Electric Vehicles in Thailand
Skipalongcassidy replied to Bandersnatch's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Your report from motortrend is only on one country a cold climate country, Sweden, and is behind the times... recent reports are more indicative that ev fires are more common and more deadly... especially in warm countries where the batteries overheat and burst into flames. -

AOT and immigration unite to tackle Suvarnabhumi Airport queues
Skipalongcassidy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You certainly didn't do it in Chiang Mai... it takes at least 30 minutes to get a number. The empty desks have employees but they are at snack or lunch most of the time... adding more won't make any difference. -

Northern Thailand braces for severe air pollution crisis
Skipalongcassidy replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
"The fiscal budget allocation delay, from October 2023 to likely the following month, has intensified the debate. Opposition parties argue that declaring Chiang Mai a disaster area would grant the province additional funds to control the forest fires causing much of the pollution." Charge the sugar cane industry and clean up your act... until the spoilers have to pay for their actions nothing will happen. -

While immigrants contribute to federal tax revenue, they also place strains on state and local governments' resources, particularly in areas such as public education and social welfare programs. While immigrants may not qualify for certain social welfare benefits, they still impose costs on state and local governments, leading to a net negative impact on their budgets

Chiang Mai Immigration Requiring Your Monthly Income?
Skipalongcassidy replied to jeffandgop's topic in Chiang Mai
I just renewed my extension based on marriage at CM IO... they asked what my monthly income was even though I too use the $400 bank balance method... no big deal.. I just told them the deposit figure on the bank statement/letter and reflected on the copies of my bank book... and they moved on... nothing contentious about it. They require 4 photos... front door... front of house with house number showing... kitchen... and living room... was instructed that they cannot be selfies... again no big deal. -
