Looking for a roof foam spray company in Phuket.
Phnom Penh Trader replied to merijn's topic in Phuket
This is absolute nonsense Icynene from Canada is specifically manufactured to work in massive extremes from minus 40 degrees to plus 40 degrees,as that is what they have in parts of Canada they even say 40 to 40 for winter to summer over there! Insulation is measured by U values and the lower the figure the more efficient the insulation is,fibreglass has a U value of either 0.20 or 0.30 I can’t remember exactly now but Icynene open cell has a U value of 0.036,. So it is at least 7-8 times more effective possibly more than fibreglass which is probably the most used form of insulation worldwide but a product from the 1930s. To dispose of fibreglass in the UK now it must be bagged, tagged and incinerated disposed of in the same way as deadly asbestos what does that tell you? It is banned in many states in the USA,it is banned in Germany also and probably many other European nations? Icynene open cell sprayfoam is widely used in America in the hot states like California and Florida to reduce the ridiculous cost of air-conditioning systems it performs with excellence in hot climates as it is designed exactly for this,as well as to keep homes warm in cold climates. In Europe if it doesn’t work you will be cold at winter,in Canada it is matter of life and death! -

I have some bad news for you that is closed cell sprayfoam which shouldn’t be applied to residential properties with timber roofs as it is not breathable,it will destroy your roof the beams will eventually turn to dust and you will be shelling out for a new roof structure at an eye-watering cost. The only sprayfoam that should be applied to houses is open cell and the best is Icynene from Canada,it should also be sprayed onto membrane preferably breathable membrane to validate the 25-year guarantee directly from the Canadian manufacturer. Spraying directly onto the tiles or slate is problematic as if you get a cracked tile or slate in a storm when you replace it you will pull a plug of sprayfoam out with it and it will need to be resprayed. -
Who has retired to other Asian countries?

It’s just nonsense though most Filipinos/as want to leave there as there are no decent jobs for them,no manufacturing or anything as it is all islands that’s her problem! Many Western jobs can be done online such as web development, marketing, online trading etc. Of course you won’t succeed trying to sell services to locals that’s why many foreigners open expat bars or businesses focusing on foreigners only, even financial services there are plenty of IFAs/International Financial Advisers based over there. -
“Everybody in the world is seeking happiness—and there is one sure way to find it. That is by controlling your thoughts. Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions. It isn’t what you have or who you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.” Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People, p 67. (1936)

When you live in the Philippines you have male friends that are exactly the same as your male friends back at home in the West be it UK,America,Europe,Canada or wherever? They will generally be of the more educated and well travelled type of local, these guys won’t let you buy beers for them or treat them with charity it is an insult to them as much as your friends back home? Also the girls travel very well if you have a Filipina girlfriend or wife she will settle in a Western country no problem,as all exams in the Philippines at school are in the English language. Thai girls don’t travel well at all a bit like Guinness, for one they generally aren’t great at speaking English and secondly they are taught at school (unfairly) that Thailand is the centre of the Universe and they expect the rest of the world to regard them as such. Leaders of men and Captains of Industry but unfortunately the world generally has a very different view and the harsh reality is often too much for them to bear, meaning that they will probably want to go home where they are insulated against such world views? -

You realise that Muay Thai is widely acknowledged as the deadliest fighting art on the Planet Earth,to the point that pretty much ALL MMA fighters use Muay Thai for their standup skills and BJJ/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for their ground game? You seem like a decent, honest guy but some of the things that you are saying about the Philippines is just absolute nonsense, pure fantasy from a Hollywood movie nothing more! -
Chinese man gets his finger chopped off and held captive

I honestly thought I was on a different forum and assumed it was about Westport / Sihanoukville / Kampong Som! ???? -
Not a betting man but if I were my money would be on the experience with those other companies being no different to the current one?

The problem that you have is of course that they are professionals at this and you are not, therefore your choices will be very limited most likely to a very poor contract for your daughter or no contract at all? I would suggest that the timespan of said contract is going to be the most important part here,as the shorter the better meaning a renegotiation will be necessary at some point where you can reevaluate your options regarding promoting her and remuneration etc?

Really when I said Khao Lak I was meaning the whole of that Andaman coast above Phuket,I did just look it up on Google maps and it was much higher up than I thought so thanks for filling in the blanks with the correct resort names for that area.

If you’re willing to go further afield I’ve heard that Trang is one of Thailand’s few remaining unspoilt paradises left, obviously avoiding Thailand’s answer to Sicily/Napoli the infamous Nakhon Si Thammarrat!

Khao Lak is supposed to be very beautiful on the Andaman Coast just above you/Phuket and far less touristy than the suggested by others Phang Nga?
