Right, the UN is antisemitic. Absolute joke. The UN is the organization that granted Israel the right to exist in the first place. The fact that they do not abide by international law and subsequently get told that they are breaking law is not antisemitic. This is the problem with one sided Israel supporters, they just believe everything Israel has done is perfect., There is no blame to assign to Israel right, they are a special country.

I make a concerted effort to watch, read and listen to both sides of the conflict. Yes, I watch Piers Morgan, Douglas Murray, Jordan Peterson and other right wing media (Talk TV, GB news etc.) - But I also try my best to find experts on the topic, and of course, listen to the left which is where most of political ideology comes from. I consider myself to be on the left, with some conservative principles. I want to know what they are saying, so I can judge for myself. I did not comment on Hamas, and of course they killed a lot of people. But that does NOT give Israel the right to do whatever the hell it wants, and level the place to the ground. This is international law.

1) I think enough people have died already. 24,000 confirmed - and that's not including all of the bodies trapped under rubble. Do you not? 2) When you were protesting for LGBT rights, did you also make demands for tax cuts or for increased access to healthcare? No. When you are protesting about an issue, you protest about one issue. 3&4) I agree. It is absolutely ridiculous to use that slogan. It is akin to saying Hiel Hitler, yet claiming that it now means peace and love to all. Insane, and the protesters are only causing harm to the worthy goal of calling for a ceasefire.

You can't keep spouting the same lies (with a different date this time, why did you pick 2015?). All relevant international agencies, the UN and most governments around the world say it is occupied territory. Your opinion is irrelevant, international law matters. This is exactly why people get accused of being pro Hamas, or antisemitic - because people just say whatever they want without looking at the facts. The test in international law is: Does the military exercise – the term is “effective control” – over the land or territory? It’s like if the guards leave the prison, but they take all the keys with them; They’re still controlling how much food goes inside the prison each day and how much electricity goes into the prison each day. The people inside the prison are free to roam wherever they want within the confines of the prison but have no ability to be able to leave – that would be “effective control” over the prison. This is the same way Israel exercises effective control over who and what leaves Gaza and who and what enters Gaza, as well.

If I control all of your food, if you can leave or enter your home, open all of your mail, can turn off your electric, water, gas, internet, mobile phone signal, freedom of movement and have guards all around the perimeter of your house, am I not occupying? If all relevant international organizations, and government agencies say this: Despite the 2005 Israeli disengagement from Gaza, the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the majority of governments and legal commentators consider the territory to be still occupied by Israel Then who should people believe? You, or experts in the matter?
-
Your views on Gaza not being occupied are profoundly wrong. Every single humanitarian organization in the world, including the UN and the ICC has labeled it as such. It is legally classed as occupied territory. Your opinion on the matter is not factual, laws are. Occupation is defined in Article 42 of the Fourth Hague Convention: “Territory is considered occupied when it is actually placed under the authority of the hostile army. The occupation extends only to the territory where such authority has been established and can be exercised.” As Israel controls all movement in and out of Gaza, electricity, internet, water, air waves, passports, travel documents, birth registry etc. It most definitely controls the territory. Hamas never had any real power, this is the big lie that has been fed to you! How do you not know that Israel controls birth records? Israel knows exactly who everyone in the Gaza strip is, and what they had for lunch! It is called the population registry. You can easily google that for yourself, or check this out: https://gisha.org/en/the-population-registry/ You also mentioned earlier that Egypt controls one of the borders, so how could it possibly be a prison? However, no-one can enter another country without a passport or Israeli approved ID card, and who controls passports and ID card? Israel. Palestinian passports can only be issued in the West Bank under the authority of the PA - and guess what, Palestinians need Israeli approval to go to the west bank. Granted, Mr Finklestien is left wing, but he's hardly considered extreme. Gideon Levy is as mainstream as you can get. Haaretz is a prominent Israeli paper, and it is internationally renowned, it prints an English version if you would care to read it. Gideon Levy served in the IDF, and was a Zionist as a youngster. As he grew up and saw the suffering around him, his views changed. He is not considered extreme or far left.

Douglas Murray is an awful human being. He tried smearing Mr Finklestien, saying he was a holocaust denier - he forgot to tell his audience that Mr Finklestien's parents were both holocaust survivors and he often talks about his parents and the holocaust. He has studied, taught and written books about this conflict for over 40 years. He is an internationally renowned expert on this conflict, and lived in Gaza and the West Bank for many years. If you get your information from Douglas Murray, then you are only hearing Israeli talking points and right wing ideology. Gideon Levy is an award winning, prominent Israeli journalist who still lives in Israel, working for Haaretz newspaper. Another distinguished individual who has written books about this subject, won awards and talks around the world about it. Look at what he says about people who provide unconditional support to the right wing Israeli government. I listen to people who are experts, who have lived through it. If your watching Douglas Murray and other 'talk TV' type folks, then your only getting half the story. Every nation around the world is starting to see what is really going on, hence the massive drop in support for Israels actions. Let's see what the ICJ says in the coming week or so, that will put an end to all this nonsense. EDIT: if you look at Piers Morgan's more recent videos, you will see that his tune has changed dramatically. He is now calling out Israel for its actions.

Actually no, you can't even call it a war. Gaza is (and has been - including the West Bank) an occupied territory for decades. Wars are fought between nation states with standing armies. Gaza is an occupied and controlled territory. Israel even controls the birth records! People talk about Israel leaving Gaza in 2006, but that is just ignorant of the situation. They control the air, electricity, water, airwaves, everything going in and out of Gaza etc. I listen to Jewish & prominent Israeli professors and journalists to get the real inside scoop. Folks like Gideon Levy and Norman Finklestien. Educate yourselves. When these world famous experts say it is a genocide, and call Israel an occupying power in the west bank and Gaza - as do all international aid bodies, the UN, ICC & ICJ also all agree on this. Moving the prison guards to the perimeter of the prison is still a prison.

Seriously? Did you not read about the Nation state law passed in 2018: It states that “the right to exercise national self-determination” in Israel is “unique to the Jewish people.” It establishes “Jewish settlement as a national value” and mandates that the state “will labor to encourage and promote its establishment and development.” Not very multi-cultural or democratic eh?
-
It would not mean the end of Israel, it would be an end to a racist, apartheid state. It would become a true democracy without local committees that decide who can or can't live in which neighborhood. It would become a state where everyone is free to practice whatever religion they wish. It would become a multi-cultural democracy like that of the UK & US. Israel & Palestine should both be free and united. Using language like 'final solution' is just childish - it comes straight from Hitler's own mouth. Was not the nakba, and 75 years of occupation and persecution not the final solution for Palestinians? Are we not seeing the far right Israeli government razing Gaza to the ground, whilst killing and evicting hundreds in the West Bank? Did Bibi not invoke 'Amaleks' to encourage the death of every Palestinian in Gaza? Are we not seeing all hospitals schools and mosques being destroyed? Are we not seeing IDF soldiers killing so indiscriminately, that they are killing their own hostages naked and waving white flags in Gaza? Tell me, truly, who is the one side capable of committing genocide? It is only the Israelis, Palestinians do not have enough power or military might to do much damage to the people of Israel.

Just grow it at home. Most of the stuff in these ganja shops is a pile of It definitely needs to be better regulated, and they definitely need to lower prices (or grow good weed that is actually worth the premium price put on it these days). However, it is empirically evident that the legal, recreational use of cannabis is much safer than the recreational use of other legal pleasures.

Justice Minister Defends Thaksin Over Prolonged Stay Outside Prison
Brickleberry replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Prison is for poor people. Rich people get pardons and special treatment. This is the same all over the world. We can moan and deride the unfairness of the situation, but at the end of the day, who really thought he would spend even a single night in prison? -
Thanks Sheryl, I'll definitely get an account set up once I get the agent assisted 12 month extension, that sounds amazing. Problem is, I can't get a new bank account without having a long term visa - 90 days is not sufficient according to my local Kasikorn bank. The rules really have tightened up since I first arrived. I got my first bank account on a 30 day visa exempt stamp, alas those days are long gone!

Yes, my situation is a bit more complicated. To make matters worse, I started sending all the funds to my wife's bank after the IO said my bank account statements won't work - I have multiple transfers each month to my bank from three different companies. Now I wouldn't be able to show any proof anyway. The reason for this is I was using the yellow bank - you can only transfer up to 50k (THB) per time, so I was spending a lot of money on fees. The yellow bank has the wrong transfer codes - it looks like a local transfer. My wife has a Bangkok Bank account so I can send all of the funds to her account in one transfer, saving quite a bit of cash. I'll use an agent to help out after I get another non-O from Savannakhet. Everything is above board, and I have more than enough money coming in each month - I just can't park it in a bank for two months, too many out-goings.
-
That is for obtaining a multiple entry non-o at Savanakhet. They recently changed their rules and now you must show 400k in your bank. They will accept both foreign banks and Thai domestic. No need for seasoning, just have the money in your account on the day of application. 400k needs to be 'seasoned' in a bank account for 2 months prior to application (Thai bank) for a 12 month extension.
