I've just got off the phone with my lawyer here in Thailand and he said the same thing. He said just go back tomorrow and everything should be fine.

I was told to come back to immigration in person today (14) to collect my yearly extension. the IO said Bangkok have yet to approve my application and could I come back tomorrow. i said yes, of course, but it is an inconvenience, not to mention that I am now in a state of forced overstay as tomorrow will be the 15th and I won’t as of yet have a stamp in my passport. The IO did not stamp anything in my passport that extends my status, just asked me to come back tomorrow. is this normal? In the many years living here this has never happened to me before. bob.

UK visitors actually spend money here in hotels, restaurants and nightlife. How many Laotian nationals do you see living it up on Pattaya's walking street? How many vietnamese are staying in 5 star hotels ?

Thailand really needs to fully comprehend it's place on the world stage. It is middle of the road at best. People used to come here because it was cheap but that is no longer the case. Places like Phuket and Samui are comparable price wise with London and New York now... It's just a lot easier these days to nip across to spain or portugal for most people than bother with the expensive long haul flight here.

People have finally realized that Thailand isn't all that it's cracked up to be, and with the ever increasing amounts of red tape and visa hassle it just isn't worth it when there are so many better places to visit closer to home..

That just isnt true. This morning I have showered, am dressed in my sunday best and wearing an expensive cologne. They are absolutely terrified of us foreigners, thats why they do it. Fear rules them.

Has anyone else noticed an increase in this recently? I took a walk through the park this morning and 3 older thai women held a tissue up to cover their nose when I was walking past them. Then as I looked back over my shoulder they removed the tissue and carried on walking as normal. I have noticed it numerous times over the past few weeks when out and about, mostly women without a mask will cover their mouth with their hand or a tissue when they see a foreigner approaching them, then when they pass they will remove their hand/tissue. It’s strange behavior to say the least…
