Think about it please and look at the photo! Fro. The photo and the straightness of the vehicle it looks like it just drove straight into the well lit tented area and I don't think children can throw water 30 ++ meters up the road to effect breaking do you? I personally don't like Songkran however I think this family took extremely good precautions to allow their children to play. Blame the driver not the victims!!!

Very sad, Watch crimes are becoming a big problem in the UK as gangs are targeting, following and robbing people wearing expensive watches. I love watches but thankfully prefer antique pocket watches or old vintage wrist watches. JW Benson watches have a great history (my favorite maker) and my 60 year old Omega "sea master" is always my go to dress watch.

TAT estimates 18.5 billion baht spent during Songkran festival

Literally just asked my sister in law who is a doctor "how in Thailand can the give figures when the holiday isn't over" she just laughed and said "their crazy, stupid". Kind of says it all. She also has strong words about drunk driving injured people. I personally find thai roads so dangerous I would not drive after a glass of beer because you need to be so sharp! -

Nice retirement I imagine with medical and dental free and free food and boarding! Time off for good behaviour might not even come close to doing 10 years. -
Seven Deadly Days of Songkran Road Accident Update in Thailand

Think a third of those injured die from their injuries maybe slightly more in Thailand figures. -
Seven Deadly Days of Songkran Road Accident Update in Thailand
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The slaughter never ends infact the deaths dip during the deadly days it's just the spotlight is shined on these days and compared to other "deadly days" on record. Isn't it also true that on average a third of those injured actually die from their injuries? -
A little note to those who are so clever and worldly: the scams run now are so very sophisticated, one I get hit with often in the uk happens when I'm waiting for a parcel delivery (sometimes from Thailand). A problem with the parcel, a Post Office Link Page which is identical to the real post office Web page. Wanting a small charge and bank details to do the transfer!!!a crewed phone call is from Amazon that states £799.00 monthly charge is about to be taken from your account (£7.99) this is the hook!!!so many scum out there and sadly most seem to be from Asia. I've been swan arso many times by them.... but I never ever decry anyone who falls for these scams, neither should any of the supposed worldly characters on here.

No matter how experienced you are Thailand's roads are so very dangerous. Tourist's who can turn up at a shope show I'd and ride off into the sunset (zero training). Mix in Thai driving and then add a little thai ego, well what could go wrong? Went to pick the wife and her friend up from an island trip and even before I left the village 3 times a thai on a scooter just pulled out infront of me. The whole 15km journey was full of very bad dangerous drivers from crawling along, pulling across 3 lanes to speeding weavingthrough traffic. Reminded me of taking the children to school before we left......

I would disagree. A few days or a week is easily missed however when you get into 3 or 4 figures a different story and they are the ones that should be reported. Using foreigners as a score card is despicable.

Wow, I just had to stop reading the victim Blaming on here: how dare you come to thailand and get hurt, beaten to a pulp or killed etc. The arrogance of people expecting to get a good service, paths you can walk on, roads you can travel on without fear of death, go for a walk without fear of being robbed or worse. Heaven forbid you dare try exciting activities and expect they are safe!!! Spend meny thousands of pounds going to thailand for your holiday the slip on poorly maintained structures and break your neck... the owner of the structure has responsibility (regardless of what country its in) if unsafe then appropriate signage and fencing should be erected (before an accident occurs and not afterwards).

Pattaya Police Launch City-Wide Search Targeting Foreigners on Overstay

How to bring in tourism. I can only imagine the shakedown of armed brown shirt mafia has on a tourist and their words of wisdom to any and all in their home country. -
Bangkok makes pact with Moscow to collaborate on 6 aspects
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The last time the uk had a military coup in 1653. You should study history and not believe the snap shot left wing zealots. The British Empire brought stability and prevented mass genocide as was happening in India! Stop slavery (a fact that GB just finisd paying the debt for retribution's paid not to mention the over 3000 RN sailors who lost their lives). So yes I am very happy to be in my country and I can hold my head high. I suppose if you live in a bubble and care not about the suffering of others with an I'm alright Jack attitude dod on!!! -
Bangkok makes pact with Moscow to collaborate on 6 aspects

My home country! Why? I have many Thai friends and family in Thailand however strangely most of my expat friends have also left Thailand: some went to other Asian countries but most had enough and went home to their own countries. -
Bangkok makes pact with Moscow to collaborate on 6 aspects
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Oh it did not take long! I did leave! I left everything my house I built and my motorbikes (big bikes), my house contents everything. I would never have moved to Thailand in 2010 if it still had a military government (I left before when the previous coup happened also). Unbelievable first grade attitude, very sad. Some people have integrity. -
Bangkok makes pact with Moscow to collaborate on 6 aspects
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I am talking about 1945 after ww2 ended! GB wanted Thailand to pay war retribution's due to siding with Japan, declaring war on the allies and colaberated militarily with Japan. However, USA wanted a foot hold in Asia and came up with a really lame excuse "The declaration was not received". Their actions were ignored! -
Now this is terrible and this is real underage trafficking! Filled with sadness at a child of 14 being held against her will and sold as no more than a sex slave and same goes for the 17 year old infact any age is despicable but it's not new in Thailand and there are several books written exposing it. Now this is what gofundme should be used for so these girls can have their lives rebuilt with a secured future.

Think it's time the West dealt with Thailand which should of happened after WW2. If Thailand wants to get into bed with China and Russia they should learn there are consequences. Start with stopping all foreign aid, stop trade, confiscate all investments, property of all those involved in 2016 coup including the financiers! I love Thailand dearly but nothing will change till those running the country are brought down.- 100 replies

Diablos, Khon Kaen – just a group of expats with a love of bikes
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Why so nasty? They have a common interest "A Love Of Motor Bikes", they want friendship, brotherhood and to live by a code. Early members of clubs were veterans returning from the war. Some join the masons, Buffs and obviously some on here; Girl Guides!!! -
BoT Raises Interest Rate to 1.75%
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I was in Thailand when it was taken off the currency watch list by USA and I saw the baht immediately spiralled upwards. I believe there is so much laundering going through Thai banks now from all over the world. Hence coups and international investment leaving at unprecedented rates and yet the baht soars.
