  1. ~ The 'Kary guy' you refer to is Kary Mullis. An American biochemist who in recognition of his role in the invention of the polymerase chain reaction technique, shared the 1993 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Michael Smith and was awarded the Japan Prize in the same year.
  2. ~ The definition of a 'vaccine' had to be changed in order to include these new platform shots. Traditional vaccines and mRNA inoculations are basically different. Using the argument that this new technology is safe because the traditional method was, is anything but 'science based on reasoning'.
  3. Studied yes, used no. mRNA vaccines were first used in humans during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, both of which are mRNA vaccines, were granted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in December 2020. These were the first mRNA vaccines authorized for widespread use in humans.
  4. Yep, a 4 February 2021 article, approx 1.5 month after the roll-out of the covid-vaccines in US which started 14 December 2020. And then using the 'safety history' argument of traditional vaccines, and apply it to the mRNA covid-vaccines that use a totally different platform, is rather disingenuous. Next one please...
  5. ~ His Imm Officer told him that he would need - on top of the ongoing 65K payments - to provide evidence of 12 months 'funds in bank' for making the switch. He could of course seek confirmation from the Manager of the Imm Office what is required at his local Imm Office for such switch.
  6. Yes, the Re-Entry Permit will protect your last Wednesday renewed 1-year Permission to Stay, but it does not require cancelling it as you can use it for your 2 trips abroad, and exit and re-enter Thailand during the last days of your current 'protected' Permission to stay. Also, and that would be mighty unfortunate, you could already be 'too late' to meet the requirement for showing +800K during the last 12 months for next year's application. Unless your new Permission to Stay date is mid November or later, and you have the +800K funds transferred from abroad and arriving on your bank-account such that you can show that the funds are there already 12 months when applying for your next 1-year extension. But if you would exit and re-enter during the last days of your current Permission to stay, there is also no need to already transfer the +800K now, as you could do that just before or after your re-entered Thailand, as the funds only need to be available at moment of application (21 days before Permission to stay expiry date from your VisaExempt entry).
  7. ~ Totally disingenuous response. When starting a thread on the Covid-19 Sub-forum AseanNow, the requirement is that your opening post should ONLY contain factual information from an approved source. Also it should be limited to max 3 phrases. So I textually quoted and referenced both the latest CDC report and the FDA's website. And in my comment I simply mentioned the most relevant facts from the CDC provided figures re currently circulating covid-variants. = = = In the discussion that ensued, I then provided my personal stance and opinion on the matter. This will be my final response to your misplaced and false allegations, as your posts are nothing more than a personal attack.
  8. ~ Read my post > it's not an 'interpretation' or 'opinion' but simply a factual observation based on the CDC provided table.
  9. Yes, and if even 99% of them would be mistaken and they died from a different cause, that would still leave 800.000 people knowing someone that died from the vaccine. But you BELIEVE that only nine people died from the covid-19 vaccine, because those are the only cases that the CDC confirmed.
  10. ~ The key-word in that ridiculous Fact-check report is that the CDC only CONFIRMED nine deaths caused by Covid-19 vaccines. And this while 24% of the US population - approx 80 million people - say that they know someone that died from taking the covid-19 vaccine. Even if 99% of them would be mistaken and they died from a different cause, that would still leave 800.000 people knowing someone that died from the vaccine.
  11. @StevieAus When it is confirmed that you simultaneously need to comply with the requirements for BOTH methods, during the full year prior to the new 1-year extension applications, you could of course do the following. And that is to exit Thailand without a Re-Entry Permit close to your permission to stay expiry date. On return you will be stamped in VisaExempt and receive a 30-day permission to stay. And then - when having at least 21 days (CM requirement) left on your permission to stay - you simply apply for a NEW 90-day Non Imm O Visa for reason of retirement. When doing so the +800K (with foreign origins proven or already long-time seasoned on your personal Thai bank-account) only need to be on your bank-account at moment of application. Of course there are some drawbacks on doing this: # Having to exit and re-enter Thailand # Having to re-do your TM-30 notification after having re-entered # You would be applying for the 90-day Non Imm O Visa, and hence you would be under consideration after acceptance of the application. And so that means two visits to the Imm Office before you get the Visa stamp and then 2 months later being able to apply for the 1-year extension based on the 800K 'funds in bank' method. # The annual date for your 1-year Permission to stay would change (which might be either convenient or inconvenient).
  12. Yes, and almost as many (42%) say that, if there was a major class-action lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies for vaccine side effects, they would be likely to join the lawsuit.
  13. Nearly a quarter of Americans believe someone they know died from COVID-19 vaccine side effects, and even more say they might be willing to become plaintiffs in a class-action lawsuit against vaccine makers. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 24% of American Adults say they know someone personally who died from side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. Sixty-nine percent (69%) don’t know anyone who died from being vaccinated against the virus. (To see survey question wording, click here.) Forty-two percent (42%) say that, if there was a major class-action lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies for vaccine side effects, they would be likely to join the lawsuit, including 24% who say it’s Very Likely they’d join such a lawsuit. 14. ~ This thread is not about me. The topic is about the rapidly mutating covid-variants, and the fact that the landscape of circulating variants did change significantly by the time the new updated covid-vaccines are rolled out. The FDA was proud to announce that the new updated booster which they approved mid September was targetting the XBB 1.5 variant, which was the dominant variant end of July, but which in mean time has become almost extinct. And the currently dominant variant HV.1 was insignificant at that time. Source: https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-takes-action-updated-mrna-covid-19-vaccines-better-protect-against-currently-circulating Source: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#variant-proportions Now of course, the experts 'expect' that the current booster 'may' still provide some protection against death and hospitalization when catching covid. That the vaccine does NOT protect against catching covid in the first place should now be common knowledge (although when I talk with people about it many did not get that message), and it is most probably the main reason why the booster-uptake is 'abysmally' low. But by all means if you believe that the risk/benefit for taking the current booster is positive for you, do take the jab. Just be aware that the mainstream media are 'somewhat' biased in touting these wonder-products...
  15. Looks like you are obsessed with fear, and are projecting it on me. ~ I hope that helps to allay your fears about that. ~ I get that you are put into a state of panic when things change. ~ You go into a high level of fear and so you are unable to cope well. ~ ... and here's the scary part so hold on to something ... ~ Now I hate to frighten you further ~ I hope that does not cause you mutation nightmares. As I wrote earlier, in response to your earlier nonsense. > A total misunderstanding. I do not fear the virus. I have a robust immune system (never vaxxed, and never sick by the way) and if I got covid I didn't even notice it. But yes I fear for my loved ones that were deluded or coerced into taking the shots. Those that are currently still lining up to get the latest jab to 'protect' themselves, are the fearful - and gullible - ones. ... And no I am not a hermit, and never wear a face [mask] nor practice (a)social distancing, and go to gatherings in my village where large groups congregate.
  16. Okay, I adapted my statement: The current jab is 'expected' / 'may' / 'should' reduce your symptoms leading to hospitalization and death, when catching covid. But of course the large majority of the population still believes the earlier 24/7 propaganda that the jabs will 'protect you from catching covid'.
  17. You are currently on a 90-day Permit to stay based on your 1-year ME Non Imm O Marriage Visa. When wanting to apply at a Thai Imm Office for the 1-year extension of that Non Imm O Marriage Visa, that needs to be done first time for the SAME reason that the Visa was provided. So for this first 1-year extension application in your case you can only do this for reason of Marriage. Making use of an Agent for an application based on Marriage is possible but due to the much larger administrative burden, such a service is much more expensive than an Agent service for a Visa and/or 1-year Extension application for reason of retirement. And not all Agents provide that service for a Visa and/or Extension based on Marriage. = = = Also note that if you want in the future to change the reason for your 1-year extension of stay from Marriage to Retirement, that this is a 2-step process: 1 - The Imm Officer would first check whether you did meet the (financial) conditions under which your Marriage extension was provided. When that criterium has been met then 2 - The Imm Officer will check whether you meet the requirements for a 1-year extension of stay for reason of Retirement. Which means that you need to provide evidence of having met the financial requirements during the 12 months prior to the date of application. In other words, when you apply next March for the 1-year extension of stay for reason of Marriage, you should have already started with meeting the financial requirements for NEXT year's 1-year extension for reason of Retirement, otherwise you would not be able to meet that 12-months requirement.
  18. The current jab is 'expected' 'may' 'should' protect you from catching covid, while its composition is mainly targetting an almost extinct variant. So its effectiveness is questionable (similar like the yearly Flu-vaccines which are based on Guesswork which variant would be dominant for the coming season). And then I am not even addressing the potential serious adverse effects of the mRNA-shots.
  19. I highlighted some words in your post > #1 - ... so there's expected to be continuing protection. #2 - ... disease experts say the new shots should offer cross-protection against the currently dominant strains #3 - "Experts say that the updated COVID-19 vaccine is expected to help provide protection from this variant. The updated vaccine is based on the XBB.1.5, and HV.1 is a “grandchild” of the XBB.15 variant. So the available vaccines may protect against the serious disease caused by HV.1." Doesn't create much confidence to me...
  20. A new COVID-19 virus variant, dubbed HV.1, has overtaken EG.5 (Eris) as the leading variant diagnosed in the United States, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) latest Oct. 28 report. HV.1 has risen from 1.1 percent in early August to 25.2 percent of COVID cases. Meanwhile, EG.5 declined from 24.3 percent on Sept. 30 to its current share of 21.9 percent within one month. Source: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#variant-proportions The covid-19 vaccine was updated to include a monovalent (single) component that corresponds to the Omicron variant XBB.1.5, and approved and authorized for emergency use by the FDA on Sept. 11, and it is that covid-vaccine that is currently being rolled out. Source: https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-takes-action-updated-mrna-covid-19-vaccines-better-protect-against-currently-circulating My comment: Take a closer look at the CDC table with an overview of the reported genomic sequencing. End of July the XBB 1.5 variant was the dominant variant (16.8 %) and HV.1 had only 0.5%. But currently that's not the case anymore. According to the latest CDC report XBB 1.5 now only occurs in 0.6 % of cases, while the the previous almost neglible HV.1 variant is now the dominant variant and occuring in 25.2 % of cases. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#variant-proportions
  21. Did you have covid-19 and if so when and how many times? And were you covid-19 vaccinated? Your symptoms sound like 'long covid' or vax-injury. It's clearly not 'in your head', the excuse given when there is no indication of the cause. Do visit a medical doctor to get advice on how to treat the symptoms and causes of your condition. Wish you a speedy recovery!
  22. ~ When you fly back to Europe, I presume you will be visiting your home-country. So why not apply while you are there for the 1-year MultipleEntry Non Imm O Marriage eVisa (the application has to be done when you are in your home-country, but as the eVisa is provided by e-mail, you are not confined to stay there till it arrives). Also in case your application for the 1-year ME one is denied, the Thai Embassy from your home-country will in most cases then automatically provide you with a 90-day SingleEntry Non Imm O Marriage eVisa.
  23. ~ My old passport was damaged but I was still able to use it to fly back to my home-country. When I applied in Belgium for a new passport, the young lady at the municipality where you have to file the application in person wanted to keep my old damaged passport to destroy it. I explained to her that I needed that old passport as it contained my 1-year Permission to stay based on my Non Imm O Retirement Visa as well as a Re-Entry Permit. I had to be persuasive and politely told her that the normal procedure is to clip a corner of the passport such that the passport is invalidated. She then did this, and handed me my old passport back after having filed my application for the new passport. If she had refused to hand me my old passport back, I would have left the municipality and come back another day when a more knowledgeable staffer would be available. = = = I feel for you that the official you dealt with destroyed your old passport. You are correct that your Thai Imm Office might have done the relevant stamp transfers to your new passport based on the photo-copies and their records. But you almost certainly won't be able to persuade a Thai border Imm officer to 'honor' your Re-Entry Permit based on photocopies from your old passport. And so it looks that you will probably have to go through the whole procedure of applying for a 90-day Non Imm O Visa either while still in your home-country or after having entered Thailand again VisaExempt or on a Tourist Visa. Probably the easiest route for you to follow now is to apply for the 90-day Non Imm O eVisa while still in your home-country (provided you have enough time before your planned departure to Thailand). And once you are in Thailand you then need to file a new TM-30 to notify local Immigration of the address in their province where you are staying. = = = It is indeed absolutely dismal that an incompetent official destroyed your passport against your will, and in your place I would file a complaint to avoid that other applicants will have to go through same ordeal.
  24. ~ Yes, every Hotel/guesthouse is required by Thai law to notify local Immigration that a foreigner is staying at their premises. That's why they ask for your passport, so that they can take over the required data and file that required TM-30 notification on-line. And on simple request the Hotel/guesthouse will provide you with a copy of that TM-30 notification which they made. = = = Note that it is always a good idea to also take the small business-card which most Hotels have, that contains their address and contact-info, and keep that card in your wallet. Can be handy when the taxi-driver doesn't speak english or doesn't know the Hotel/guesthouse you want to return. And of course in this case, when there would be a problem with the TM-30 notification, the Imm Office would be able to contact the Hotel/guesthouse.
  25. On the old Imm Office TM-30 web-site, when wanting to check whether the TM30 data you uploaded had really been filed, you had to open the website again, and on the left-hand page click on the 2nd directory and select Search TM30. You had to enter your username (when it did not appear automatically, e.g. when using a different laptop/PC) and then fill in the search-period for your TM30. The search-period dates needed to be max 7 days apart and had to be in Thai date-notation. Probably still same search-period in the new system...
