Rape is not a criminal term, it's a common law term. You don't need a criminal conviction to be called a rapist. If your daughter/sister/mother brought home a guy who had been found liable for sexual assault, but never convicted criminally, would you say, "Hey! He's never been criminally convicted- probably a standup guy!" And if that guy had 25 other allegations of sexual crimes? Trump has not been criminally convicted of rape, but he has been labeled a rapist by a court.
