I read these stories and have to shake my head in despair, it's such a sad state of affairs that Immi has to check, counter check, counter counter check. FWIW I have a one year fixed deposit that I roll over ever year so I never have to worry about this aspect, not until Immi gets so paranoid that insist I bring my bank book in daily to confirm I haven't spent any of the sacred 400k. Is anyone else getting fed up with this nonsense!

Paxlovid / Covid treatments in BKK if needed
nigelforbes replied to chubby's topic in Health and Medicine
I was prescribed Molnupiravar by a private hospital in CM, the total bill for testing and the anti-viral came to 2,300. -
Again, it's a system flaw or limitation, I guess they didn't expect to get readings that high.

There is almost no impact on the value of exports regardless of whether THB is strong or weak. The key factors that affect export levels are the state of the home economy of the importing country. I've posted the BOT report on this subject several times, they have looked at Baht value vs export levels over two decades and the link just doesn't exist.

A reading of 500 is so far above the WHO maximum safe limit that it makes no sense whatsoever to suggest government might be using that as some sort of limit, so as not to deter tourists. Why not 190 or 235, that might conceivably have a positive affect on attitudes. And the idea that people would accept that somehow, magically, a whole bunch of different areas around CM suddenly have an AQI reading of exactly 500, do you realize what that would do to the lottery ticket trade, ticket sellers would be swamped with demand for tickets containing 500! ???? A nice round number is likely to be a system limitation in some area I would imagine, why look for outlandish and far fetched conspiracy theory solutions when there are simple easily explained once staring right at you.
-
The only funny business is your conspiracy theory, which is just hilarious. A nationwide coordinated effort to not show AQI numbers over 500, in order to preserve tourism.......now I've heard it all!.

I use a (legit) agent for convenience, I think the photo's are probably a part of their standard documentation request package. I've never been asked for anything regarding neighbors but it will be interesting if I am. One is of Far Eastern origin, who I think is being detained for selling expedited visa's to his fellow countrymen, the other is a retired policeman of a most senior rank.

A number of conditions can simulate a feeling of trapped gas that wont expel, if it persists, go get it checked out. In the meantime, try changing your diet and getting some more exercise to see if that alters the feeling.

How do you know it's gas and not something else? Seriously?

Ok, so you'd describe yourself as a well informed, globally connected well of socio/economic information then! -

Paxlovid / Covid treatments in BKK if needed
nigelforbes replied to chubby's topic in Health and Medicine
I doubt that very much, I think what you probably got was molnupiravir. Paxlovid is only now becoming available in Bangkok. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40014766 -
FWIW the insured value of my truck is 75K more using Roojai than any of the alternatives, it's worth far more dead than alive! Also, the death liability is 5 mill using Roojai and only 1 or 2 mill. with all the others, that was the clincher for me. Finally, my premium under Roojai is about 5k cheaper than the alternatives. The things I don't like as well are that Roojai starts issuing reminders to reinsure, three or four months before the expiration date, SMS and email. Even if you agree, you still can't stop the messages. We fell out badly on this point but I couldn't find a better deal elsewhere.

Paxlovid / Covid treatments in BKK if needed

Bumrungrad is one of the top hospitals in the country, they are more than capable of testing for or treating covid, as are virtually all hospitals here. I am not aware that Paxlovid has been imported to Thailand. -
Bangkok makes pact with Moscow to collaborate on 6 aspects

"I didn't know that the US and the BOT were the same entity"! Sarcasm can be great at times, can't it! Some people are not inclined to believe BOT numbers so providing a US government link for the US exports side, and a BOT link for the Thai exports side, removes any objections that might arise. I posted the trade in goods initially because those stats alone confirm the point I made. It was you, in your subsequent post, who declared that the US was Thailand's biggest trading partner, an idea that subsequently needed to be refuted, hence a deeper exploration of what a trading partner really means. My sense from your posts is that you haven't really come here intending to seriously debate US/Thai economics but instead to score points and find loop holes to try and trip up others. I'm sorry if you find the topic complex, it does involve lots of avenues and rarely if ever involves simple yes or no answers. I recommend you read more on the subject, it really is very interesting once you begin to understand it, complexities and all. OK I'm done now. Bye. -

Umm, you do realize that the link in the OP is from the US Government which like BOT is also the horses mouth, neither being third party commercial sites! -
Thailand’s diesel price to drop to 33 baht per litre on Friday
nigelforbes replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The Fuel Stabilisation Fund sits between the importer/producers and the consumer. The Fuel Stabilization Fund is operated by government and is also funded by them, it's purpose and practice is to smooth out the peaks and valleys in the end cost of fuel in an attempt to keep it as level as possible. The cost of oil and fuel spiked very high during covid but the fund kept prices lower than they would otherwise have been. Case in point, the cost of diesel was kept artificially low, which means inflation was also kept lower than it might have been because increased transportation costs weren't passed on. Ditto the price of electricity which is reliant on the price of oil and gas at many generators. Is all that manipulation? I have absolute confidence that some posters will call it that and call for public hangings et al. -

You forget the fuel stabilization fund which has to be reimbursed for keeping prices lower when the cost of oil was increasing. All of this may be moot anyway, OPEC has just announced large cuts so the supply side is falling whilst demand is increasing, that means higher prices at some point downstream.
