July Dmitry Peskov stated that “any military facility on Ukrainian territory is a legitimate target for our army.”. In October 2023, Deputy Security Council Chair Dmitry Medvedev said British soldiers training Ukrainian troops would become “legitimate targets”. In April 2022, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko declared that any NATO bases or facilities established in Ukraine—even if such deployments never occurred—would be considered legitimate targets for Russian strikes. In March 2022, Russia attacked what is generally considered a NATO facility, the International Peacekeeping and Security Center at Yavoriv.

  6. South African woman admits she was involved in human trafficing from South Africa to Tatarstan https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gljnn0wwlo This is related to the Alabuga Start Programme that encourages Africans and South Americans to go work in the Alabuga Economic Zone https://startworld.alabuga.ru/ The South African Government is investigating claims that the South African branch of the BRICS Student Commission has signed a contract with the Russian company Etalonstroy Ural , to supply 5600 workers. AP conducted an investigation, including witness testomony, looking into the use of African and other nationalities, women in drone prodution. This lead to X.com, Meta, Google, TikTok banning the Alabuga Start Programme from their platforms, since social media is an important recruitment tool. Further there are efforts to recruit underage Kyrgyzstan school children to come work building drones because "Russia needs you". https://gdb.rferl.org/1b6a43e2-26c8-4d34-9b8d-3f36deb4f913_w650_r1_s.jpg Russian journalist emigres based in Latvia broke a story about how children were involved in Russian drone production https://meduza.io/en/news/2025/07/21/russian-state-tv-touts-boys-and-girls-assembling-attack-drones-bound-for-ukraine
  7. Bloody typical response from you. In reaction to the story, you decided to go look for a story to show how the Russians did it first, and therefore are better/superior. More reactionary West Bad, East Good. Bet you thought the Russian soldiers looked well Gucci. Of course it might actually be a posed photo. Pavlovian reaction. Anyway West Good. DARPA was the first to develop for combat electric two wheels through the Montague Paratrooper Bike. British Army Stealth H-52 Ukrainian electric cavalry
  8. No its not. Its a war between two sovereign powers. Russia takes the view that Ukraine is not a real country. You denigrate Ukraine's right to exist by dismissing the war as a "Slavic dispute". Zelensky isn't even a Slav. Ukraine isn't a monolith of Slavic people. Neither is Russia. Russia is 80% Slavic, but non-Slavs are at least 30% of Russian casualties, perhaps even 40%. Lord Halifax on the Sudentenland Chamberlain in the same issue Mosley On Poland, Oswald Mosley argued that Poland was corrupt, oppressive to minorities, and not worth a European war. Acoss the Atlantic; Lindbergh Sound familiar? The same arguments, played out by people mostly sympathetic to Mosley's policies and beliefs. Your lot are using the same arguments 85 years on, for the same purpose.

  10. So why does he need foreign bank accounts stuffed full of cash, if the entire resources of the DPRK are at his disposal? Kim Jong Un rules by patronage, not by control of state institutions. Generals, party bosses, and security chiefs are kept loyal not just by fear, but by material rewards. That means rolexes, nice houses, foreign holidays, cash. So the North Korean elite are dependant on him personally. The money in Swiss and Singaporean bank accounts is insurance. Sadda Hussein, Gaddafi, Mobutu, all looked secure until they weren't. Office 39 tells you about the shadow economy Kim has built (well, his dad created it). its not only the way monies from legitimate activities of the DPRK are channeled, but also the criminal activities, eg the counterfeiting rack, narcotics production, ransomware gigs. He's a crook. He killed his own brother.
  11. Go tell Sri Lanka how they feel about the "massive infrastructure boost" they got from China. https://thediplomat.com/2024/10/debt-or-diplomacy-inside-chinas-controversial-loans-to-sri-lanka-laos-and-malaysia/ The last time China formed a close alliance with a European country was Albania. Ukraine is a European country. Pre-war, it was already integrated into the American-European manufacturing supply chain, being the location of many a CMO. Flextronic being an obvious example (blown up by the Russian <deleted>). 17% of European car wiring looms come from Ukraine (and ironically, all of the Russian truck wiring looms). Corbyn is also anti-EU, pro-CCP. No surprise you, a fellow political traveler of his, have taken this stance.
  12. There is general agreement that Goering's error was to switch from attacking Airfields to attacking the East End.
  13. Who, let it be remembered, was elected by the people of Clacton to be their MP, and first and foremost, represent their local interests. A leader of Reform, Farage has spoke 45 times in Parliament. 26 for Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, 97 for Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey, and 152 and 86 respectively for Green Party co-leaders Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay. He's turned up to vote in parliament on 91 occasions. That’s fewer than Ed Davey (111), Carla Denyer (205), Adrian Ramsay (178). When elected, he said he wasn't going to hold any in-person surgeries, because the Speakers Office told him there were security concerns. He soon backtracked on that when the Speakers Office stated they never said anything of the sort. He's under investigation by the Parliamentary Standards Watchdog. He claims its nothing to do with his financial affairs, even thogh he has admitted to undeclared ownership of a trawler. His behaviour today is borderline treason. Whatever his views of the British Government, he is first and foremost an MP, and so he has taken the Oath of Allegiance. While the UK has a narrow definition of treason, he is exorting agents of a foreign government to carry out unfriendly acts against Britain. Friendly acts including minding your own business. He is free to critique the government, but he is asking a foreign government to impose draconian trading conditions of the UK, costing British working men and women their jobs. Its not the first time he has been called a traitor.
  14. Talk about acting like a hysterical old woman. No, if you visit the UK and nick a political placard, you are not going to be returned hime in a box or as a drooling vegetable.
  15. The Taliban didn't cause an Earthquake. Irrespective of the government, help from the outside would always be needed. Mexico routinely sends firefighters to help both the US and Canada to help fight wildfires. The fact their help is needed is nothing to do with Republican or Democrat policy failure. Its a fact that full time resource can never be put in place for such unpredictable emergencies. When Hurricane Katrina struck, countries from around the world offered and provided aid. Countries like Canada, Austria, Denmark, Germany, France, provided technical specialists. Many many countries, such as Singapore, provided extra aircrews and aircraft. Aid offered by the UK, in the form of emergency ration packs, was rejected due to BSE. Cuba offered 1500 doctors, also declined; Cuba attempted to send their winnings from the World Baseball Classic to victims, but the State Department. Poverty stricken Afghanistan sent over $100,000. https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna9199894 Your view that humanitarian aid should only be given for political reasons is wicked. You think that Americans donate to international causes to gain personal advantage. Maybe those are values you live by, but they are not the values of most people.
  16. https://phillipspobrien.substack.com/p/weekend-update-149-breakthrough-what?utm_source=substack&publication_id=1176440&post_id=172383946&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share&utm_campaign=email-share&triggerShare=true&isFreemail=true&r=45w57p&triedRedirect=true Good article contrasting Russia's expenditure of surface to surface and air launch missiles on essentially civilian targets, with Ukraine's focus on industrial infrastructure, and which is strategic and which isn't.
  17. History might be a guide. 1917; who was "winning" the Great War at that stage. Q1 1917. Germany started unrestricted submarine warfare, to starve Britain into submission. Strategically, an error, as it would bring the US into the War.. France and Britain were fatigued, and planned new offensives. However Operation Alberich (planned German withdrawal to shorten the line) threw all those plans into the toilet. Riots and widespread protests spread in Russia. America enters the warl doesn't materially change anything on the Front, but a psychological boost. Q2 1917. French Nivelle Offensive fails, with huge casualties. Sparks mass mutinies among an exhausted army. French offensive capability is nullified for months. Britain explodes mines at Messines Ridge, causing mass German casualties, seen as a victory, but gains nothing. By the next month the Third Battle of Ypres kicks off, drags until near the ned of the year, with huge casualties and minimal gains. The British Army is on the brink. Russia is trying to mobilise for a summer offensive, but faces domestic pressures. Germany is starting to feel the heat as the British blockade starts to be felt through shortages in the shops. Q3/4 1917; Russia is now basically out of the War following the Revolution. At the Battle of Caporetto, the Italian front collapses and Germany advances 100kms. At the end of 1917, things looked quite bleak for the allies. Sure there was the promise of American reinforcements using very inexperienced troops. The year had started off with the Americans offering to mediate, proposing "peace without victory", somewhat similar to today. By the time the Americans entered the war, they changed their tune to the war ending when Germany stopped its aggression. By the end of the year, Wilsonian Idealism changed to the 14 Points, which was still quite vague, but at least accepted that the only way the War would end was through the defeat of Germany. History doesn't always, rarely repeats. But it can teach. Fuller remarked "It is said that the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn".
  18. Russian intent; to take Ukraine right to the Romanian border https://x.com/RaduHossu/status/1962294090873417929?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1962294090873417929|twgr^|twcon^s1_&ref_url=
  19. Igor Girkin (Russian nationalist, pro-war in Ukraine, but in prison because he thinks Putin is screwing it up) pondering from his cell about what it means that Ukraine has now relaxed regulations to allow 18-22 year olds to go on holiday overseas. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1962543240915321039.html?utm_campaign=topunroll
  20. You pointedly have made no mention of IMX-101 production, nor the implications of BAe's rollout of NGAA continuous flow production approaches to RDX and propellant manufacture. Explosive production, like TNT, is normally made in incredibly large batches, requiring the construction of huge plant set within a large area (because it could go boom). BAe has applied continuous flow processing to explosive manufacture (in this case good old Royal Demolition Explosive). That means you don't need huge plants, you are storing much less. The cost comes right down. And they've applied the same approach to propellant production. Nitrocellulose is made from cotton pulp treated with nitric acid and sulphuric acid and dehydrated. The resulting guncotton is used as a propellant. In a batch process, you need to procure large amounts of cotton, the output of which depends on the growing season. Like any commodity, its difficult to surge production if all the cotton has been brought up for cheap t-shirts and teatowels. If you are a thuggish <deleted> like Hitler or Putin, then you have prepared for your genocidal war. Elsewhere, there is a long lead to buy the cotton on the markets, to start making the guncotton. BAe has designed a reactor vessal based approach do away with the need for nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine, doing away with the batch process (which is labour intensive, which is why India and China dominate in Nitrocellulose production; cheap labour). Our Need will be the Real Creator is the common maxim. That inventiveness seperates us from the thuggish crypto or so-called ex-communist <deleted> in Russia. Invention defeated their cuntish Nazi predecessors, and will do it again. Its again, no surprise that you present a one sided despairing viewpoint. You have been conditioned your whole adult life (and who knows what abuse you suffered to decide one day Trotskyism held all the answers) to believe West Bad, East Good, and you go looking for stories to support that conceit.
  21. He has. Just a few days ago commenting on the assasination of a politician in Lviv. You are trying to spread fake news, rather badly. https://www.president.gov.ua/en/videos/videos-archive
  22. To be fair, the drivel started with the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, August 7 2023, when she alleged Ukraine was doing this with their dead soldier. Go moan at the Russians for starting this sort of thing. https://mid.ru/en/foreign_policy/news/1899824/ Two can play at that game https://united24media.com/latest-news/russia-is-returning-ukrainian-pows-bodies-without-internal-organs-1382
