I've three accounts with Bangkok Bank and they were not so insistent on the visa class but really wanted a work permit. I'm on an O and could bicker but I just bring the wp and boom done. I'll only have it another few years max.
Try bringing in a decent sum to open. 250k that might help

A school of no importance. Doubly more important that funds are used properly to improve that situation.

She won't be back and has nothing to lose. No worry about black lists, laughable libel/slander laws.
Truth to power.
27k that's extortion, high crimes and far more than the national median monthly income. What a gouge. Venal.

It never had any appeal to me after my first visit in 92. The architecture is different.
It's dusty, smoky, hot.
Only appeal is for broke retirees. I'm not keen on Pattaya but I'd rather live even there and subjecting my wife to that circus as well than live upcountry.

have you forgotten where you are ? This is Thailand pal, you need to learn to keep your eyes open and to trust nobody. Anybody selling anything anywhere needs to be regarded with a healthy suspicion , This includes but is not limited to, Lotus, Big C , PTT , PEA, 7/11 , Global , Thai Watsadoo , Homepro, Do-home , etc. all chinese hardware shops, any local markets, mom and pop shops and of course anything connected to the motor, trade.including main dealers
You also need to keep your wits about you when dealing with Banks, Insurance companies and hospitals. and be very wary when dealing with Teachers, Immigration and the Police, infact anybody wearing a uniform or receiving a government salary.
Exercise caution when dealing with "tradesmen" especially electricians. and maintain vigilance when paying in hotels , restaurants and of course bars
Its a battlefield out there! with thousands of them lurking in the shadows, just waiting to rip you off, with or without the help of your missis . Always check your change . and don't forget to be extra alert around drug dealers lol
Oh dear God. I've been living here for 30 yrs. Yeah, got it champ.
I'm buying a gram. It's a simple purchase and don't expect to bicker over .25gm of marginal weed but I guess I need to. I figured I'd get a straight up deal the weed is not cheap.
I know I now need to check always.

What? Never heard of such a thing. I'm still not drawing social security why would I need to do that?!

I hope to be changing condos in a month or so.
What documents do I need to present to immigration?
Can I notify next 90 day or I'd read I must do it asap after contract date (24 hours). I'm sure no one hits the window so another case of money spinner.
Thanks

Follow the thread.
Bangkok Bank charges a commission to take a cash deposit into one's Bangkok Bank saving account if the deposit is not being made at the same branch of Bangkok Bank that holds the account.
What????

No, any counter transaction when the passport has to be presented. Cash deposits require ID also now.
Except I deposited 300k last week in two different banks and not asked for so while you are correct it's not always a practice

I have also done this before with SCB but it seems nowadays they check for valid visa for everything. Have to have a valid visa to register at a hospital for example.
Lol. Only withdrawals. Thai banks are though overly cautious. Still lax about deposits, ID.

I'm sorry but this just so funny. Farangs alerting each other as to which exit to take from MRT stations because a patch of the pavement outside one of them is smelly and dirty......in Bangkok!
This is even more funny.
Another absolutely worthless babbling post.
The post was initially about the irony of me alerting the safety and health police to that sanitation mess yesterday only to return today to find it even more dirty.
The second hilarious thing about this thread is that it somehow has taken on a life of me whining about my third world existence.
The next bit of stupidity is a form member found what I posted of it helpful and thought that would provide for him and opportunity to divert from that mess I mean why look at it? Then, we have people with endless time on their hands that have to somehow post about the four member finding something helpful or useful in my post and somehow that becomes the focus of the thread.
That is insane

Neither of these posts contribute anything to the conversation.
I don't know where you live pal but I live in Bangkok and the city of Bangkok is not third world.

You'll forgive me OP but you appear to making a first world complaint in a third world country.
This is absolutely moronic. The Bangkok Subway compares to any subway around the world. It is first class.
This mess is less than 3 m from their property markers.
I've been in Thailand for an East Asia for 30 years. I've traveled all over the Indian subcontinent as well as spending years in Indonesia. I don't need any lectures about what should be or be not.
This should be not
in modern Bangkok which just went live with another recreational park just today.
This is dead center Bangkok. The MRT stop itself is perhaps four stops away from Sukhumvhit.

So are all 4 letter words for excrement deleted?
It's household waste. Yes, sour and rancid. Amazing bc Rhythm Ratchada 50m away as is Ideo and Ibis Hotel.

1 hour ago, Celsius said:You are a laff and a half.
I have lived in HuayKwang for thirteen years.
I'd been living here for a donkey's age BEFORE that ad hoc garbage dump for a few tiny slums on the side was even created. Apparently so lazy they cannot even bag their trash (which is now apparently an ordinance bc all the trash trucks here now work only with bagged trash.
I can tell by your post you know little of Bangkok and even less about HuayKwang. Flooding, rarely lol mmmm 2010 I think.
What a strident, arrogant and worthless opinion.

He's been grubbing for this for nearly a decade.
The absolutely pathetic thing is that they have NEVER explicitly stated precisely what the fund is for. It's just free money from *rich westerners*.
Doubly repulsive, not specifically limited to tourists.
It's typical Thailand. Funny, the minute the place opens the graft machine lurches into motion. It's positively vernal
