So Sad. I have a friend who came home quietly one night when he was supposed to be playing in a basketball tournament. The tournament was cancelled that night due to a lighting issue at the gym. He found his wife in his bed with a mutual friend. He turned on the light and startled them. When he saw what was going on, instead of getting mad, he turned off the light and decided to get even. He left the house, drained all their jointly held bank accounts and sent a lawyer to her place of employment the next day with divorce papers. I asked him why he didn't get mad. He said he realized in a moment that she wasn't worth it. She was trash and probably cheated on him many times. He said any anger would have affected him more than her, but emptying all their joint accounts would make her just as angry as he should have been. I've always admired that man. Cool as a cucumber in the worst of times.

The sighting of six tigers raises conservationist hopes in Thailand
HuskerDo2 replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand
In another story..... Several people missing near the Salak Phra Wildlife Sanctuary. Tigers spotted on camera with fat bellies and licking their lips. -
Because that's who they are buying it from. It's old to the US but NEW to the Royal Thai Airforce thus they refer to it as new. Why they need it is another story. They don't. They said... "The airbus has previously been used for humanitarian missions in Turkey and will be retired in 2026.". How many humanitarian missions do they do each year? A blatant waste of money but someone will get a nice brown envelope for making it happen.

Why is it so difficult to be objective?

It's called being human. You can't know ahead of time if you'll like something, be it food, a different country, a new doctor, your new parents-in-law or anything else. You have to experience it. Some people like certain things that others don't. Again, it's called being human. If everyone was alike it would be a boring world. -
Here's a beautiful opportunity to put a dent in the air pollution. Have them sign an agreement not to burn. An agent will stop by unannounced several times during the season to ensure there is no sign of burning. If there is, then the loan is rescinded and they will pay a nice big fine on top of that.

When does the burn ban start and end in Thailand?
HuskerDo2 replied to CALSinCM's topic in General Topics
Yea, if the govt would send trucks around to pick this stuff up so the farmers don't need to burn it and take it all to a composting site they can turn around and sell the compost and use the proceeds to buy more trucks. My grandfather was a farmer and he never burnt a thing. He would plow things under in the fall and it would basically turn into compost/fertilizer for the next planting season. It's amazing how the Thai govt doesn't seem to have the capacity to think more clearly. -

As the saying goes... "you get what you pay for". I very much doubt the line of people heading to Laos is very long at all. -
Another stupid idea by the Thai police. It's stunning what they come up with. Yet, the French Consul likes the idea. Says a lot about the brain cell capacity (or lack thereof) in the cranium of the Frenchies. Just have some rules for lawbreakers including minimum sentences and monetary penalties. If they are harsh enough the crime will stop.

Not sure why they think he "stole" it. He probably had several people in his taxi during the day and noticed it at one point and had no idea who might have left it there. If I accidently dropped 1,000 baht on the ground when I was leaving a restaurant and someone else picked it up would they be accused of stealing or just being in the right place at the right time? I think this taxi driver should be apologized to. The silly lady that left it there is responsible for the situation. I think the phrase "finders keepers" applies here. -
What a horrible accident. So sad. Since no one here knows what really happened it might be wise to hold off on blaming the driver. It could have been a mechanical failure or maybe one of the occupants distracted him. It's probably just best to pray for the grieving families.

Try a couple rubber snakes on the balcony or put some speakers out there and crank it up from inside for a few seconds several times a day to scare them. They will most likely move on. There is also a spray called Bird-B-Gone that you can probably buy online. Seems to be very effective. Other than that maybe get a ladder and take down the net the Russians put up. They won't be back soon and the pigeons will probably thank you personally. ????

88% of Thailand bank accounts have less than 50,000 THB

Clueless one.... let me remind you that before the internet days there was no such thing as cyber crime where your bank acct could be drained while you sleep. Nor would your bank or hospital or utility be held hostage until the crooks are send some goofy bitcoin. Also, let me remind you of the explosion in drugs like fentanyl that is killed hundreds of thousands of the young these days. Let me remind you of the global warming that is changing the lives of most of the inhabitants of the Earth. Let me remind you also of.... nevermind. You're a know-it-all and have everything figured out, right. Have a great day. -

Yea, the world is different for sure these days. As I've said many times, I'm very glad I was born when I was. I'd hate to see what this world has become in 30 or 40 years. Won't be good. I hope I'm wrong for the sake of the innocent being born today but.... -

I find different stats (from the FDIC). It's all so sad that so many people are financially illiterate......... An estimated 4.5 percent of U.S. households (approximately 5.9 million) were “unbanked” in 2021, meaning that no one in the household had a checking or savings account at a bank or credit union. The median transaction account balance is $5,300, according to the Federal Reserve. The majority of U.S. households — 98 percent — have a transaction account, such as a savings account. Singles and younger adults tend to have lower transaction account balances. Less than half of U.S. households — about 4 in 10 — said they were able to cover an unexpected $1,000 expense, like a car repair or medical bill, in January 2022. Meanwhile, 58 percent of adults surveyed in June 2022 said they were uneasy with their level of emergency savings. Most American adults — about 76 percent — have not seen an increase in their emergency savings balance over the past year. Slightly over half of U.S. adults have more emergency savings than they do credit card debt, as of January 2022. Even though nearly 3 in 5 adults are contributing at least as much as they were the previous year to retirement savings, 55 percent still say they’re behind on their retirement savings. -
"He claimed that sadistic sex is what farangs do, there was nothing unusual in that."..... yea, sure. All farangs are that way. Let's just make a blanket statement like that to divert attention away from you. "If he was in the wrong then he will pay compensation to the victim."...... IF??????? IF?????? The Insanity in this world is off the charts.
