Thailand grapples with surge in illegal foreign workers in tourism
Gknrd replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"The majority of these offenders hailed from neighbouring countries such as Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos". hummm lets see. The three countries where China has either devastated the economy or supports a genocidal regime. Ahh, ok now it makes sense. -
Thai-China high-speed rail set to boost ASEAN connectivity

Already started in Thailand. The anti western propaganda is very real . Just the tip of the spear. -
Thai-China high-speed rail set to boost ASEAN connectivity

Yeah, I was there for 6 months. Drove the whole country of Laos. The good old days are gone for good. China invaded Laos and took over the whole country without firing a shot. Laos is a good example of what they do to very poor countries that do not know any better. -

Yea Laos was never all that, but since the train the roads have turned into one big pot hole. The reason the roads have gotten in such a bad shape is! Laos is servicing the debt to China, and does not have the money to keep the infrastructure serviced. Going to be a nightmare for the western retiree's that bought into the LOS's BS... haha -

Might as well be wearing a t-shirt saying "I am guilty and waiting for the storm to blow over" -
Found one that was one day off in three years retirement. Must of thrown away one of my passports. I travel allot. I will see if I can find another one . I have a huge gap. I think it was because of me washing it and when I tried to go to India from Thailand in Chiang Mai the took my passport and made me get a new one.. I am a little hesitant taking a pic and posting it here. Just in case I want to return one day. Anyway, I was in on March 1 on one retirement visa and the next one they shorted me one day. I will try to dig up some older passports.

For that price in the Euro I would not even think of Thailand. I am having my implants done in Colombia. Now waiting for the bone grafts to heal. Mine cost me ( 790 US for the implant and 595 for the tooth) I decided not to have them done in Thailand. But, have been thinking of going to Turkey to get them finished. Just for the travel experience. I would like to go to Turkey and the surrounding countries for a visit.

Mine used to change about half the time I got an extension. Crazy. Never asked and never understood why. Usually only by a few days or on one occasion three weeks. After sitting at immigration and then watching them move the rubber in the 10-25 stamps I didn't care really. Never thought calling them on it would be in my best interest.

They are rich, both will catch a mysterious disease and be transferred to a five start police hospital. Then after a few weeks be released with a deadly medical condition that cannot be cured. Then fly home to their families and a miracle cure will happen in a few days. The cop will be driving his new Benz. -
British and American men arrested for real estate violations

Here is a good guy that follows the law, and how most of westerners are brought up. Unfortunately if things get bad in Thailand he and most like him will be the first to go. Thailand is a corrupt country from top to bottom. If it gets really bad. The only westerners living there will be the ones using agents and bribing officials. -
Immigration officers told to increase screening of foreigners in Thailand
Gknrd replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You retiree's think it is bad now? Things will get absoulty nightmarish. With no leadership and no direction and saying this to immigration lets each individual and individual office go it's on direction. It is already like this and with this can and will go into a very bad direction for the law abiding and good retiree's. Bribes will be out of control. Unreal, putting the fate of a retiree in the hands of a money hungry immigration office or officer. What a great idea.. every Thai immigration officer will be driving a Benz in a few years. -
Thai Student Activists Demand Thaksin's Arrest: Present 6 Proposals

"Joke of the day". Thinking anything the people want will make a difference in Thailand. Or change anything. Military and communist run countries are all the same. -
Srettha will not declare Chiang Mai a disaster zone to protect tourism
Gknrd replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
PM2.5 air pollution was behind approximately 29,000 deaths in Thailand in 2021, according to a Greenpeace Southeast Asia analysis of IQAir data. The number of air pollution-related deaths per capita in Thailand last year exceeded those from road accidents, drug use and homicide combined, a new report finds. And you go search, best places to retire, and Chiang Mai and Thailand in general are on the list. Air quality affect the very young and the old retiree's the MOST.. Advice I give to my friends is! If retired stay out to Thailand all together. Even for a short visit. Thank goodness for the anti western sentiment the Thai government is projecting to the people. At least people from the US will stop visiting. -

Won't be long before the Thai internet censors start deleting negative posts. Or banning sites that say anything bad about Thailand.
